Kenny Clark works with rehab group, could miss Lions game

The team has also added a defensive and offensive lineman.

There are still a few practices to go, but early indications don't sound good for Kenny Clark to go this week against the Lions after suffering a groin injury in Minnesota.

From Rob:

Olivia Reiner points out an addition along the offensive line as well:

Winn, 6' 4" 293 lbs, should have at least a passing knowledge of the defensive scheme from his time in Cleveland while Mike Pettine was the heaed coach. He is a former 6th round pick for the Browns who has also played for the Colts and Broncos.

The 6-7, 313 lb Pope originally signed with the Lions as a rookie free agent last year out of San Diego State. He has also spent time with the 49ers and Jaguars.

Sounds like a couple of JAGS to get us through until Clark returns on defense and in case of emergency on the OL.
Thanks, Since ‘61

Winn was a good player in his early years, but the injuries just robbed him of his prime. Maybe he can make a recovery?

They are literally just plunking a 300 pound body with some NFL experience in the middle of the D line and hoping he can (if you excuse the metaphor) plug the gap for a few weeks,

I hope Clark's injury isn't a lingering one that is going to be reaggravated at another point--I'm not sure how well the "next man up" approach is going to work here.

Depends on the severity, but a groin injury can easily take several weeks. I'll be thrilled if he only misses 1-2 games.

Cautiously optimistic to see Clark & Martin rehabbing, but glad to see that Turner, Adams, Greene and Patrick all practiced today.

Curious about releasing Mack(DT) and signing Winn(DE). He hasn't played football since 2016.

Luckily, Gute was smart to sign Daylon Mack right? Oh,wait. He was released a couple hours ago.

He certainly was a WOW factor

For years, you bashed TT for never turning the bottom of the roster and holding "his guys"...

...& now you are upset BG is constantly doing so to try to build the depth?

I don't get it. Which approach is wrong?
Or is the GB GM just wrong no mater what?

Something from the .99 cent store is worth .99 cents. The products can be of a wide variety, but something makes them all worth .99 cents. Damaged package, expiration date, discontinued, emptying my desk drawer, selling lint from my pocket, the garbage that came from another garbage bin etc.

That makes no sense. What do you expect to find at this point?? He's trying to get incrementally better at little risk.... hence the bottom of the roster.

Would you rather he didn't try to get better throughout the year?

Mack had a good first step but not much else so it seems. I was one of those who hoped for more. Perhaps the good news from this is that the team expects Clark sooner rather than later.

I am not normally one to play fantasy football, but isn't there another DL out there better than Winn, who hasn't been on a roster since 2016?

Maybe the new PS rules kind of force this sort of thing.

Not to be a downer but he looked fat and very out of shape leaving the field. If I had to guess, hope I'm wrong, I see an extended leave, maybe it for three weeks or longer.

Didn't notice him being fat. Kenny doesn't strike me as the type to get a new deal and then quit working as hard, but sometimes it happens.

Any chance for some Snacks Harrison, or did he sign somewhere?

Curious to this too- seems he'd be a help against the run even after Clark returns. My guess is he is asking for a multi year deal and/or too much $$

They tried to land Snacks earlier this offseason. He doesn't want to play. Not for the Packers anyway.
