Fantasy Football 2017: Packers Predictions, Likes/Dislikes, and Week 10 Rankings

Packers Predictions

  • Aaron Jones will get back on track – Jones managed just 12 yards on five carries against the Lions. The game flow against the Bears should work in his favor as he looks to bounce back.
  • Brett Hundley will fail to reach 200 yards passing – The Bears have held three of the last five teams they have faced to under 200 yards passing. This has the makings of a run-heavy game for Green Bay.
  • Neither team puts up 20 points – The Bears have failed to score 20 in five of their eight games in 2017, while the Packers have scored less than 20 in three consecutive contests. Those looking to see good offense are better off watching the matchup between the Giants and 49ers.

Hits – dislikes: Andy Dalton (QB24), Marcus Mariota (QB16), Kirk Cousins (QB23), C.J. Anderson (RB48), A.J. Green (WR66), Nelson Agholor (WR45/WR49), Kenny Stills (WR52/WR48), Jason Witten (TE37).

Misses – dislikes: Tyrod Taylor (QB2), Jay Ajayi (RB10/RB13), Frank Gore (RB21/RB20), Tevin Coleman (RB19/RB24), Alshon Jeffrey (WR3).

DNP – Martellus Bennett (dislike).

Week 9 score: 16/27 (59%). Season: 132/238 (56%).

Likes

  • Matthew Stafford – Stafford is heating up and the Browns have allowed an average of 21.9 points to quarterbacks on the road.
  • Ryan Fitzpatrick – The Jets have allowed every road quarterback(s) they have faced to score at least 18.8, and that includes games against the Browns and Dolphins. Evans being out puts a damper on Fitz’s upside, but his floor should be safe.
  • Orleans Darkwa – Darkwa has had 65+ rushing yards in three of his last four and he faces a 49ers team that has allowed 95+ rushing yards in seven of their nine games. He is a great streaming option this week.
  • Jordan Howard – The Packers have allowed over 100 yards and/or one or more rushing touchdowns to every team other than the Seahawks in week 1. Howard has gotten at least 19 touches in every game since week 2.
  • Sterling Shepard – Shepard returned to the lineup and immediately saw nine targets. The 49ers have been better against receivers recently, but Shepard is a solid WR3 option nonetheless.
  • Devin Funchess – The Dolphins have allowed the third most touchdowns to receivers over the last four weeks. Funchess has a great shot at reaching the end zone this week.
  • Cameron Brate – Brate should be the Bucs top target with Evans out, and the Jets have allowed the most points to tight ends since week 5.
  • Evan Engram – The 49ers started off strong against tight ends, but have since trailed off. Engram has been one of the more reliable players at an otherwise scarce position.

Other likes: Tyrod Taylor vs. NO, Josh McCown @ TB, Aaron Jones @ Chicago, Jerick McKinnon @ WAS, Emmanuel Sanders vs. NE, Mohamed Sanu vs. DAL.

Dislikes

  • Philip Rivers – Six of the eight quarterbacks to face the Jaguars have scored single-digit fantasy points, and none have posted more than 13.
  • Kirk Cousins – His line is beat up, Crowder and Reed are hurt, and the Vikings have allowed the fourth fewest points to opposing quarterbacks.
  • Adrian Peterson – The Seahawks are not impossible to run on, but Peterson will not be very fresh four days after logging 37 carries.
  • Frank Gore – The arrow is trending downward for Gore and upward for the Steelers run defense.
  • Keenan Allen – Allen has disappointed over the last few weeks and now he will square off against Jacksonville’s shut-down secondary.
  • Larry Fitzgerald – Fitz has scored just once in his last 10 games against Seattle and Drew Stanton doesn’t exactly inspire confidence. Nevertheless, he’s a decent option in PPR.
  • Jason Witten – Witten has been hit-or-miss this year, and the Falcons have allowed just one score to the tight end position.
  • Julius Thomas – Thomas turned back the clock against the Raiders, posting a line of 6/84/1, though I wouldn’t bet on that happening again in Carolina. The Panthers have allowed the seventh fewest yards to opposing tight ends.

Other dislikes: Jacoby Brissett vs. PIT, Marcus Mariota vs. CIN, Lamar Miller @ LAR, Ameer Abdullah vs. CLE, Josh Doctson vs. MIN, Kelvin Benjamin vs. NO.

Martellus Bennett was on my fantasy team. Just heard the Pack released him citing failure to disclose an injury. There is more to that. Always is. Good riddance. He dropped too many passes and probably was a distraction. His type doesn't fit in Green Bay.

I cut him from my fantasy team almost a month ago. Glad the Packers are rid of his nonsense.

Jeremy, I cut him a few weeks ago as well. I didn't envision this happening.

@Packer fan, I agree with you that there is more to it. It'll be interesting to see how that situation develops in the coming days.

A Rod is cementing his status as league MVP with each passing week.

How about picking up and edge rusher or a veteran DB.

There aren't any pass rushers out there that will be an improvement on what they currently have. At this point, they're probably just better off just riding it out. It's essentially a lost season anyway.

A signing disaster is cut during our disaster season! No bad news moving forward will surprise me.

The Packers are toast this season! Play out the scheduled and lets see what the kids can do. I believe it's entirely possible the Packers lose all of their remaining games this season and will be in position for a high draft pick. maybe 3,rd 4,th or 5th overall. It's time to clean house and lets start with Dom Capers! Go back to a 4-3 defense with an emphasis on a effective pass rush to mask some really crappy secondary talent. Good bye Martellus Bennett and thanks for nothing you wackadoo!

I guess there is a reason why the M Bennetts of the football world don't stay put for long. Just another mistake by the Packers signing him and letting Cook walk. I won't deny I was pumped when they signed him. Just another moment is this disaster of a season, this sucks.
