Game Recap: Injuries, Incompetence, Insult in 15-9 Loss to Lions

Injury-plagued Packers run out of steam in comeback bit to lowly Lions.

Injuries, injuries, injuries. The Packers aren't that good to begin with, but when you take away players like Romeo Doubs, Christian Watson, Rashan Gary, Eric Stokes, Aaron Jones, Jon Runyan, Jr. and David Bakhtiari in the same game, it's going to be tough sledding. The Packers played a tough, but bad, team and had chances to put their stamp on it early, but the turnovers killed them. They just cannot leave 14 points on the field in any game and expect to win. With games coming up against Dallas, Tennessee and Philly, it's a legitimate question to ask if they'll win a game before December. It will, however, be nice to be back at Lambeau for Mike McCarthy's return.

Allen Lazard takes a hit in the Packers' 15-9 loss to the Lions.

Allen Lazard takes a hit in the Packers' 15-9 loss to the Lions.

First Quarter

The Lions started with the ball, and used their three best players to quickly move down to scoring range. Chunk plays from former Packer Jamaal Williams, Amon-Ra St. Brown and D'Andre Swift had the Lions at the Packers 10, but after some stops, were forced to a 4th and 1 from the 7. A pressured Jared Goff threw incomplete after Rashan Gary hit him right as he threw it, giving the ball to Green Bay.

Out of the gate, Aaron Rodgers connected with Romeo Doubs for 18 yards on a quick strike. However, Romeo Doubs left the game with an ankle injury and wouldn't return, hurting an already very thin receiver group. On third down, Aaron Rodgers used his legs in man coverage to rush for 15 yards and extend the drive. A bubble screen to Watkins for 9 and AJ Dillon run gained another first. Aaron Jones then got his first carry of the game for 8, then out of pony, Dillon took one for 7.

After a short completion to Josiah Deguara, Rodgers rolled out on 3rd-and-1 and threw a high pass to Big Dog Marcedes Lewis to get down to the 5. But on the first down pass attempt to Allen Lazard, Rodgers' pass hit a Lion defender in the helmet, popped up in the air, and was picked in the end zone killing the drive. The Packers held the Lions to a quick three-and-out, but lost cornerback Eric Stokes in the process.

Taking over in Detroit territory after the punt, the Packers were faced with an early 3rd-and-long after a holding penalty. Rodgers went deep to Allen Lazard, hauling it in for 47 yards coming inches from the end zone. But the offensive ineptitude would rear its ugly head, with two stuffed runs and a miscommunicated incomplete pass to bring up 4th-and-goal at the 1.

Second Quarter

Lining up and snapping quickly, Rodgers rolled right on an attempted throwback to David Bakhtiari. But tracking the play nicely was rookie Aidan Hutchinson, who stepped in front of the floated pass and intercepted Rodgers again in the end zone. Two absolutely brutal plays inches from touchdowns for the Packers.

But the Packers defense, playing well to this point, ended up stopping the Lions after one first down, forcing a punt which was downed at the Packers 1. Facing a 3rd-and-5, Rodgers hit Christian Watson on the Mike McCarthy special, the quick-out to the inside trips receiver with the other two receivers blocking, for 6 yards and a first. On a scramble drill, Rodgers hit Deguara for 25 yards on a scramble drill. After a second down sack on Rodgers, he hit Jones on a quick screen for 15 yards, bringing up a 4th-and-3. Rodgers went deep to Lazard and on first glace made an unbelievable catch  for 26 yards, but replay review showed the ball hit the ground.

The Lions took advantage of the field position, chunking their way down the field - with some assistance by a 15-yard Jaire Alexander unnecessary roughness penalty - down to the Green Bay 25 with time running out in the half. After a slant to Swift, the Lions were at the 1 where they connected on a throwback pass to tight end Shane Zylstra for the touchdown. A Packers penalty moved up the PAT attempt to the 1, where the Lions elected to go for 2 and converted to give Detroit an 8-0 lead at halftime.

