I think this is it. Congrats. It's about 90 days before training camp, and I'd bet this is already 90% on target. If everybody is healthy and able to compete by late July, then it's a matter of not breaking yourself before the roster cut downs. If those guys you mentioned don't break, this is it.

Who are your 8 gameday inactives, assuming everybody's healthy?

I made up my roster and posted it before I listened to Andy's podcast--turns out we have the exact same roster prediction, except I kept Tyler Davis, and Andy kept Andre Dillard. Tyler Davis is an excellent special teams player and can play H back (They really don’t use a FB, so Pearson gets cut, even though I think he’s pretty good), and I think Dillard is unnecessary; we have all of these guards who can be the fourth tackle.

Gute has kept 25 on offense and 25 on defense EVERY YEAR, as did Andy and I.

Notes:
Wilson is only 1 year younger than Dillon
DuBose played a lot of special teams in college and I think he’s a better WR than Heath, but until we see him play, Heath gets the nod. I'm hoping DuBose gets his spot.

I think Donovan Jennings is a great LG prospect to develop behind Jenkins. Yay for another UDFA making the team!

I'll also add my concerns/thoughts about this roster overall:

It's fascinating to me that we seem to now have linebackers who are good in coverage and safeties who are good at tackling...but the LBs aren't great at tackling and the Safeties aren't great at coverage...

Hafely talked about wanting turnovers, but I don't see a lot of ball-skills interceptors on this roster; it seems like they will rely on the pass rush to make the QBs throw innaccurately in order to get those interceptions. On the plus side, I think our new guys are going to be the best fumble-causers we've had since Charles Woodson and Clay Matthews were in their prime. So my prediction is that we are going to get more fumbles than interceptions as turnovers.

Our new "aggressive" defense seems like it could have issues against teams whose offense is a "power-running plus deep passing to tall receivers" style. Unfortunately, there are a LOT of tall receivers currently in the NFL, including Chicago's new Rome Odunze (and Keenan Allen), and Detroit's Jameson Williams.
The tall receivers are an issue because our starting DBs include Jaire Alexander, Keisean Nixon, and Javon Bullard who are all 5’10,” and the other three main DBs, Xavier McKinney, Eric Stokes, and Carrington Valentine are 6’ tall. Valentine is probably our best bet against the tall guys, but it's hard to give up 3-6" to an athletic opponent.

There were 4 safeties with elite ball production; Nubin, Kinchens, Bullock and Taylor-Demerson. The 1st were probably out due to poor testing and the 2nd two were probably out when they signed McKinney as their both well under 200 lbs.

Nothing is in stone yet. However, I think at the end of the day Samurai Toure will have something to say about who will be in the WR room. He has speed, instincts and great hands. The only thing that held him back was his injury. He will definitely compete. Also I think Bo Melton is a definite to make the roster at least as the first back up to Watson if not a starter. He proved his naysayers wrong last season.

'''However, I think at the end of the day Samurai Toure will have something to say about who will be in the WR room''''

You can work real hard in practice and film study and in the weight room, but there's no substitute for being on the field. Make a couple of nice plays and you start getting noticed. It's getting on the field that's hard.

The guys that would appear to be ahead of Toure are going to have to be injured or play poorly before he's going to get a chance. No offense to Toure, but if I need a catch I'd rather target Doubs or Reed or Wicks or Melton.....guys who I've seen make some pro-level plays.

I agree that Toure can play, but maybe a trade would be in his best interests, and if the Team can get a pick for a guy they would have had to cut, that's good too.

Andy,

Donovan Jennings is fun? How do you know that? Do you go camping together? Boating? Parties? You sound like a teenager with all your "FUN" talk. We are talking about men in a professional sport.
