James Lofton, Aaron Kampman to announce Packers' draft picks

-- As is the yearly tradition, the Green Bay Packers will have a couple of special guests on day two of the 2019 NFL Draft.

NFL Communications confirmed that Hall of Fame wide receiver James Lofton will announce the team's second-round pick, as well as former defensive end Aaron Kampman announcing their third-round pick.

Lofton was given the privilege of announcing the Packers' second-round pick in 2014 -- a pick that turned into Davante Adams.

A first-round pick at sixth-overall in 1978, Lofton spent nine seasons in Green Bay and accumulated 9,656 of his 14,004 career receiving yards; a number that would top Donald Driver's all-time receiving mark of 10,137 by nearly 4,000 yards.

Lofton still finished second in team history in receiving yards, fourth in receptions and eighth in touchdowns.

Kampman, drafted by the Packers in the fifth-round in 2002, was selected to back-to-back Pro Bowls in 2006 and 2007. He was the anchor of the team's defensive line opposite Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila for a large part of the 2000s.

Kampman ranks fifth in team history with 54 sacks and second in "QB hits" with 100.

The Packers currently hold the No. 44 overall pick in the second round and No. 75 in the third round. However, general manager Brian Gutekunst could very well maneuver his abundance of draft capital into a better position.

I'd love to see Favre announce a pick. Love him or hate him, he was always entertaining.

Totally agree, Favre would be great, he did a lot for this franchise and the league in general.

I'm just relieved to read a forward-looking article, even one as minor as this. Do we really need to dissect the Rodgers-McCarthy relationship anymore!!?? Can't wait for the draft!

It's about trying to stay relevant during the off season. It will all be forgotten by the time the draft starts. Thanks, Since '61

James. My No 1 Packer WR. Great choice. Aaron too.
Unrelated. I'm not a Bucks fan, (well maybe a little this year) but Giannis is by far the best player in the league. Watching greatness and he's smart. As I write this Lew Alcindor comes to mind. Check out Giannis in the final minute of Sixers game. Wow., just wow.

So the @44 pick by Lofton will be offense. The #75 pick by Kampman will be defense. Mock : Lindstrom (Lofton) Renell Rhen (Kampman)