Third Quarter

Starting at their own 33 with Zach Tom now at left tackle in place of David Bakhtiari, the Packers were faced with an early 3rd-and-11. Rodgers went deep to a seeminly open Samori Toure, but Lions' DB Kirby Joseph batted the pass way at the last second forcing a punt.

The Lions were faced with an early 3rd-and-long of their own, and it appeared that Kingsley Enagbare had a sack of Jared Goff. But he caught a piece of Goff's helmet eliciting a roughing the passer penalty. But on the Lions next pass, Jaire Alexander stepped in front of a pass intended for St. Brown and returned it to the Detroit 23. Meanwhile, Christian Watson was on his way to the locker room with another concussion. But on the ensuing pass, Rodgers was picked off by Joseph over the middle on a pass intended for Tonyan. Just an awful day for the offense continues. To add injury to insult, Rashan Gary was seen being carted off.

The Green Bay D showed up again, however, forcing a very quick Lions 3 and out. Aided by a hands-to-the-face penalty to extend the next drive, Aaron Jones was seen going to the locker room with an ankle injury. Outmanned, Rodgers hit Tonyan for a quick 6 then off play action, hit Allen Lazard for a touchdown. The two-pointer was stopped keeping the Lions in front 8-6.

Needing a stop, the Detroit offense found some momentum. After going incomplete on 3rd and long, a Keisean Nixon holding penalty extended the drive. The Lions then went back to Jamaal Williams with 6 straight runs, then St. Brown for 25 yards to the Green Bay 15. Justin Jackson took the next carry for 11 and the Lions were right on the doorstep.

Fourth Quarter

Facing 3rd-and-goal, Goff bought enough time to hit rookie tight end James Mitchell across the middle for a touchdown. Darnell Savage seemingly left his zone post, enabling Mitchell to get open. After the PAT, it was 15-6 Lions to kickoff the fourth quarter.

On the Packers drive, Rodgers started by buying time, rolling out and hitting Tonyan over the middle for a first down. After an OPI call on Toure, the Packers faced 2nd-and-long. Rolling out Rodgers tried to hit Toure deep but it fell just short. On the insuing 3rd-and-17, Rodgers rolled, faked, and somehow managed to scamble for 19 to extend the drive. An amazing run by the old man. On 2nd-and-7, Dillon finally got some movement, running for 10 and a first. Now inside the 35, Green Bay got the ball to Kylin Hill on his first carry of the season, which resulted in another first down. Another OPI call, this time on Lazard, forced a 1st-and-20. After a throwaway, the Packers got bailed out of the jam on a pass interference call on Detroit. Now with just over 8 minutes to go, Green Bay was at the Detroit 14. Faced with 3rd-and-short inside the 10, Rodgers' pass fell incomplete to Watkins. Mason Crosby came out to kick the field goal to keep the game alive at 15-9 with 6:36 left.

The Lions' first play resulted in a holding penalty starting them off the drive with a 1st-and-20 at their own 13. Goff hit Swift on a pass over the middle, but Khrys Barnes lowered his head into Swift and picked up a 15-yard unnecessary roughness penalty. Facing a 3rd-and-1 with under 5 minutes to go, Goff connected with Mitchell to move the chains off play-action pass. Turning back to the run to kill the clock, carries by Williams of 6 and 3 brought up another 3rd-and-1. The Packers, led by Quay Walker, blew up the run for a loss of 3. Going for the kill, the Lions lined up to pass, but heavy pressure forced an incomplete Goff pass to get the ball back at the two-minute break.

Starting at their own 43, Green Bay had a chance to win the game. After a short completion to Deguara and incompletion to Dillon, Rodgers hit Dillon for the first down, but Dillon fumbled prior to getting to the stick. He recovered, but the ball touched a Lions player out of bounds just short of the marker. On fourth down, game on the line, Rodgers went deep to Toure, who caught the ball at the Lions 15. Toure was stripped, and as the ball trickled to the sideline, it was seemingly recovered by Detroit. However, the officials ruled it wasn't recovered in bounds by Detroit. There was no review, and the Packers kept the ball. After two incompletions, Rodgers and the Packers had a 3rd-and-10. Rodgers went incomplete across the middle to Amari Rodgers, and the Packers had one play to tie the game. Rodgers, running the play clock down, threw up a prayer to no one and the game was over. Five straight losses for the Packers.

