Its easy to second guess why the Packers should have taken an earlier bye week - especially after the London/Giants game. I don't have issue with that. What I have issue with is the lack of evaluative, longer term thinking with this organization in general. Complex problems usually need short term and longer term answers to solve them successfully in the business world. I think the same would apply to football won-loss records.

Lets face it - the chances are slim to none that GB will make the playoffs this year. Nothing much they can do about the FO issues and the Mark Murphy regime in the short term. But they can certainly start to expand their evaluation of current players with more playing time. Tom, Love and Wyatt are perfect examples. Give them more snaps in different situations. How about a kick off specialist to send the ball out of the end zone to account for Crosby's aging leg? These just a couple of examples of short term changes that may result in better results down the line.

The offense and STs seem to have some hope now. But the defense as a whole? Good players on paper but brutally coached. MLFs' defense of Barry is ruining his reputation as an elite HC and will make him look hypocritical when he is forced to replace him in the off season.

But hope springs eternal and lets pray some short term sanity comes into play now for longer term results. GPG

I'm still hoping Barry does the honorable thing and resigns his position as DC that way he could have a chance at becoming the LBs coach, which is what he can do and still save face.
