Any Edge we draft @ #25 will not start for us in 2024. A Top DT, like T Sweat, Ruke Orhorhoro, Kris Jenkins, or Braden Fiske would see snaps, but they would not be starters. Any player picked @ #25 had better be picked to be a starter.

The co-#1 need this year is IOL & LB. IOL is the only position group that should be picked in the first round. getting Powers-Johnson would be a plus for GB, but honestly trading back will get us a starter @ IOL, like Cooper Beebe, and we gain more premium picks.

We would be better off signing a run stopping FA DT after the draft. Next years DT group is much stronger and deeper and we could prioritize DT and Edge in 2025.

Needs don't necessarily need to be addressed right away. 1st round picks are usually (not always, but usually) about long term investment.

Some $50MM for a QB, PROTECT HIM! Even if that's all it was about (and it's not) that would be ample reason to prioritize the O line.

Regardless of old scheme, new scheme, or whatever. There is no position “way down the list” in the NFL if you want to conten. As I’ve gotten older, I’m more and more surprised at how short an NFL players career is. It’s a game of replacement. And BPA seems to work pretty good with tweaks.

Sorry Aaron, I disagree. You fill the holes you have on your team with the best players that you can pick. The earlier the pick, the better player you can choose to fill the biggest hole. Defensive line is not a weakness on the Packers team. IOL and LB are, and we can pick 2 starters with our first 2 picks if we don't pick a D-lineman that is not a need or a snap eater.

The LB position in the draft is weak. GB has a huge need because of no FA signing. Using your idea of what position to pick, will let us choose from the 5th best LB vs the Top 2. The same can be said about OL. We have 3 good starters right now with no good backups. Multiple really good IOL will be available @ #25. Green Bay is not good enough yet to draft BPA regardless of position. In 2025 we will have the freedom to pick BPA.

this is the problem. it's weak according to whom. Wicks was drafted in the 5th round. Was he weak? Bakhtiari drafted in the fourth round, clearly weakness is (at this moment) in the eyes of people who don't run our front office, who haven't been following players since they were recruited, and whose opinions are essentially worth the oxygen expended talking about crap on TV and the radio. Don't believe the hype.

As far as any of us know we could be drafting two hall of fame linebackers in the 6th and 7th rounds. The front office will pick the best players available, according to a well-considered draft strategy that was informed by long-term planning.

As they say, don't sweat it at this point. Lie back and enjoy the awesomeness of the experience. At the end of the draft every team in the league will feel the optimism and enthusiasm of a new year with new toys. Even shitty teams like the Vikings and Bears.

It becomes exhausting this time of year.

Roster building is so much more than the draft, take a breath folks...

If you are counting on rookies to light your fire, you have wet matches.

Is the DT Warren Sapp?
Is the edge rusher Lawrence Taylor?
If so, I say “Hells yeah!”

Or is it Jerel Worthy?
Or is it Justin Harrel?
You just don't know do you?

The Packers are really close to having a strong, complete team, with only about 4 position groups not considered strengths. You guys aren't going to convince me that we should fix the last weaknesses that we have first in the 2024 draft. 2025 will be a draft to consider BPA because we will be a complete team that is maybe a player away from greatness.
