Fans React: What Are You Most Excited About This Season?

Hear from Packers fans directly what they're most looking forward to going into the 2021 season.

These last few weeks I looked at one storyline for each of the Packers’ 2021 opponents. The storylines focused primarily on roster changes and hurdles teams might have to overcome in crowded divisions. But then I started thinking about the fact that Lambeau Field will be at full capacity this season, and thinking about all of the games I’ll be going to with my family and friends. That led me to post a survey on social media trying to gather fan reactions to this 2021 season, which games they’d be attending and what they’re most excited about as we get closer to the regular season. Here are some of my favorite responses, in no particular order:

Steve S.  - Attending multiple games but unsure which ones yet

“The atmosphere of a hype-filled NFL stadium is something that cannot be reproduced. Music fills the air as you walk through a sea of endless block parties & tailgating as you approach the stadium. You can turn to just about any person in sight and strike up a meaningful conversation like you're old friends who haven't seen each other in years, whether they're wearing the same colors as you or not. When you're sitting in those bleachers, you feel like you're actively contributing to your team's success as it's the only place where you're encouraged to scream at the top of your lungs on-and-off for three hours straight. Every game is exciting, but the energy of seeing your team in-person means so much more.”

Jason Z. - Attending Bills, Ravens, and [hopefully] whichever game Pack’s What She Said and Game On Wisconsin have tailgates for

“As a dual fan of both the Packers and Ravens I am always supremely excited to see them face off against one another. I feel that both rosters are primed for a Super Bowl run and to watch a potential preview of the big game will be thrilling. Both teams have dynamic, high powered offenses and (hopefully) dominant defenses, so it ought to be a true battle of titans. As to the preseason game in Buffalo, I will be most excited for the Bills Mafia tailgating experience. I have seen videos and heard tales, but to experience it firsthand will be quite unique. In addition to the pregame spectacle, I love seeing the rookies and UDFAs putting in their best efforts to make the final cut. I personally feel that preseason games are under-appreciated by most fans. Lastly, I am very eager to hear which game(s) will be the official Tailgating games for PWSSP and GameOnWi. I hope to attend at least one so that I might meet (in person) the bloggers and podcasters whom I admire and love interacting with on a nearly daily basis. GO PACK GO!!!”

Alex B. - Attending Week 9 @ Kansas City Chiefs

“A Missouri native who has grown up a Packers fan, so this is for bragging rights. I was fortunate enough to be at Arrowhead in 2019 when Green Bay beat KC last time the two teams met up, and yes, I was there when the Chiefs beat the Packers in 2011. Arrowhead Stadium is a great environment with two of the most passionate fan bases in the NFL coming together to watch a game. You can’t ever go wrong with Kansas City barbecue pregame, Arrowhead tailgating, and then (hopefully) watching a matchup between two of the best quarterbacks of our lifetime go head-to-head in their first matchup! Looking forward to seeing Green and Gold take over KC! Go Pack Go!”

Mickey S. - Attending the Bears, Steelers, Chiefs, and Cardinals games

“The Bears game will mark the 5th different decade I have seen a Bears/Packers game in person … have seen them play at 4 different stadiums… Lambeau, County Stadium, Soldier Field, Champaign … so it will be cool.”

Marisa S. - Attending Week 12 vs the Los Angeles Rams

“I’m looking forward to the home Lambeau crowd late in the season and seeing Matthew Stafford with a new team!!”

Brian N. - Attending Week 7 vs Washington Football Team

“Definitely looking forward to the stadium tour since it’s my first time at Lambeau.”

CHTV’s own Tyler H. - Attending Week 8 @ Arizona Cardinals

“Seeing the Packers play close to where I live! There is a massive Packers fan base in Arizona. I’m sure at times it will feel like a home game. See you there, cactus cheeseheads!!!”

Matt C. - Attending Week 15 @ Baltimore Ravens

“There are so many factors that play into this game from getting to attend with one of my best friends from college that I've known since 2005, to my wife and I agreeing to see our Packers in every stadium when we got married. We knocked off Lambeau in 2019 and Tampa during Covid times. The next reason we chose Baltimore is a combination of the weather and the matchup. You have two likely MVP contenders playing 6 days before Christmas with playoff seeding on the line. Being from the Carolinas, the three of us would love for it to snow! Next, we are looking forward to mingling with the greatest fans on this planet - Green Bay fans are a cut above the rest. Lastly, the food. We are looking forward to some crab cakes and good times with those we love and those we come across! My wife will vouch, I wear green and gold daily and it's rare for us to go out in public and not meet at least one person who is either a Packers fan and/or from Wisconsin down here in North Carolina. "Y'all are everywhere," she always quibs after meeting yet another fan.”

Ashley P. - Attending Week 12 vs Los Angeles Rams

“I am most excited to see the historic Lambeau field again! To breathe in the chilly Wisconsin air, eat a pretzel or brat, and cheer on my Packers! I also love singing the rally songs! (We listen to a Spotify playlist of them on our drive to the game 😂) I grew up in STL, a Rams fan. But when they abandoned me (screw Kroenke!) I became a fan of my favorite quarterback's team (Plz stay 12, we love you). So I enjoy seeing the Rams lose, especially in person! Go Pack Go!”

