Extra Cheese: LaFleur done talking injuries

The head coach won't talk injures until he has to but Aaron Nagler's ready to talk all things Packers.

Late Friday afternoon, I held a Packers chat over on our YouTube channel about all things Green and Gold. You can catch the replay below.

Be sure to subscribe to the channel if you'd like to participate in future chats.

Once again the injury bug has stung the Packers, it appears two, maybe three key players will be out for long periods of time.

The injuries do not seem to be as bad as first envisaged. Of course you never know how soon a guy comes back until he DOES come back.

The only starters who are a threat to miss regular season games are King and Burks, and King will probably be ready (if he doesn't spontaneously burst into flames in the lead-up to the Bears). I think they're in good shape, injury-wise.

Injuries happen to every team, every year. Check out Derwin James (Chargers), Cam Newton (Panthers), Metcalf (Seahawks) just to name a few. I know we have our share, but it’s similar around the league. It’s such a violent sport as is the NHL. Hockey and football players are the toughest athletes, IMO. Go Pack, and hopefully have a relatively healthy season.

They’ll probably put St. Brown on the 8 week pup. Allows them to keep one more receiver:
Davante, Geronimo, MVS, Kumerow, Davis, Sheppard, Lazard.

Week one starters at ILB: Martinez and Summers?

They'll still have to cut someone to put ESB on the IR-return. ESB needs to be on the 53 first. It could be that they cut one of the other WR and tell them the plan so they don't sign to someone's PS.

If cut I believe they would have to clear waivers for all 31 other teams first before they could be signed back to the PS... so there is risk they would lose that player.
