Davante Adams "probably doubtful" for Sunday's game

Head coach Matt LaFleur didn't sound too hopeful that his star wideout will suit up Sunday night.

Packers head coach Matt LaFleur said that wide receiver Davante Adams was "probably doubtful" for Sunday night's game in New Orleans when he met with the media this afternoon.

Coach also indicated that Kenny Clark was not entirely out of the woods yet, despite practicing the last two days, and would basically be a game time decision.

One new addition to the injury report will be Elgton Jenkins, who was not present at practice today. LaFleur did not specify what Jenkins is dealing with, but did seem to indicate he will appear on the injury report later today.

Second year Josiah Deguara also sounds like he will miss his second game.

Well, that reads like three star starters are potentially out or at least limited for the Saints game, an early challenge for the bench depth and the practice squad guys who may get the Sunday call.

Would love to play the Saints at full strength but best to get the banged - up guys better as soon as it is possible.

I also like Deguara's game, based on his first as a Packer and am anxious to see him back on the field.

With Aaron and Aaron on O and Smith and Smith on D I remain confident in the Packer's going into this game.

Look forward to seeing the WRs step it up and the TEs as receivers as well.

Likely a pretty tough full 60 minutes coming up Sunday night.

Expect to see MLF & Aaron trying to run a time of possession advantage offense to keep the Saints O off the filed and their D on the field as long as possible.

Our receiving core still scares the hell out of me. MVS, Lazard, and Taylor will be starting. That, is not the best 3-man lineup I can think of.

Bet you were scared 3 weeks ago, too.

Our WRs still don't have any quality depth, and I'm not convinced about the quality of the starters beyond Davante either. Our DL after KC is garbage. Our ILBs inspire no confidence. Our gap discipline with our OLBs (especially Z) doesn't help. Our safety play has been mediocre. The right side of our OL has played well, but against who? And Rodgers has toasted two secondaries, but again, the quality of those units is beyond a question mark. And it's not like we've beaten Brees in New Orleans ever either. Some truly ugly losses...

A whole lot of reasons to think we'll get trucked tomorrow night. But for some reason, I think we'll be fine. It'll be a high scoring, close game.

Think “pass catcher” not WR’s in Matt’s offense. I think you will be surprised how well they do without Adams if he doesn’t go.

I think that NO knows that too. So I expect them to game plan on taking out the TE’s. But that leaves Jones and Williams open. Also it allows Lazard and MVS single coverage once in a while. If Rodgers can get the short game going it will be enough to win. On defense I expect we will get gashed by Kamara and Cook. I just hope that we can limit them enough to win.

On the plus side: "game time decision" is for a Night game so there is slightly more time for these guys to get healthier. :)
