Aaron Rodgers Says He's Spent Offseason Prioritizing Mental Health

Aaron Rodgers says he's continued to focus on mindfulness and positivity.

Aaron Rodgers had a news conference Monday in advance of his appearance on the links for The Match with Bryson DeChambeau against Phil Mickelson and Tom Brady.

While he didn't provide any new insight into the ongoing saga that has swirled around him and the Packers this offseason, he did take some time to discuss what's been a major focus of his this offseason: prioritizing his own mental health.

Rodgers says that while he hasn't suffered any depression, he has been focused on finding ways to improve his mental state, something that was a common theme in the quarterback's press conferences and media appearances throughout the last year.

"I've just really been trying to think about what puts me in the best frame of mind," he said. "What habits can I form that allow me to feel most in my body, most present, happiest? And that's what I've been doing."

Later in the news conference, Rodgers did provide a quote that will likely have certain segments of the fandom or news media trying to find some hidden meaning:

"Sometimes the loudest person in the room is no tthe smartest person. Sometimes the loudest person in the room is not the person who has all the facts on their side or the truth on their side. Sometimes there's a lot of wisdom in silence. Sometimes there's a lot of wisdom in being selective on what you say."

Take that for what you will, but it almost certainly means we won't be getting any clarification directly from Rodgers any time soon on his standing with the Packers.

At the moment, my expectation is we see Rodgers back under center in Green Bay during preseason. But until then, we've got a golf match and several more weeks of "will they/won't they" manufactured news.

Enjoy!

Sounds like he wants to do what's the best thing for him and perhaps money isn't part of his decision.

I don't take much stock in anything he says anymore, or is leaked by his cronies; I'll believe what I see him doing - or not doing.

He certainly have left himself a retreat path.

Bearmeat, we’re on the same side on this. Welcome to the dark side. I don’t have any opinion on Rodgers other than I don’t want him leading my team…..especially since he doesn’t want to.

He’s been less than open and candid. I care about the team, never the individual. These predictions that we’ll suck without Rodgers are pretty insulting to thePacker Brass, the coaching staff, and the players…….who all apparently suck without Rodgers.

This is ball washing, plain and simple. Some people adore Rodgers and they don’t like people who don’t.

I get what you're saying. I think there are many in the press who feel like they have to always take the players side or they will lose out to interviews. If Michael Jordan didn't like you (cause you didnt kiss his ass when you wrote, you were not part of his inner press circle. And if you were in the press, boy, that's a circle you wanted to be in.) All I care about is the team, too. I don't have to like AR to want him to run the team, esp if I think the team will do better with him at QB before JL. I respect the FO for drafting JL, and I think the Pack will win whenever he gets under center, though I do think it will take him a year or 2 to get there. Our best chance for a SB title this year is with AR under center....

Sometimes the loudest voices know what they’re talking about, too. And sometimes people should just speak plainly.

I don’t want this guy anymore. I’m tired of this passive-aggressive manipulation of people who freaking adore him. I can’t believe the 1265 braintrust want him leading this team anymore.

He’ll report eventually, and then he’ll be traded. The Love Era has begun.

Aaron Rodgers Says He's Spent Offseason Prioritizing Mental Health Destruction For the People

All I know is there's going to be a TON of "Clickbait" pieces written all over the internet disecting this bunch of nothing. They'll twist and turn this into some crypic message because they think they KNOW Rodgers, OR they'll know someone who knows someone who knows someone else, who yet knows someone else, and they KNOW exactly what Rodgers meant by that and it's bad news for the Packers!

Now I understand this is Rodgers only leverage. Saying absolutely nothing even when he does open his mouth keeps the FO guessing. For a guy who "LOVES" the fans of the Packers, I'm not feeling the love and frankly I'm beyond tired of it.

Every inch of my body and mind is now hoping Jordon Love is the 2nd coming of Patick Mahomes. My hope is he balls out in the preseason. Balls out in weeks 1 and 2 and Rodgers desides to show up. Meanwhile the Broncos start 0-2 scoring less than 10 points on offense the first two weeks and are 100% certain Rodgers will fix that and offer the MOON. They send us Chubb, Surtain, Juedy, and 2 firsts and 2 seconds. Rodgers then goes 0-5 in AFCCG over the next 5 years making him 1-10 lifetime in the big game before the biggest game.

Meanwhile Gute CONTINUES to to hit on early draft picks and the Packers and Love are armed to the gills to continue dominating the NFC North for another 15 years except Love goes 10-1 in NFCCG and the Packers win at least 5 SB and Love is the 3rd in a row of 1st ballot HOF QB's in GB.

I'm a PACKERS Fan first and foremost and I for one will not forgive Rodgers for the insane Spring/Summer of 2021. Go "LOVE" the Bronco Fans.

I agree with your sentiment completely, NickPerry. Jordan Love is the future for the Packers, and that future is now.

A rather large court case was dropped by the Bowlen family last week, indicating the Denver Broncos are up for sale. One of the heirs stated in December the Broncos being put up for sale was the only way she would vacate her case. It was scheduled to go to trial this month, between the heirs and the Bowlen Family Trust.

Aaron Rodgers becoming a Denver Bronco makes a sale far more attractive to the prospective buyer looking to drop an unprecedented $8-10 Billion.

Latest discussions from Denver make mention that the Bowlen family are likely to give the Packers whatever they want to make the deal happen. I originally thought your trade pieces offered in this scenario to be on the rich side for compensation. Now? Hmmm. Tough to say what the Packers could get out of Denver to make AR available to deal.

