No Phone Records

Well, I suspected the Packers had to have something more than phone records. As it turns out, they don't have phone records AT ALL, according to two separate sources. Not only do the Packers NOT have phone records, but Favre doesn't even have a Packers-issued phone.

That seems to contradict Jason Wilde's article today. (http://www.madison.com/wsj/home/sports/packers/297571)
He says "Two NFL sources said Wednesday that, in addition to cell-phone records of calls between Favre and Minnesota coach Brad Childress and offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell, the club also claims Favre sent text messages back-and-forth with the two Vikings coaches."
And "A league source confirmed previous media reports that Favre was using a Packers-issued cell phone in his alleged communications with Bevell and Childress."

It's interesting that the source quoted in the GBPG is said to be "close to Favre" - according to PFT the Packers are trying to hide the fact that they gave Favre a phone as it might be a cap violation. But if that is the case, why on Earth would someone from Favre's camp say there was no Packer-issued phone?
I really can't wait for training camp to start...
