Interesting comments from the Cheesehead TV staff.

I'm having a disagreement with myself and that makes it a tough call; I'll explain the issue.

My head says that our two starting tackles (Bakhtiari and Jenkins) will not play and Rodgers is going to be harassed and sacked. My head says that Lazard is out and the passing game will struggle. My head says that the Packers will lose by a score of 24-13.

My heart is more optimistic and says that the Packers defense will hold Cook to less than 60 yards and the defensive front seven of the Packers will put heavy pressure on Cousins who will be both harassed and sacked multiple times forcing him to have two interceptions. My heart says the Packers will win 27-17.

I'm going with my heart on this game and predict that the Packers will beat the Vikings by a score of
27-17. Boy I hope my heart is right on this one.

Packers by double digits. Time of Knockout (that’s when we score enough points to win) will be in the second quarter.

First game of the season; I suspect MLF has "reminded" the vets about last season's stinker of an opening. I think the game will be very low scoring (unless we get some defensive pick sixes, lol). GPG!

With the OL at less than ideal strength and an eager to perform Z'darius Smith across the line, the time has never been better to run directly at the edges and when you're not running the ball, get the backs or the slot to run a shallow curl right over the top of the OLB's.

Force Minnesota's defense to respect the outside zone and option runs and attack the voids left behind when the edge rushers pursue the QB too aggressively to get them on their heels, control the clock with the run and shallow pass game, and selectively take your shots downfield.

That takes pressure off the OL, helps keep MIN's talented skill players off the field, and keeps our defense fresh and rested while wearing out the Vikings.

Will the Packers play disciplined football on offense? Don't know, Rodgers tends to get impatient, but we'll see.

Go Pack.

I think that it will be a close enough game that turnovers and penalties will be the deciding difference. If we can play aggressive and "clean", we should be able to come out with a "W".

Want the Packers to win but seemingly a lot of things going against the Packers before game even starts. This is a game that can set the stage for a great year should they win a game when the team is far from full strength and facing a lot of adversarial situations. I think a win today really sets the stage for an awesome season for the Packers.

Hate to say it, but I think officiating will dictate the outcome of this game.

With so many changes and so much as yet unseen with both clubs it's hard to get a feel for this one. The Packers will be playing as much against the stadium there as the Queens and that's their biggest potential problem, as far as I can see.

That stadium is about as "rigged" for the home team as one can be, with entrapped and enhanced crowd noise and that horn - which is now known as the Zimmer fart- intended to distract and distrupt the visitors inside while it kills birds outside.

It sets up for any of the Packers' new or young players to make a communication mistake that could loom large in the outcome. It would be much better if Lazard, Jenkins and Bakhtiari could go and if we can be sure Crosby's training camp and preseason rehab isn't going to be an early problem with a new holder and long snapper.

If the Packer defense that looks so good on paper translates to the field, like it did in the playoff last January, if there are no major special teams gaffes, the young receivers don't cause INTs off tipped or dropped passes the Packers should win.

If they don't it won't have that much more significance on the rest of the season than a fourth preseason game.

As a fan I'll call it 24-17 for the Pack.

I hope everyone takes a moment to remember the 3000 Americans who were killed by terrorists today, Sep 11th in 2001. I can only imagine the terror felt by the heroes who charged the terrorists and prevented the final hi-jacked aircraft from crashing into the White House. May they RIP.