This could happen a little more quickly than we might think.

Love goes 10-1 in NFCCG and some people will still bitch about the overthrow to Tonyan that should have won the 2026 NFCCG over the Giants even though he was 21-36 for 350 yards and 4 TDs…

Wait a minute Nick, this is so about that beautiful mystery MR Rodgers refers to.
Ya he has some mental issues and it goes way back before the packers, he just cant deal with negaitivity or rejection.
Hey, if he cant make a pass or one is a possible interception, he like no other qb, throws it away out of bounds. That says a lot. That says, I cant take mistakes. I cant deal with the negativity of me making a mistake and I'm not allowing anyone else associated with me to do it either without pointing a finger at them.

One could make a case that the first four words of this article's title should begin with "Packer fans."

We're drawing nigh to the halfway point of our franchise's enemy year that began Feb 12th and ends Feb 1st in 2022. Hope for the best and prepare for the worst and we'll weather this storm together.

He is a master orator. He has done a pretty good job of hedging this situation. He himself states that "sometimes there's a lot of wisdom in silence." Bingo Aaron! By being silent to your fans about what your actual gripe is, you have left it up to our imagination on who is the bad guy. When you come back, you can be championed in by 'Rodgers fans' because they will think you put the team first in the end. Sadly, not everyone buys into your silence.

I have need to, once again, say how I see reason for all this "drama" (drama, which is very tiresome). I suspect more and more that Aaron Rodgers knows how Packers found their next HOF QB and he started to fear for his position and "legacy". He also knows that Jordan Love is not ready, as he was not in his second season, and his MVP season and not readiness yet of Jordan Love made him believe that this is his last leverage towards Packers to get "extension" or new contract which will force Packers to live with him next 3, 4, 5 or more seasons...

He is also playing on the fact that Davante and maybe some other players will leave Packers is he will be traded, and that FO will fear losing some players they are counting on them. I also suspect that, at least 3 of 5 WR were missing during OT by his persuasion and some promises he made to them.

We all have to admit Aaron Rodgers is not free of fear, and as we very often judging the others through ours eyes and experiences, I believe Aaron played on that card, believing how FO will fear the publicity and negative image and, consequently played by his music. When they did not do that, all he can do is to be still mysterious about his attitude, willingness to play for Packers, his "next" move, etc...

As the time of TC approaches his position will weaken and he will finally need to make a decision - if he comes back for TC I expect his explanation that he has never said anything publicly about all this media pollution and that he has a contract to fulfill. Otherwise he may chose to sit out the season and to pay back to the Packers some substantial amount of money...

I do not believe he will try to tank the season for Packers, because if he try to do that, he will sits out the season...

Aaron is very, very intelligent person, sometimes to his detriment. He outplayed himself.

Croat,
I too agree there was some coordination of some sort with the WR's sitting out OTC. Whether it was Rodgers being the puppet master, or if it was simply the WR's on their own expressing solidarity for Rodgers doesnt matter. Who coordinated it ultimately doesnt really matter, but what it does show is Rodgers drama is negatively impacting the team and locker room. While on a smaller scale it is not much different than you see with some of the drama this morning here on CCTV. It is only going to get worse!

The Rodgers situation is akin to going to the dentist. You can hate the pain of getting that cavity filled but in the end the little pain you endure is to stop the long nagging paid of doing nothing.
The management wants to prolong the pain of losing Rodgers until they are forced to deal with it in the future. Whereas they could trade him, suffer his loss for a short time, using those great picks we got in return to rebuild.
Pick your poison.

Aaron is worried about Aaron and that much is clear, although I actually agree with some of his opinions of Gute's moves I think Rogers is handling this all wrong. Holding the team hostage right up until the start of the season does not give your "Team" the best chance to win and certainly doesn't help the morale or chemistry aspects for the team. With the Packers knocking on the SB door it is inconceivable that he would pull this crap. He may think he's sticking it to management but the reality is he is letting his team mates and fans down too. Man up Aaron and honor your contract, if you still feel the same at the end of the year then publicly ask for a trade the day after the season ends instead of ruining it for everybody because your feelings are hurt.

Dear CHTV,
It appears the right-wing has won. My comments criticising remarks made by Leatherhead and two other posters were taken down this week. I was not informed of the reason for my comments being removed which were of a substantive rather than ad hominem nature. But of course the CHTV site administrator (whose political leanings should be obvious to anyone) sided with people like Bearcat "(Rodgers) is a first rate narcissist and flat out nuts" and MajWhiplash "(Rodgers) you donkey dick." Oh sure, these comments are allowed but mine were not. It seems CHTV is going down the Ron Johnson wormhole.

This is especially troubling in light of the fact that "conservative"/"aggressive" posters such as Leatherhead and Bearcat are allowed to make extremely toxic remarks and that the CHTV fan base is divided fairly evenly pro and con their remarks if one looks at the proportion of likes vs dislikes. If the comments section is truly a free and open forum for discussion then it is highly disturbing that my remarks are censored for my view that certain posters are indulging in hatemongering whereas the actual posters who indulge in aggressive remarks (i.e. ("Rodgers is flat out nuts" - Bearcat; and "You donkey dick" - Majwhiplash) are given a free pass.

Anyone who has read my posts over the last year will appreciate that I do not engage in ad hominem attacks but justify my critique of CHTV writers and posters with substantive arguments. It seems that CHTV only believes in free speech when it comes to the Leatherhead class of commentators!
