Eddie Lacy Named NFC Offensive Player of the Week

The Packers running back was honored for his performance against the Vikings this past weekend.

Green Bay Packers running back Eddie Lacy has been named the NFC Offensive Player of the Week, according to the NFL's director of NFC communications, Randall Liu:

Lacy rushed for a season-high 125 yards against the Minnesota Vikings this past Sunday, scoring once on the ground and also adding another touchdown through the air, catching a shovel pass from quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

Particularly effective the last drive of the game, Lacy carried the football five straight times and got two first downs to help the Packers run out the clock in a 24-21 victory.

Liu adds some historical perspective:

Lacy is the third Packers player to earn a conference Player of the Week honor this season.

Rodgers has earned the same recognition three times this season in Weeks 4, 7 and 10.

Linebacker Julius Peppers, meanwhile, was named the NFC Defensive Player of the Week in Week 5.
