Aaron Rodgers agrees to four year, $200 million deal with Packers
The Green Bay Packers and Aaron Rodgers will continue to chase their elusive second Lombardi Trophy together after agreeing to a four year, $200 million deal.

Rumors are that in return for the massive guaranteed $, the terms also include a guarantee by Rodgers to play within MLF’s system and play better than an average qb in the playoffs.

What a joke. Rodgers is the big choke in the playoffs. Lets not assume we even make the playoffs. You have to win to do it and we dont know who were losing yet. Two of our best corners could be gone, and a few wide outs too.
You need more then Rodgers to Adams. That clown show will have trouble next year as they will double him all game.

Well, on the one hand, I'm not surprised. If the Packers would only trade him to the AFC, Rodgers had a greatly reduced chance of making another Super Bowl. So all of this makes sense for Aaron Rodgers.
On the other hand, it surprises me that the Packers feel like this works for them. It feels to me like Aaron Rodgers just got everything he wanted, and like the Packers screwed themselves. This only pays off if they win the Super Bowl, but now they have no money to do that with. Oh sure, they will have found some significant cap savings for this year, but the cap isn't going to go up THAT much in 2023 and 2024. Not enough to bring a $50M/yr. contract down to a reasonable cap percentage.
Aaron Rodgers will go down in NFL history as the King of the North. And that is about all.

And Seattle got quite the haul for Russ: 2 firsts, 2 seconds, a 5th and some players. It will be interesting to watch how the situations with Seattle, Denver, and Green Bay play out over the next few years, and the potential second guessing.

It’s amazing what stunts they can pull with the cap. Wish I could do that with my family budget. I just wonder how much this affects who else we can sign. Time will tell.

Just further proof there really is no cap. Teams can obviously massage #s any way they want. The “cap” is just an excuse to use to get out of bad contracts on aging players like ZaDarius and Cousins. Won’t be surprised if Packers still “find” a way to sign Campbell, Davante, Tonyan etc…..
