Former Packers News: Scott Wells Released, Will Blackmon Signed
As part of a flurry of activity across the NFL on Monday before the start of free agency, a pair of former Packers players are in the news.
The St. Louis Rams have reportedly released center Scott Wells, a former Pro Bowler with the Packers, according to Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com:
Rams have informed OT Jake Long and C Scott Wells of their release. Moves save the team about $12 million in salary-cap space.

Wells' release did not hit the NFL's transaction wire on Monday, but another former Packer did.
Cornerback Will Blackmon signed with the Seahawks, joining ex-Packers executive John Schneider out in Seattle.
Blackmon was cut by the Jaguars in February. He was drafted by the Packers in 2006.
