FIT WITH THE PACKERS:

Glover has the versatiity the Packers look for on the offensive line having started at both tackles and guard in his college career. He is a big, strong, player who likes to maul opponents and has a nasty streak. He should provide depth along the offensive line and has a chance to develop into a starter with the right coaching and experience.

COMMENTARY:

A solid, late-round pick who has some physical limitations but adds versatility, experince and strength. He will have a chance to make the Packers roster and give them depth along the offensive line.

Another big behemoth they keep accumulating. But why? What are they trying to accomplish? Outside of the usual Packer traits. I would've thought they would've gone for the much more athletic Tylan Grable that went two picks later.

I had Grable higher too, but note Glover has 84 plus inch wingspan vs. Grable's 80.5". That's 34.625" inch arms vs. 33.625, matching dimensions they prefer for tackle. Glover and Grable both were close on all Packer Oline measurables, with Glover's 3-cone underwhelming, and for Grable, with no shuttle or 3-Cone times I am aware of. However, Grable's broad jump, vertical, and 10 yd. split were all outstanding.

I rarely agree with their OL decisions, but I guess I'll just have to have more faith.

[Edit] Does that mean that Jordan Morgan is an OG having 32.875 arms?

Yeah, but no. I understand your point. Morgan has an 81.375 Wingspan. And yes, Grable made the minimum wingspan. Again, I am just talking measurables. At that time, Grable was my highest ranked guy.

And Morgan's arms are not meeting their norm, but matches Luke Tenuta's. Tape matters too.

If they prefer that for Ts why'd they draft Morgan?

Versatility is the theme of the draft. This guy has played multiple positions. Good senior bowl. He might be younger than the other guy too.

I'm guessing this guy will compete with the bottom of the roster fellows. Maybe with the hope that a year or two of coaching can turn him into a player. Smart to churn the bottom of the roster and this provides some competition to the Caleb Jones / Dillard / Tenuta / Telfort for roster spots.

What the Packer FO is doing is stockpiling talent for the bottom of the roster plus candidates for the taxi squad. What's ahead yet are undrafted players to sign on top of what we've got. Then taxi squad players join, so we've got a boatload of fresh/new talent yet to be uncovered and soon to be discovered. Oh and don't forget the castoffs from other teams suitable for the Green/Gold. Problem is: all the teams will be waiting for the GB castoffs to stock their teams.

Can you remember a time such as this where there is so much youth and using 11 picks to fill the fridge with young dudes? OOOh, it's great to be a Packer! Oh, by the way, THE BEARS STILL SUCK!

Another LT Gute brought in.
Obviously the senior Bowl is Gute's
replacement for scouts, and the RAS.

I was thinking they'd grab Mohogany from Boston College as he was still on the board and rated higher.
Maybe Hafley had a different perspective and knew something the 'experts' didn't know.
