I felt a little bit better ( but not to much better) about our run D Sunday night when I discovered the 49ers are the 3rd best rushing team in the league at approximately 150 yards per game, Just behind the Rams ( Gurley) and Cowpies ( Zek ).

Having 2 weeks off should provide help regarding injuries- Arod, Cobb, Alison, Our Guards, Alexander, Breeland , etc.

I'll be at the next game against the Rams. I hope we play respectful football as our questionable HC will have 2 weeks to game plan....sigh

Would have been nice to hear on whether or not the rookie WR have improved the team over Cobb and Gmo, it seems to me the speed of MVS is forcing changes in coverage.

Or on Dix, a great fumble forced and forcing the throw on King's pick in under 2 seconds.

We keep coming back to Kentrell Brice and the fact that, yes, he can run and, yes, he can hit...but he struggles in coverage. He's stiff. He's late to react. He's a downhill safety...they have a couple of those.

At this stage, they almost have to ask TWill or Breeland or someone with some coverage instincts to start playing CF. TWill has played some safety in the past. I know people here have been critical of conversion projects--especially mid-season--but this defense is going to struggle downfield until they find a way to patch those leaks.

Two areas of concern....Oline and Safety. Neither has a lot of depth and the safety position has a solid starter and marginal guys.

Echoing that this is yet another on the spot analysis. Especially on the CM sack. I saw the interior dline push their guys back so that not only could the QB not step up but he was far enough up field to meet CM where he had been pushed. I think it is both a coverage sack and an interior line sack that CM took advantage of. So, yeah, he's not "back".

Breeland has safety experience I think that's the plan.

This is what I would like to see coming out of the bye.

1) MM start calling short passes in rhythm and work into longer developing plays. And for gosh sakes, if the defense is blitzing, don't line up in tight formations. Open things up to let AR and OL deal easier with the blitzers. And adjust faster. Don't wait for quarters before changing.

2) Move Tramon Williams to safety in place of Bryce. Then start Breeland, King and Alexander.

3) Stop the stupid penalties, especially on special teams. Morrison and Brown should be inactive the next game.

4) Pettine, you laid an egg for this last game. Adjust faster. And rein in the young players from taking stupid penalties.

didnt Tony Brown get a taunting penalty for doing exactly the same thing that DBahk did on the play you highlighted in the walking over the opponent after knocking him down on the sideline?

I love the clip, but my point is how shoddy the NFL officiating has been vs the Packers all season.

Brown didnt deserve a flag for what he did, just as DBahk didnt get one.

No doubt Aaron Rodgers is a gift!...he's been a gift from the day he was drafted. IMO, He was perfect when it counted vs the 49ers. I also believe AR12 will play for at least six more seasons and I, like you, will enjoy them. Regarding AR12's 2018 season so far, yeah he's missed his fair share of plays (which includes missed throws and poor decisions)...but maybe this win will ignite something in him to make better decisions. Physically, I think he's adjusted to the brace and it allows him to practice which is key for him to be able to become more consistent and learn how to work better with Jimmy Graham, Marques Valdez-Scantling, and Equanimeous St. Brown. I don't think AR12's greediness regarding the big play will ever change but that's the double-edged sword that makes him what he is... It still blows my mind that I was able to watch Brett for all those years and then the torch was passed to Aaron...just blows my mind.

I might sound crazy but unless they're 99.9% healthy, I'd be ok if Cobb and/or G-Mo have to sit out the Rams game. I think both EQ & MVS are ready and capable of playing right now...the NFL game is not too big for either guy. They will make some mistakes along the way the rest of the season but I definitely believe they'll make many more plays than mistakes.

I was ecstatic when the Packers signed Jimmy Graham. I think he's played well enough so far in 2018 and will get better as the season progresses. 6'7" is hard to defend and he's still got decent enough speed for his size.

-- I concur that Davante Adams is not a product of Aaron Rodgers. Currently (statistically), he's #3 in receptions, tied for #1 in reception TDs, and #9 in receiving 1st downs. Those are elite numbers. He passes the eye test for me with flying colors. The only knock on him is his lack of game-changing speed IMO. Physical talent wise I think he's as good as Dez Bryant ever was. Dating back to 1968, I'd place Davante in my top five Packers WRs behind Sterling Sharpe, James Lofton, Jordy Nelson, and Donald Driver (longevity). I anticipate that the #12/#17 combo will accumulate some gaudy numbers during their remaining time together.

I think that once Breeland and (especially) Alexander get healthy it'll affect Kentrell Brice's PT. I think/hope Mike Pettine realizes that Brice simply cannot handle centerfield or any deep/last line of defense responsibility. Brice is more of a box player. Not sure which CB will be the best choice to play CF/FS but they need to find out and stop with the Brice experiment at centerfield. HHCD, King, Alexander, Josh Jackson, Tramon Williams, and Whitehead should be the dime DBs. Brice can be the 7th DB when they go to that package as long as he's not playing deep.

"The pass rush ain't much." Pettine doesn't send more than five rusher very often...but I get your point... For as much as CHTV members harp on CM3 and Nick Perry, I think Mike Daniels deserves criticism too. He's got to play better and provide more impact than he has to date in 2018. If Daniels was as impactful as Kenny Clark (or close to being)...the defense would look so much better.

I don't know what "I'm the biggest Aaron Jones stan on the planet" means but I concur that if he doesn't get his shit cleaned up in the pass game it will cost him reps.

"Kevin King was really, really good on Monday." No doubt and IMO, it was his best NFL game to date. If he can stay healthy I think someday he'll challenge Xavier Rhodes as the best CB in the division (and NFL).
