NFL could reportedly shorten preseason
The Packers may only play two preseason games.
By PackerAaron
Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network reports that discussions are being had about potentially shortening this year's preaseason down to two games.
The NFL and NFLPA are discussing the possibility of shortening the 2020 preseason, per sources.
Nothing finalized or imminent, but multiple team executives informed of talks currently believe they could end up playing two preseason games, rather than four.

The Packers are scheduled to play the Cardinals and Browns at home and the Giants and Chiefs on the road this preseason.
Interestingly enough, earlier on Wednesday the Packers announced kickoff of the team’s preseason game against the Giants was moved up to 6pm. ET. It was originally scheduled for 7pm. ET.
In addition, ESPN reports that most teams, including the Packers, will be reporting for camp on July 28th, in accordance with language agreement that was agreed upon during CBA discussions prior to its approval back in March.

This was always expected, but I don't see what good it does. It's going to harm the careers of a lot of players, it's going to harm the roster building, it's going to hurt revenues, and it's really not going to do much to prevent the spread of Coronavirus. We haven't seen a huge uptick from all these states opening despite far more testing. In fact, we've seen the cases/deaths go down.

Actually, we HAVE seen an uptick since all these states are opening. We are just beginning to see the effects of Memorial Day gatherings -- Texas, North Carolina, South Carolina, California, Oregon, Florida, Arkansas, Mississippi, Utah, Arizona all trending higher.

Check Arizona since Memorial day. I wouldn't take the virus lightly.

This is good! There is no need to have more than 2 preseason games, even without Covid -19. The league should make this permanent.
Preseason games are injury factories that water down the rosters before the regular season even begins. The coaches know at least 40-45 of their 53 man roster before preseason games even begin.
2 games are enough for the coaches to figure out their 8-13 spots and their PS members.
If the league is truly concerned about player safety they can eliminate half of the unnecessary preseason contact by removing half of the games. The players, especially the veterans will support it since they are not paid for preseason games. Practice against another team plus a scrimmage or 2 can make up for 2 preseason games. Thanks, Since ‘61

I would not mind if the preseason was shorter if it means that we get football in the fall.

I also think so. Sometimes I wish I knew more languages and cultures to understand the behavior of several persons. That's why I started to. learn Spanish. I like Spanish sports and everything connected to their culture. I usually try to read more information https://preply.com/en/blog/basic-spanish-words-and-phrases/ and enrich my vocabulary with new words. Articles and blogs help me with that.