Tanner B. - Attending Week 2 vs the Lions and maybe Christmas vs the Browns

“Going to the home opener, aside from the Rodgers first home game back since whatever or possibly Jordan Love’s direct home start storyline...my first game at Lambeau Field and first warm weather [knock on wood] game.”

Packers fans really are the best in the NFL. Thanks to everyone that responded to the survey, and apologies if your comments didn’t make it into the article! It seems like everyone is most excited to be back at the stadium to soak in the atmosphere. Whether this season will be your first live Packers game or first trip to Lambeau Field, I hope you enjoy every second of it. Reading through all of these responses has me beyond stoked to be back at the stadium with 80,000 friends. If you see me around, give a shout! And drop what you’re excited about this season in the comments.

1) Getting pads on and having something at least resembling real football to talk about.
2) Resolution of the Rodgers issue so we can focus on the team we will be this year.
3) Watching the many roster battles I expect to be tight in camp.
4) Seeing what the O with all the pieces in place can do (H back, Dillon etc).
5) Seeing what Barry can make of the defensive roster
6) seeing us win a ST battle
7) LaFleur developing as an in game tactician

See Love start even with Rodgers on team just to show him he isn't end for all in the world of the Packers! Tired of the Man Bun antics! {If Rodgers comes back I know this won't happen!}

How sweet would this be...LOL! Of course it would not happen!

However, how about a scenario where Rodgers comes back late in camp/pre-season and isn't ready for the first game or two, and Love starts and does exceedingly well? Maybe a scenario where Rodgers is the bona fide starter and gets injured for a few games or a half dozen games and Love plays very well. Would generate quite the controversy wouldn't it?

Actually, the more I think about it there is going to be controversy this year no matter what happens. Just going to be the way it is!

I am most excited about getting back into my seats at Lambeau Field after not being able to attend games last year. I will be at both preseason games and every regular season game except November 14, the day before the Michigan firearm deer season opener.

Finally getting to see what Jordan Love looks like during real, live NFL action. Even if AR12 returns, Love will be getting lots of reps during TC and Pre-season. It'll be interesting to see if he looks the part of a starting NFL QB.

I agree 13Time!

Just want to see Love in some real action to see his moxie and composure in different situations. We already know the physical talent is off the charts good!

You sound like one of those that booed Rodgers when he took over from Favre, someone who hates new things.

Give Love a proper shot at being a QB, rather than rushing to judgement way too soon. The guy deserves a chance, just like any other player on the roster

My thoughts exactly, and that was after we’d seen him on the field. Certainty over the career path of an untried player only speaks to the poster in my view.

I am looking forward to Training Camp more-so than other years. OL, CB, WR battles and D front combinations Barry and Montgomery will scheme with coach Smith of the Smiths and Gary. All three edge rushers can be schemed in as 4 techs on the line with Clark, Keke and the Rookie.

Of course seeing Love's performance too....

Conceited version: Dominating fanta$y football league (again)

Packer version: Nothing specific, but how the chips fall in our franchise's enemy year. I've laid out potential landmines numerous times here with respect to admin, coaches, and players alike...we'll see what comes to pass in the not too distant future.

Literally jumped out of my Packers logo lounger when they drafted Amari Rodgers -- not easy to do when you are 84 years old.

Cannot wait to see #8 in the slot. Actually, cannot wait to see #8 wherever MLF plays him.

I'm really excited about possibly seeing Love play. He could be great, he could be mediocre, he could be trash. Nobody knows, and that's what makes it really interesting.

The summer can't end fast enough!

I'm interested in seeing the Packers rule the division, and getting to the Super Bowl. They have the talent. They've been so close for two years, now. It's time to get to the Show. Forget the media, and the pundits. This team has what it takes to win it all.

1) AJ Dillion Anihilating and running over a safety in the hole
2) Kylin Hill very much surprising people.....
3) Amari Rodgers on Special Teams
4) Jaire Pick 6, some QB will be dumb enough to throw at him
5) How Deguara is used as an "F" Back
6) Slaton at the Nose, can he knock the center on his ass? The D-line could be sneaky good with him being a starter or Keke making a jump
7) Rashan Gary's ascent to All Pro
8) Who plays QB? Yes this is number 8..........

Top Ten things I’m most excited about for the Packers this season:

1. Seeing Jordan Love prove himself as QB1 for the Packers.
2. Watching Matt LaFleur’s offense run as intended.
3. How they use Jaire Alexander, Eric Stokes and Kevin King, and their effectiveness.
4. Development of Gary & Savage.
5. Thunder, Lightening & Swiss (Dillon. Jones, Deguara) running the rock.
6. Big turnover with better players at bottom of roster.
7. Maurice Drayton and Joe Barry improving their units.
8. TJ Slaton & Kingsley Keke lighting it up.
9. KR & PR scores for the Packers.
10. Amari Rodgers, a true slot WR going to work again in Green Bay.

My top five:

1. Getting to see an actual pre-season; I love seeing the underdogs who shine or flash potential, and I really missed it last year.
2. Finally seeing my pre-draft crush AJ Dillon regularly get some carries!
3. The non-AR QBs, not just Love; I'm interested in Bortles, Dolegala, and Benkert too!
4. The battle for DB positions: both CB and S look deeply stacked. Who will rise?
5. Bailey Gaither and Devin Funchess. Are one or both 53 worthy?
