It has been a norm for packer's def to give up a early TD but this is the match we cant let the opponent score first since it is the debut game for Young Jordan love and also being a home game for Kansas.

Get a grip... Never critical of AR checking down. I am consistently critical of AR for: 1) Forcing the ball to DA, and not passing to the easy open man. 2. Running the clock to zero and thus wasting TOs.

A lot of pass rush. Quick to Adams. Not enough. That's going to be a problem without AR - 3rd and 12s. Need your super duper (LOL) QB and WR. One didn't cut it.

Blocked field goal. But GB has $500K in the bank by not hiring Rizzo.

No penalty on Amos on the deep shot. That's what happens when you're going badly - no benefit of the doubt calls. Kelce drops one. Mahomes just misses on 3rd down - ball slipped or sailed on him. Loose possession - nice for GB. The GB defense came up and made some real plays to stop KC on the 2nd drive. This one KC just imploded for GB.

Agreed.

Needs protection, or they need to start running a moving pocket or roll outs. He's had two passes with clear lanes that were off target, the rest of them looked like avoidance of defenders in the passing lane or what would be considered "normal" throws from #12 that don't get critiqued (low passes in the flat at targets' feet, passes slightly behind target making them slow down a bit.)

Really need to ramp up the run game and then find a way to get Love a split second more of a clean pocket and try to dial in.

Should be 13-6. ST is baaad.

Let me be the first to stuff this right up your keister.

1) Up until Wednesday, Jordan Love was pretending to be Mahomes and running KC plays with the scout team. MVS, Lazard, and Adams weren't available until about wednesday, either.

2) Despite all the talk of poor accuracy and throws from Love, for the great majority of his throws were no less accurate than the shit Rodgers puts out there on a regular basis. Yeah, I said it. WATCH THE FILM. for the last 3-4 years, Rodgers has regularly put the ball behind targets forcing them to slow down and reach behind them on crossing routes, throwing balls at target's toes on short passes.

3) First NFL start, in arguably the toughest place to play on the road in the league, silent count all night and completely under siege from a very good KC pass rush.. Love outplayed Mahomes in his house.

4) Outside of the pass to Cobb (which Cobb miraculously caught), I didn't think Love made any other egregious decisions under severe pressure. He didn't get happy feet, he didn't throw dangerous balls.

5) Had the FG unit done their job, this was a tie game at 13. Had the punt return unit not muffed a punt, this could have been a W. For a first time starter, under severe pressure, in the loudest stadium in the NFL, on 3 days preparation.

6) I saw enough from Love to say, I'd like to see this young man with a full week of game planning and practice and see what he does.

Why GB took 28 (Dillion) out of the game plan is beyond me. They need to play like Baltimore. Running backs pounding, RPO, and play action to the TE’s. They need to slip in a jet sweep or something creative like a pass to Jordan Love trick play. Defense is playing very well. Very tough stadium for a first start for a QB. Coach not helping him in the second quarter..

Misadventures of STs continues with the muff by Amari but at least GB kept it. I have seen enough of Amari as a returner. He is looking like a 3rd round GB pick in a long line of 3rd rounds disappointments. Early, but hands look iffy and I don't see much burst or top end speed.

But it's play action, so OK, according to Aikman.

Which makes some sense, I guess, but it's still tackling a receiver. That series was probably our worst series of the game.

Because it's play action, at that point in the play, it's for all intents and purposes a run play. I guess that's Aikman's point- when the Oline is moving forward as though run blocking, and the RB hits the hole after a fake hand off, there's a moment where contact is allowable because.. it's not known to be a passing play yet?

That's the best I can make of Aikman's argument. Lol.

I felt the same way, TGR, and the only answer to "why", I figured, was a deliberate decision by somebody that at this point in the game, the focus is going to shift from attempting to win this non-conference game, to getting the best look at Jordan Love we can get for long-term assessment.

I don't think it's the right thing, but I think it might have been the thing.

His Wonderlic score was well above average, so yes, he has brains. He also is accurate, but apparently only when he has some decent protection, which he hasn't had for much of this game.

Yes, he's rough, but this is his first game against a defense playing their starters. Were you a fucking expert your first day at a new job?

Anyone who watched this game, under these circumstances, and comes away with "Love is straight up garbage" doesn't know what they're looking at.

I've seen Aaron Rodgers crumple harder than Love did under less blitz pressure than Love faced tonight... and Love has never started an NFL game.. and had 3 days to prepare for it.

Was it pretty? Nope. But Love stood tall in the pocket and limited mistakes under a barrage in the loudest venue in the NFL. That's not garbage.

Newman is probably the odd man out when Bakh returns. And Bakh has to be activated by Wednesday or put on IR for the rest of the season.

Not sure how LaFleur will rearrange the OL. Might even be something surprising. Kelly or Nijman to RT with Turner moving to RG is a long shot. Probably just Bakh to LT, Jenkins or Runyan to RG. I don't want to move Runyan unless the coaches think he would be comfortable at RG.

Edit: I saw Nijman on the 4th and one.

One of the issues: down two scores in the 4th quarter. Getting chunk plays looks tough with this group. that means the defense has to shut down KC after GB puts a TD on the board with this possession. Clock might be down to 8 minutes by then.

Hang around and give your team a chance.

That's mostly because Aaron Rodgers has the worst short-pass touch and accuracy in the league.

No, I'm not joking. He sucks at passes under 5 yards. Always rifles the ball, always at the target's toes. I think he does it intentionally because he's scared of the ball being picked off for a TD.. but it's the most uncatchable short ball in the league.

I'm proud of the defense today. It took a damn near miracle roll out by the Chiefs to secure the win today. Gary missed Mahomes by a split second for the sack.

SPT's is the worst in the NFL and they need to fire the coordinator now. There are many options out there but this guy is a huge liability with 2 muffed punts and two missed FG's. Basically take away the two missed FG's and the muffed punt and the Pack have 13 points and the Chiefs have 10 points. SPT's lost this game for the Packers for sure.

Cubbygold had the pre-game analysis dead-on. The Third phase of Football cost us this game. All plays matter. Why has the right side of the FG protection unit once again collapsed? Crosby has to hit the first shot. Laces were on the side and a clean snap and hold. Not enough of a screen or draw game against the predictable red dogs from Spags.
MVS is not 100 % or they would have burned the single-high look. Great effort. Too bas about Stokes. We cannot lose him along with jaire out.

The holds were not clean on either FG attempt. The rap on BoJo out of Buffalo (why they released him) was his inability to get consistent holds. It’s not simply about laces out. The ball needs to be held at exactly the same place at exactly the same angle every time. Crosby has about a 1 square inch target to hit on the ball and if the angle is just a couple of degrees off in any direction, it will not go through.

I'd also add a speculative guess to SanLobo's comments-

I'm guessing that just because the laces don't interfere with the kicker's foot, doesn't mean they don't interfere with the kick.

I am going to assume that the laces being at 270 degrees compared to the laces being at 0 degrees, or 90 degrees, etc, changes the trajectory of the ball due to aerodynamics, much as how the position of the stitching on a baseball affects the flight path during a pitch.

If Crosby's kicks are normally kicked with the laces facing the goal post, and both kicks today were with the laces facing the left sideline, that could be all the difference.

Don't know, just throwing it out there.

Packers offense out gained Chief in both running yards and passing. Other than the INT, Jordan Love's stats were better than MaHommie's. Two FG misses and a poorly executed pick route by MVS in the Red Zone prevented the victory.

Defense played lights out. Hope Clark is okay for next week.

Keep fighting the good fight, Bama, but one thing I know for sure: These putzes don't care for reason.
