Chris Banjo: 2015 Packers Player Report Card
By jasonperone
Ayokunmi Christopher Oluwaseun "Chris" Banjo
- Age: 25
- Ht./Wt: 5'10", 207lbs
- College: Southern Methodist
- NFL Experience: 3 years
Expectations coming into the season: Banjo wasn't expected to contribute on defense unless there was an injury of any type. With Morgan Burnett and Ha Ha Clinton-Dix entrenched as starters and with Micah Hyde and Sean Richardson behind them on the depth chart, Banjo was kept on the roster for special teams purposes.
Player’s highlights/low-lights: Banjo had one lone pass defended in the week three game against the Kansas City Chiefs. He was so rarely on the field on defense that he really didn't have a low light or low point of the season.
Level of Expectations met: Banjo technically met expectations, as he rarely was needed on defense. Still, his contributions were very minimal.
Grade: B+
Player’s contributions to team success: Banjo stepped in during week three and "kept the roof from collapsing" while Burnett was out and without a healthy Richardson. Other than that, Banjo was a non-factor on defense. It's hard to give him a really bad grade here so we'll go with 'average'.
Grade: C
Player’s contributions in the playoffs: Banjo didn't contribute anything on defense during the postseason
Grade: N/A
Intangibles/misc: With Banjo's contributions on special teams, you have to credit him for being the consummate team player. He keeps himself in shape and ready if needed.
Grade: B
Overall Grade: B-

Banjo is a little bit above average on STs. He is above average as a back-up safety (he'd be below average as a starter). In terms of expectations, these were met well - A minus. I agree with a B overall, and would suggest that he is perhaps the 42nd best player on GB. Still an exclusive rights FA, and should be a good bet to be on the team again.