What Went Right

Early offense was really good, actually, save for the plays inside the 5. They were able to move the ball at will, but the turnovers at the goal line killed them. Just a red zone disaster today.

What Went Wrong

See above! The plays inside the 1 yard line were just awful. The batted interception and throwback to Bakhtiari were just killers. This offense isn't good enough to overcome that.

Offensive MVP

Allen Lazard was the lone dude who showed up. Battling a shoulder injury, Lazard got the lone touchdown on his four-catch, 87-yard day.

Defensive MVP

It was a weird day for the defense. They either shut down the Lions, or gave up a time-consuming drive. Jaire Alexander got the interception, but other than that? Not much. I'll go with Khrys Barnes who led the team with 8 total tackles in his return from the IR.

SO. MANY. INJURIES.

Also we passed 43 times and ran it 25 times. Explanation, MLF? Also, Rodgers plays like crap. Mike Glennon could do better.

So much confusion amongst all of the players. Coaching Incompetence Alert! MLF and Barry suck. Time for the weekly arm flapping.

Also, before this game, the Lions hadn't allowed less than 27 points per game. We put up 9 points. This offense is really, really, REALLY bad. Aaron Rodgers and Matt LaFleur are to blame. They both should and deserve to be gone after this season. Fire Gute and Murhpy, too, for extending Rodgers. He is washed.

And once again, another question is when MLF sends in the two plays--a run and a pass option--how many times is Rodgers going with the pass?

In the end though, the fact that question is legitimate and LaFleur can’t override it (or won’t) if it does occur excessively is just one of the many reasons why we are here.

How about this? No one seems to be talking about the last drive.

As Tony commented; "After two incompletions, Rodgers and the Packers had a 3rd-and-10. Rodgers went incomplete across the middle to Amari Rodgers, and the Packers had one play to tie the game. Rodgers, running the play clock down, threw up a prayer to no one and the game was over. Five straight losses for the Packers."

There was enough time to get a first down. Why did they keep going to the end zone? What happened to four or five yards at a time on first and second downs? Make a manageable 3rd down. Even on fourth down they could have gone short of the goal line and got a first. Played right into the Lions' hands by not using the whole field.

Certainly Murphy should be tossed out the door. Not sure about Gute - whom I think has been handcuffed by Murphy - who seized all authority after the McCarthy era.

Yes, but he has badly whiffed in the draft a numerous amount of times - Jace Sternberger over Terry McLaurin, Darnell Savage in 2019, Quay Walker over Devin Lloyd, Devonte Wyatt, trading a 2nd-rounder for Christian Watson over staying for Alec Pierce or George Pickens, Josh Myers over Creed Humphrey, drafting Jordan Love and planning for the future instead of bolstering us as a contender and increasing our shot at a Lombardi...to name a few

Josh Myers over Creed Humphrey is one that really baffled me. Certainly anyone in management who thought that status quo for this year was in the best interest of the franchise - should be released. I hope that the Board and Executive Committee are starting to think of Presidential candidates.

While most disappointing, today's (and season's) performance should not be a complete surprise. Due to management's off-season magical thinking – the probability for a worst case scenario was appreciably higher than a best case scenario. Unfortunately (for us), management bet on themselves.

They're fighting for a top-five draft pick. Leave Rodgers in there, MLF calling the plays, let Barry keep setting the defensive scheme, don't change a thing.

Of course, Gutekunst will screw up the draft pick anyway.

Yep. With our $50Mil QB! I have never blamed AR12 all year for any of this disaster, but even a rookie QB wouldn't throw 2 interceptions in the red zone. Horrible excuse for a professional performance - by Rodgers, the OLine and for the posers that masquerade as coaches on this team!

I’m with you - I generally don’t blame ARod because there are plenty picking at that overripened low hanging fruit but I disagreed with the announcers calling that first interception bad luck. It was thrown way too low it wasn’t like the defender jumped up or anything. If anything he was crouching down and the pass still doinked off of his helmet. If you’re going to stick with your HOF QB you do it until the wheels fall off then draft his successor- not the year after they make it to the playoffs.

