Another way GB can defend against Barkley in the running game is to get an early lead and force the Giants to throw.
Tommy DeVito has had some decent games of late, but he REALLY shines in those ads for Jersey Mike’s subs.

Flollow the blueprint from the last 2 games. Build a lead, stop the Giants run game, force them to be one dimensional on offense and play aggressively on both sides of the ball and most importantly win the LOS. The only way the Packers could use this week is if they return to beating themselves. Go Pack Go!

I remember when the Favre led Packers played, and lost to, the Colts. The Colts were one of the worst teams, record-wise, in the NFL, that year. The Packers played down to their level, instead of rising above them and it cost them a game. The Packers went on to win the Super Bowl, that season, and it still eats at me on how they could lose to a team like Indy. I have always been leery of teams that should be pushovers, for the Packers, because I have seen the team play down to the level of their competition, before. I hope MLF has these guys prepared to give the Giants a beat down. GO PACK, GO!!!

We all know how true the saying is, "on any given day" in the NFL. It used to be, "on any given Sunday" but, that doesn't work anymore. Now you have to add the bad penalty calls or non-calls to it and it's really a crapshoot now.

The main thing is to just control what you can, play clean, smart and stay/get healthy.

I know it’s cliche but get out in front and have the Giants chase the game. They are a beaten team and you don’t want to let them get a sniff that the game is going to be close. Just look at New England last night.

Not every game against a weaker opponent is a trap game. Not every article needs to address that concept.

This is just a game that one shouldn’t lose on paper. This isn’t a veteran team with a veteran QB used to winning that’s been cruising all season. The memory of losing should still be fresh. Moreover, we haven’t been sitting back with backups in as we cruise the 4th quarter. Games have still been tight till very late.

There should be no hidden excuse of arrogance and hubris on a team with our record and season to date. If there is we’ve got issues.

Weather permitting if the Packers win the coin toss TAKE THE BALL unless there's 25 MPH winds howling through Met Life Stadium. Hell, even then, TAKE the ball.

The last few weeks the Packers have opened the game on offense and done very well scoring TDs. The absolute best thing for this team on Monday Night would be a nice long 7 minute drive comprised of a nice mix of the run and pass. The offense has been starting fast. Let that continue until they don't.

Then...All Gas No Brakes!!

Young team, winning some huge games against some top teams is a good recipe for getting in front of yourself. Aside from the emotional highs, this team still struggles with a lot of fundamentals. So these Packers are a prime candidate for a punch in the face. Matt Lafleur and Joe Barry will earn their money if they can keep these bucks moving forward.

In many ways we are the ones that need to keep ourselves in check. My expectations have been rising ever since Detroit. I am thinking well-oiled and more consistency each week. Playoffs - hell yeah. It was only weeks since improvement and better fundamentals were the metrics that I yearned for. Be wary of success. It has to be earned every day. Just ask the Lions and Chiefs.

Play in control and with intensity. Impose their will on the Giants and they will win. Anything less, and they may lose a game they should win.
It's simple, yet so much fun for us to watch. I love watching this year's team.

Locals say Admiral Akbar was seen at 1265 earlier this week. Just what I heard.

Giants are dwarves as a bad 4-8 team having only defeated the Cards, Pats, and Comms (twice). Their last 5 games will also be their toughest stretch of the season with 2 vs the Eagles (who need to bring their A game for all 17 games racing with the Cowboys). Giants will likely finish 4-13 with a 2024 demolition & another rebuild.

Packer coaches and players know this. It will be VERY easy to look past this game. It will also be easy to look past the Bucs (almost as bad as the Giants), and then the Panthers (worse) before meeting the Ugly Purple on the road.

The next 3 games are quite a test for MLF. Can he coach youngest team in the NFL & maintain a laser focus on the next game? During this trifecta will he play each game to win? Or will he rest certain players nursing nagging but not disqualifying injuries? Will he simplify the game plan or continue to creatively attack on Offense?

Will he be cautious or courageous? History says cautious. I am looking for courageous.

Focus on this game like the last 2 games and play one game at a time! Biggest thing to me is don't overlook any team due to their record. Look at Pittsburgh last 2 games! Don't be the Steelers!

3. Contain Barkley
4. Force them to pass
5. Win the turnover battle

These next five games are all trap games. Here's how the Pack will lose. The opponent will run the ball succesfully, get just enough passing to control the clock and game and Love may not be able to bring them back in the 4th quarter.

The offense with Lafluer will be aggressive. That is his nature. But Barry is rarely aggressive. But that is what Barry needs to do. At least until the Pack are ahead. Like these last few weeks. But allowing the run game to flourish and making Devito look like a good QB by not being aggressive is a surefire way to lose a game.

Not getting "suckered punched" by lessor teams is example of a strong, balanced, focused team. Good test for this team. A good learning experience, for team as a whole, as well as parts.
The O Line is the weakest link. Especially the run game. The straight ahead power game.
MLF is hiding the weakness with cute & pretty end-a-rounds, that won't last. DC's will stop that. Without a solid run game we are just a 1 trick pony.
1 trickers are easy to stop.
Got to get the power straight ahead run game going, then it is about impossible to stop JL.

I find it absurd that this is being described as a "trap game." It's not so long ago that we were talking about "get right" games, which turned out to be "get right" games for the opposing teams. The Packers are coming off two impressive wins, but they are far from establishing themselves as a legitimately good team. My hope is that the Packers themselves are not thinking of this as a trap game but rather as a game against a team that is roughly their equal and that beat them last year.

This has been my main point since the draft! 100% effort, from every player, on every down. I think we saw that against KC.

Not complete, no. The screen pass needs everything to go right. I HATE seeing a completed pass resulting in a tackle for loss. I'd much rather see at least a few yards progress, which technically wouldn't be a screen pass I guess. And yet the screen pass is a thing of beauty when it works, and no doubt is part of MLF's offense. It can be debated how important it is while #9 is out.

Another overstatement. Improved, yes. From 0 to adequate. Not dominant or consistent, but improved.

JL10 has been getting the ball out quickly. Constant pressure has been a thing, and he's adjusted. I'm not sure how much this is the actual improvement that we see on the O line? It's certainly a factor in that it helps them.

I want to see this O hang 70 points on somebody, with or without #9.

Trap game? Maybe.

Also: Maybe the first game we get to see Clifford under center in a regular season NFL game.
