The Green Bay Packers Super Bowl Future Odds

Despite having an excellent showing at the draft, oddsmakers haven’t witnessed a rise or decline in the 2025 Super Bowl future odds on the Green Bay Packers.

Popular online NFL sportsbooks have a +1900 price tag for the Packers to win it all, and while this probability percentage is lower than that of nine other teams, a price of -165 for the Packers to reach the playoffs truly speaks volumes about their potential.

NFL Draft 2024: Green Bay Just Got Better

This past week, the general manager, Brian Gutekunst, significantly improved the team's roster in several important aspects. This, however, came as no surprise, as he’s already showcased his exceptional talent in selecting promising players in the 2022 and 2023 draft classes. His past success in drafting players such as Jordan Love and Rashan Gary is a testament to his ability to identify and develop talent.

Gutekunst used his 11 selections to acquire three offensive linemen, three safeties, two linebackers, a running back, a quarterback, and a cornerback.

An Offensive Lineman Revamp: Protecting Jordan Love

The Packers have selected three offensive linemen in the NFL Draft for the fourth time in the last five years.

Green Bay selected Jordan Morgan from Arizona in the first round, Jacob Monk from Duke in the fifth round, and Travis Glover from Georgia State in the sixth round. The Packers needed assistance with the departures of Jon Runyan and Yosh Nijman in free agency and the release of David Bakhtiari.

Morgan has the necessary skills and experience to assume the role of starting left tackle without delay. He stands at an impressive 6’5” and weighs 311 pounds. He has exceptional agility and remarkable footwork, and at the NFL Combine, he showcased his athleticism by completing the 40-yard sprint in a swift 5.04 seconds.

Since 2022, Morgan has only allowed three sacks in 880 instances of pass-blocking. Out of the 96 FBS-level tackles in this draft class who played at least 650 offensive plays, he was rated 14th in pass-blocking effectiveness according to Pro Football Focus.

If the intention is to elevate Jordan Love to one of the most highly-paid quarterbacks in the game, which is likely to happen in the near future, it is imperative to provide him with adequate protection. Therefore, it was quite logical to choose an offensive lineman in the first round, which hasn’t been done in 13 years.

Green Bay’s Evolved Safety Unit

The safety unit of Green Bay required a complete overhaul throughout the offseason, and Gutekunst successfully accomplished this task.

Gutekunst acquired Xavier McKinney, a former Giants player, in free agency. He also made the following draft selections: Javon Bullard from Georgia in the second round, Evan Williams from Oregon in the fourth round, and Kitan Oladapo from Oregon State in the fifth round.

Bullard has the potential to be the most valuable or impressive member of the group.

In 2022, during the Bulldogs' national title victory, he mostly played as a slot corner. In that particular season, he achieved a total of 3.5 sacks and seven tackles. As a result of his outstanding performance, he was awarded the title of Defensive Most Valuable Player in the national championship game of 2022.

Williams is another multifaceted safety who can play both the slot and the defense's back end. On the other hand, Oladapo is a more conventional box safety, adding valuable depth to the Packers' roster at that position.

Gutekunst had said that the safety position needed improvement over the offseason. With the addition of four new players via free agency and the draft, the safety position has transformed from a vulnerability to a position of power.

Corners and QBs

Seventh-round selection Kalen King could eventually turn out to be an absolute steal. In 2022, King achieved the status of second-team All-American after accumulating 18 pass breakups and three interceptions. In 2023, his performance declined, and as a result, his position in the draft also decreased.

Former Packers general manager Ron Wolf practiced drafting a quarterback annually despite already having future Hall of Famer Brett Favre on the team. Wolf had significant success several times, as he discovered and recruited talented people such as Ty Detmer, Aaron Brooks, Mark Brunell, and Matt Hasselbeck.

Gutekunst aimed to embrace the same approach and acquired quarterback Michael Pratt from Tulane in the seventh round. Pratt accumulated an impressive 9,602 passing yards and 90 touchdowns over his exceptional tenure with the Green Waves.