The trading deadline has passed so the Packers won't be sellers until the postseason. Come postseason, many of the high priced and/or older vets (Bahk, Jones, Cobb, Watkins, Amos, Lowery, etc. etc.) will be shown the door and Rodgers will retire because he will not want to be part of a rebuild. The ancient Chinese curse of "May you live in interesting times" is upon us. Hopefully it doesn't last as long as the last time (70's and 80's).........

Which is what we should've done. I can't remember if we extended Rodgers in '18 or '19? We should've traded him then if Gutey was going to draft Love in '20... Or, Gutey should've traded AR to Denver when he had the chance for a bunch of picks.

Why they extended Bakh and Aaron Jones is beyond me. Mind you I love both players, but it wasn't smart. (in hindsight, it was very stupid!) They don't even use Jones to his potential.

Gutey has made more mistakes in the last 3 years than I ever thought possible. I have to admit the one that pissed me off more than any of them was him drafting Jace instead of McLaurin...

If he'd have only traded Rodgers, let Bakh and Jones walk, we could be halfway through our rebuild. The way it stands now, we're screwed for like 2 or 3 years for sure.

We're on pace to lose 12 in a row and it wouldn't surprise me if we did.

Yes, I too am looking forward to the off season as this team is just unwatchable now. I think your list of players - outside of Jones - is a fair list to exit GB (I would add Savage, Hanson, Amari). However, with this incompetent management and coaching group, don't count on the obvious to take place. Poor performance seems to be acceptable in GB!

Didn't add Savage, Hanson or Amari to my list as they aren't highly paid, but they certainly shouldn't be part of the Packer's future. I don't want to lose Jones, but he is very highly paid next year and likely will be at the end of his career by the time the Packers are competitive again. To me that makes him a candidate for a trade.

With the sad part it didn't have to end this way. The Packers had a golden opportunity unlike anything I have seen as a Packer fan to trade Rodgers freeing up the cap and receiving a bounty of talented young players and high draft choices. What a restock that would have been. A colossal FU!

A generational mistake perpetrated by Murphy. The same man who admitted to falling asleep in TTs decline wasting the late teens and then took it on himself to hire our visionary Head Coach and take over as the final arbiter in team
Matters. If we have a board worth admitting to being a member of Murphy’s replacement search should be beginning.

That seemed a fantasy all along the watchtower. Maybe that scenario would have played out after the 2019 disaster in Santa Clara, but Rodgers is a Legacy guy. Denver was desperate to boost Hackett's debut and sell seats. The wasted pick on Love should have gone to Jonathon Taylor, then Jones wouldn't carry big Cap. A couple of key plays as usual determines the outcome, Lazard has to fall into the endzone, he has to bring in the pass on the 4th down play. Perfect pass from Rodgers. Dillon get through the gap and Rodgers doesn't force to Tonyan, the game is a W. Even if they take the 3pts QTR one, they would have prevailed. Jaire brought energy. Savage needs to see the bench.

I hate to admit I was wrong, but I was. I really thought we'd have a decent year this year. I like to try to be positive, but I'm positive Gutey has continued to make mistake after mistake and I hold Murphy accountable. That dude needs to be shown the door with grace, but he needs to go. New President hires new GM who hires new Coaches. To go from 13 - 4 to possibly 3 and 14 is on the FO.

This season has been a shit show and there's enough blame to go around so everyone gets splattered like a Truck Stop toilet!

I'm expecting Rodgers to lose to the Cowboys, Titans, Eagles, and Bears for a grand total of 9 in a row. Comes the Bye week and we lose again. Then, for the last 4 games it's the Love Fest. (We have to see what he can do in extended play time to at least make an intelligent decision about Love.)

Going to be interesting. I am finding it hard to see how we don't lose out and everyone gets fired...

Some seasons, nothing seems to go right. We as fans have been spoiled with the extended success of this team, but it’s not in the cards this season as they say. Just about everything that could go wrong has, and the way the team is playing; the only bright prospect is drafting early for a change. Of course you gotta draft well and Gute’s picks have been shaky for the most part; mainly because he keeps drafting defense and what good has it got him when you have a DC who chooses not the scheme according to the talent on the team.

