Allen Lazard misses practice with core injury

Davante Adams was a limited participant during Thursday's practice.

The Packers were back on the practice field Thursday as they prepare for their Monday night showdown with the Atlanta Falcons.

However, the star of Sunday nights win in New Orleans, wide receiver Allen Lazard, did not participate due to a core injury.

Rob Demovsky reports that "noted core muscle specialist Dr. William Meyers will look at Allen Lazard's scans and will determine the next course of action (surgery or recovery.)"

On the bright side, Davante Adams was a limited participant as he works back from a hamstring injury suffered against the Lions back in Week 2.

Here's the full Packers injury report for Thursday:

For the Falcons, star wide receiver Julio Jones was a limited participant. Jones is dealing with a hamstring injury. Also, Jones' wide receiver running mate Calvin Ridley, a young star in the making, did not participate due to an ankle injury.

ESB's return becomes even more critical. Huge opportunity for guys like MVS and others.

Even Jace and Big Bob!

I hope Adams doesn't return too soon and re injure, then not drafting a receiver will be the topic.

I’m thinking the media and Most fans are stuck in the 70’s. Remember “The Superstars?. We love speed, strength and carved bodies. I give you #52. An underwear superstar. At seasons end, he will be less productive than Barnes and Summers. On a cost per tackle bases that’s scary how bad we blew it.

Gary has done nothing on any level. He’s just a horrible football player, a one trick piney. He runs into people like an unguided missed. That’s good but you can hire that from the waiver wire for the minimum. You all look at the interception from a couple weeks ago. Just watch 52 not the TD. 52 engaged and gives up.

Face the facts he’s a million dollar athlete and a nickel football player.

Losing Lazard is just a terribly bad break. Hopefully he can still get back on the field later this season. Thanks, Since ‘61

It's a family site and all, so let me just say that I may or may not have just dropped an F-bomb.

Packers don't need a WR what are you talking about. The need evidently was drafting a 1 and 2 that would sit on the bench all year.

And, a team should be able to have a crystal ball telling them where injuries and opt outs will happen pre-draft!

This team is good enough to win the division, even with Lazard out, even with Love and Dillon not contributing much.

Maybe we’ll see some Begelton.

Bad blow losing Lazard. One of my favorite WR's. What this team does have is a lot of weapons on offense with contributions from WR/ TE/ RB Groups. Let's not forget how pivotal our depth at OL has been and operating seamlessly so far. Rodgers is commanding the offense better than the last several years with ML offense motioning players all over. Keke has also shown up on the DL and Summers weathered a storm last week after coming in cold. If Pettine can start using a few Safety blitzes to keep the Falcons honest in the backfield we should be able to get some 3 and outs and keep our offensive drives moving and eat up the clock for a W Monday night.
