Nags didn’t talk at all about Jamal Davis and or Gerald Willis?
What the hells up with that?

If he only costs a Day 3 pick, he's worth it even if we don't re-sign him. It's the kind of move the Packers need to start being willing to make as we get into the last few years of Rodgers career; and by that I mean we need a bit more emphasis on the short term, "How do we get better THIS year" rather than the long term "How do we get better over the next 3 years"...

They have to be thinking about offering a 2021 # 3 pick for this guy.

Looks like Belichek values a 4th round pick more than Howard. You would have though TB would traded Howard to NE otherwise.

Belicheat is up against it with the cap. He can't afford to take on salary. Also why he didn't keep Gronk. Draft picks dont count on the cap yet. Knowledge is Power

Howard's cap would be just $1.97M to NE. That's bad cap management because NE only has $1.2M in cap space (that includes signing draft picks so there is enough space now to make picks and take on Howard's deal) and it is tough to even find a player Belicheat could restructure to make room for Howard.

I think the rebuild is coming to NE. There will be some cap casualties in NE, and I am guessing Belicheat trades some marque names for picks.

Disagree w/ your thought process on a few levels, but I will agree with you that there are multiple mouths to feed in the upcoming years, but I wouldn't add Kevin King or Aaron Jones to that list. In previous years the Packers have spent good money on the following veteran Tightends: Jared Cook, Martellus Bennett, and the recently departed (and jokingly expensive) Jimmy Graham. of the three, Cook was the only good investment. I understand that TT was running the show then but OJ Howard should still be considered.

I have not watched much film of Howard. Can he block? Was he running routes correctly? I always question a team so eager to trade a player still on their rookie deal whom they invested a good amount of draft capital in. Why would they not want 3 good TEs? I say now unless he is an absolute bargain, maybe we get him for a 5th or 6th rounder, otherwise no thanks.

I see our TE situation as Lewis and Sternberger quite a bit of the time. Mostly blocking, but they’ll each get a few targets each game. I also suspect that converting Looney to TE means we might use him the way that SF used that big mofo named Toiloil?

I guarantee that if we put a 7 man line with Lewis and Looney, then we could probably roll over a lot of people. Seven defenders blocked, Lazard blocking another, and another covering Adams .... not a lot of guys left to stop Jones.

Run.... run .... run... Is that all you've got?

Out of curiosity... KC is the defending Super Bowl Champ... right?... Do you have any idea where they finished in season 2019 as a rushing team?

I'll clue you in.... 98.1 yards per game for a bottom 3rd finish in the NFL at number 23 out of 32 NFL teams. ---- You are now on the clock to create even more "PFR Analytics" to support your insane positions. --- Good Luck.

KC is an anomaly, because they have Mahomes. And they still trailed late. 12 playoff teams, 11 of them ran as much or more than the Packers.

Do me a favor. Go to Vegas and bet long shots. Me? I more than happy to take the higher percentage play.

"KC is an anomaly"
Of course... you're exposed once again for your ridiculousness.... Please, try something new.... You're stale & "best if used by date" has long expired.

It’s ridiculous to acknowledge they were an anomaly.??? Seriously?..? Do you know what that word means.?

I've already forgotten more words than you will ever know.... As I've said before... Come up with something new based on MORE than what's bouncing around in your head. -- Thanks for the effort.

Dude.....how stupid are you... ?. 12 playoff teams. 11 are in the top half of the league in rushing attempts. One is not. Which one is the anomaly? Those are FACTS.

Dude ... how dumb are you...?... Get real.
Those are (as usual) your facts as if they are the ONLY factors in a team winning... Let us all forget defense, special teams, coaching, injuries, schedule... etc.

They hit gold with LaFleur. He's not some troglodyte like Mike Shanahan, a guy living off the past when he used a battering ram RB and high/low knee capping blocking schemes from Gibbs, that have since been outlawed. He knows they need Rodgers at full rev and the running game will complement the passing attack. The real question mark is Pettine. Can this guy understand fundamental football or are we doomed with a finesse defense?

Howard is an above average to good blocker. A healthy Howard would look tremendous in GB. I gather that there are problems between Howard and Arians, and catscratchreader suggests that the Arians offensive scheme isn't good with TEs. But Brady is.

Sorry, if a 4th round pick is all it costs, absolutely trade for him. That can be recouped by moving around in the draft and he may prove to be more valuable than Tonyan or Mercedes, plus he hasn't entered his prime.

I'll be honest, if we "obtain" a TE in the next couple of days, it better be Howard or something later than round 4 in the draft as none of them are worth anything higher.

Gotta agree with the sentiment, "Until they're a Packer I'm not going to invest a lot of time looking at a Player."
Aaron, I think you aren't as much in the minority about the draft as you think.

Could trade a 5 for O.J. Howard this year. He's got a very low salary, as he's still under his rookie deal. Let him go next year in free agency and they'll re-coop the same pick or maybe a higher one depending upon the year he has when he signs a big money deal after the season.