This season reminds me of that egg the team laid in 2005 when for some reason they went 4-12 after going 10-6 in 2003 and 2004. Favre was the QB then, and everything just fell apart it seemed in 2005. Hopefully, this season is an aberration and not the start of a slide toward mediocrity.

I remember that. But gute can’t seem to draft well. I think we should give love his chance and if he sucks then we can maybe draft a QB. Unless gute is still here then we can draft some unknown defensive player. He needs to be gone.
As far as Barry goes I think he is determined to fit players into his scheme and not have players use their best talents and fit the defense around those talents. Dom Capers II. He needs to go ASAP.
If AR is hurt by putting love in too bad. I believe he is still a great QB but surrounded by poor coaching and drafting. If he stays he needs to redo his contract.
MLF seems lost with Hackett gone. Not sure what the solution is.
I see lots of current players and coaches. It will just come down to how they are replaced and by who. GPG.

I think ARod is giving us plenty of ammo for drafting a good QB in the next draft. Sure we can see what Love can do, but if he starts winning he could screw up the whole plan.

I had the same thought: That this team is reminiscent of the 2005 "Super Bowl or bust" team that finished 4-12. It's not their year. That season led to the demotion of Mike Sherman from his GM position, and he was then fired as head coach after one lame duck season. I'm beginning to wonder if some kind of shake-up is due after this year as well. Aaron Rodgers, at the very least, needs to be gone, no matter what the cap hit is. And I'm beginning to wonder about Matt LaFleur. I would still keep Gutekunst as GM though, at least for now.

No way I would keep Gutey. If we had an owner, Murphy, Gutey, MaLF, and Barry would all be gone today, but we don't have an owner...

Extending Rodgers and drafting Love was Gutey's first massive mistake. Then, not trading Rodgers last off-season was his second huge mistake. Extending Bakh and extending Aaron Jones were just dumb moves, no matter how much we love them as people.

You can't keep someone around who continually does the exact opposite of what he should do.

My god, even the Lions seem to be better than GB! The Lions! This is how far down we have sunk. Without Adams to prop up this offense, we see how truly bad this offense truly is - even with a $50Mil QB. We see how bad a defense with 7 First round picks can be under a truly incompetent DC. And this was another all-in year for GB. But true to GB management standards, it was a half-assed attempt.

What a truly bad football organization this has become...

Pray for Rodgers to retire and free up a little cap space.

Well, well, not so well...

The Packer FO knew all along they were headed for the cellar...see player underground parking.

I agree, they need to see what they have in Love in real game situations and see which players truly give a damn (pride/paycheck). Will they play harder for Love? The WRs on the same page with the time put in? This upcoming draft class is supposed to have some talent at QB to work with. I tip my cap to #12 for his talent and past success. But I SO wanted them to trade #12 last year. Nothing against him but I was looking at the best interest of the team mid to long term (that is my nature).

#12 just doesn't seem to want to put in the work any longer to be the best version of himself for the teams' success. Fair or not, he is the face of the franchise. That is sad because it appears Murphy allowed this enabling to take place and LaF appears not to upset the apple cart. For some reason, I have more faith in Gute and would like for him to take over for Murph. I will be curious to see the identity of the team once #12 is not on the roster.

As always GPG!

I said it last week and I think the officials confirmed today - the Packer receivers get no respect at all, the offensive PI on 13 was ridiculous, he was running outside and the defender jammed him - somehow that is blocking downfield and then at the end of the game, the defender rides him for 15 yards downfield and runs him out of bounds and that is not a penalty.

NFL wanted Rodgers to retire after the COVID issue last year - heck they even game the pass rusher two full steps before he lauchedhimself into 12 after the ball was thrown - any normal time an obvious roughing, but not against AR anymore - at least this time he completed the TD for the only touchdown. I actually thought Rodgers showed a little effort today with the runs, thumb just isn't allowing him to be accurate, which with no one to throw to anyhow makes no difference.

