David Bakhtiari to participate in team drills for first time

The All Pro left tackle takes another big step toward returning to the lineup.

Big news from Matt LaFleur during his pre-practice press conference this afternoon.

All Pro left tackle David Bakhtiari is set to participate in team drills for the first time this season when the team takes the practice field this afternoon.

This is a big step toward seeing the veteran offensive tackle back on the field, but that's all it is. A step. We'll see how Bakhtiari makes it through practice and then how his knee responds and whether he's back out there on Wednesday when the team returns to the practice field. Even then, there's no guarantee that a full week of practice will be enough for the Packers to feel comfortable enough to play in Sunday's season opener.

But there's not denying that getting Bakhtiari involved with team activities is a huge step in the right direction.

IF Bahk comes back at a high level, with the return of Elgton, makes this a very good and deep OL. Fingers crossed.

And Allan Lizard misses. I hope it’s just a precaution thing.

Re Lazard, I read a stat too good to verify: if Lazard retired today he'd be in the top 20 Chicago receivers of all time.

This can't be true, can it?