This is a bad team, for sure. But I don't blame Gute. He had a tough salary cap to manage, shed some contracts, and brought in best free agents he could. Sometimes, it just doesn't work. Some great prospect are busts. Some UFDAs are stars. Every team has plenty of both. I lay the blame on MLF that just can't get the right schemes and get any of the units in synch. An oline with Jenkins and Bahk yet can barely open up lanes and give the QB time. That is coaching/game planning and schemes. Teams such as NYJ, NYG and Detroit look great, opeing up 6-8 yard runs, and GB can barely get 3. They hit quick passes, and even Goff and NYG and NYJ back up QBs have time in the pocket. I guess their coaches know how to get JAGs to play great. GB doesn't have any unit playing well. None. Oline can't give QB time. Receivers weak. RBs average. TEs average. Dline gets pushed and can't collapse the pockets, and yields against the run. The purported best backfield constantly gives up chunks, and have few turnovers. The great pairing of ILBs....uh....average.

MLF did well, for 3 seasons...but time to go. He has been figured by opponents. Best thing he can do is change QB and see if he can break the code that opponents have deciphered. Rodgers certainly is part of the problem, not seeing recievers, and not playing up his receivers. Cant just blame the receivers. Rodgers misses plenty and is chucking the ball. Time for the bench. Play Jordan. Season is over.

The front office needs to answer that question. #75 has been there and ready for his chance, yet they don’t put him in? Check his college stats, he can contribute but it’s clear whoever is making the decisions should not be! The season speaks for itself. Rogers said it himself. Give the other a chance! LaF needs to show some creativity and accountability. He should grow a unibrow and promise not to groom it until the Packers get a victory. To show we mean business as fans...we should make up some foamy unibrows to wear at the games. Move over Cheeseheads, make room for the Cheddar uni's.

Plus people sitting behind you may actually see the game (not sure if this is good or bad currently).

*full disclosure: if I could look like LaF, I probably would be married by now and not be looking at old National Geographic magazines.

I don't even know where to start so I'll just dive in.

I know I'm beating a dead horse, but I said in the off-season and I'll say it again: trading Rodgers would've been the smartest thing for this franchise to do from a long-term perspective. Instead, they took a short-term view, caved in to Rodgers -- even with Denver foaming at the mouth for a QB!

And now......here we are at 3-6 with no end in sight. I hope the front office is happy. Rodgers price was sky high just 7 months ago. A lot can change in that time, and while it's more than just missing Davante Adams -- they fed off each other's greatness -- it's painfully obvious that this isn't working anymore. I just wish the damn front office could've seen that after the Niners' playoff game in January.

This team can't figure out its identity because it doesn't even know itself.....as Nagler has pointed out again, and again, and again and AGAIN -- the strength of this team is within its RBs! And yet, they resist that. Why? One of the things that has impressed me is LaFleur's humility, not his hubris. But it seems like Rodgers really is now running the show, and LaFleur and him are not on the same page.

Did anyone else feel like today was 2018 with McCarthy again? No motion, no illusion of complexity. Just let Rodgers sling it around the yard, slow developing isolation routes, 1-v-1, etc. It's absolutely maddening to watch, but even more maddening to not watch them hand the ball off to Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon more. Especially after they put up 200 yds rushing on the Bills no less!

But, no. That was just a mirage. LaFleur and Rodgers fell back into their bad habits of hero ball and slinging it all over the place.

Boy, McCarthy's revenge will be sweet on Sunday. I wouldn't be surprised if Dallas shuts us out in Lambeau. Add on top of it all the injuries and 35-3 is definitely a possibility.

The only good that comes out of each loss is the heat gets on the coaching staff and front office for accountability for such a shit team.

I hope they trade Rodgers as soon as possible in the off-season if they still can, but my guess is Rodgers will come back for another crappy 2023 season, and we'll have to sit through it while he rakes in his $59 million he's due next year.

ARod: "We tried it your way last week and we didn't win. This week we will try it my way."

And we still didn't win. Can't overcome a slump with half your starters injured. Good to see Hill back out there but I don't see running the ball a bunch winning this game.

"The only good that comes out of each loss is the heat gets on the coaching staff and front office for accountability for such a shit team."

Comprehensive chronic organizational failures come home to roost eventually.

This season has become not one of "will they make the playoffs" (why does Jim Mora come to mind immediately?). It is now seriously a question of whether this team can win more than one or two more games this season. Even the "easy" games against teams with bad records are losses. The only "easy" teams left on the schedule are the Bears and Lions. And the Bears have the same record, while Detroit just won. So, the Packers might be favored in two games the rest of the season. This give me no joy or satisfaction to write this. To me, these are facts. And shocking, distressing, and depressing facts. I lived through the '70's-90's, before Wolf came in, hired Holmgren, traded for Favre, and turned the team into perennial contenders. The only question being, is this an aberration, or a harbinger of what is coming?

Time to sit Watkins followed by Rodgers. Watkins always seems to be either confused and running the wrong routes or dropping the catches. Coming to Rodgers with the way he played today it's better to sit him and start Love and at least what love is made. Force him to retire next year, I know we will be in a cap hell next year but that's ok we can draft high for this year and the coming year and be ready the following year.

I would let love start after the cowboys game otherwise it is going to be really a tough start for him against a top Cowboys defense.

Rodgers had his worst game today, no doubt. I really think the thumb has been bothering him A LOT this entire time. The guy didn't just lose his touch suddenly. He has made it pretty clear it hasn't gotten any better, either.....and he basically re-hurts it every game on a snap or hit. I thought I had read somewhere a couple weeks ago that someone asked if it was broken and he refused to answer.

Again, Rodgers was bad today.....but this is probably the first real game that was on him, IMHO. I was really willing to give the new WR corp. a chance....but man, they've been bad. They have literally gotten zero from Watson.....zero from Watkins in all but 1 game.....zero from Cobb for 4 games due to the injury.....Doubs has a decent game followed by totally disappearing. The play-calling has been horrible....like the best you can come up with is a pass to a guy who has had 4 knee surgeries who couldn't even finish the game? I mean, WTF? That being said, they did try to run Dillon twice on the goal line and he failed......which contradicts said they should have done against the Skins or Giants when they were in the same position. They just can't get anything going....and I really don't know who is most at fault.....is it MLF, is it Steno, is it not having Davante, it is ARod, is it Gute for bringing in crappy WR's? Is it Getsy and Hackett being gone? I mean.....is it all?

The defense. Don't get me started on them, either. Our offense has so bad that we have swept a lot of defensive issues under the rug. How many touchdowns are we going to give up or have called back because of stupid defensive penalties? Enegbare had the roughing the passer, Jaire commits a stupid unsportsmanlike penalty on the drive they scored on, etc. Just stupid, undisciplined play. Sad part is the offense is so bad this year they will keep Barry on for next year even though he is 99% of the issue. Also, how many games does our offense finally get within a score just to have the defense give up a touchdown on the ensuing possession? This has happened in like 3 games......they can't get stops when they need to. It was 8-6 and they gave up a TD on the next possession.

Oh, and I heard Gary may have a torn ACL....so yeah, we have that going for us now, too.

Nothing will change the Packers descent until Murphy the Meddler is gone.

And if he was fired today, the organization will take years to rebuild financially and on the Personnel side, FO, coaches, players.

Who are the real leaders on this team? I simply do not know. I expect many players with expiring contracts will do a DaVante Adams and just get the hell out of Dodge.

Many questions thats for sure...my biggest regret is that they didn't trade AJones to a contender or any team that would use him and his skill set effectively...MLF won't use him much, he more likes the plodding Dillon...Jones could be used so many ways, he's a weapon thats badly misused in GB..next year should be very interesting..

It's obvious that Stenavich is in over his head and NOT the one who should be running the offense, but like last year with Drayton and special teams, each game shows proof the team is not prepared yet MLF will do nothing until the offseason. And what is the problem calling plays? I lost count of how many times the play clock was at 1 or expired when the ball was snapped. We get out of the huddle with 10 seconds left on the play clock every play and barely get lined up.
