Eliminate all decent free agents, they want to be paid to play and the pack spent all their money on one guy. Bad mistake that will haunt for years to come

It will haunt the Packers for YEAR to come, provided they get the deal done.

Short of trading someone to open cap space we have no other options. We sure don't need to push any more money back. We have too much there now.

Even though Andy Herman said we are stuck with Savage, I think this could be a way to open some flexability. If, and that's a big if, we could find a trade partner that had a player we could use and would take on Savages's salary, that would open almost $8 million. I would guess the Packers have been trying to do this already but I haven't read anything suggesting trading Savage. Especially if he isn't in our future plans. There are other safety needy teams that probably have someone they aren't in love with anymore that wouldn't cost us much coming back. Denver is one of those and has a player we could use.

I have for 2 years wanted Green Bay to try to trade for Denver's TE Albert Okwuegbunam. I hoped we were drafting him in 2020. At Missouri he had 98 catches with 23 of them TDs. He is 6'5 260 lbs. and ran 4.49 at the combine. Due to non existent good QB play, he has not done much in Denver and he has been mentioned in trade rumors for 2 years. And he only makes $900,000 and has 1 year left on contract. He has to be one of the faster TEs in the league. That would open up $7 million we could spend on some of the safeties or d-line FAs that he mentioned in the podcast. Its an option to talk about and would help us at TE for sure.

Outside of getting some cheap players back for trading Rodgers to the Jets like Jeremy Ruckert-TE and Denzel Mims-WR I don't see any scenario where we can add players at position of need.

Someone in a post suggested trading Kenny Clark which I never considered possible. So in my mocks I drafted Mazi Smith and Keanu Benton to replace Clark. I know Green Bay just extended Clark and I don't understand how the money works in the contracts. Is it even possible and would it be worthwhile or does he still cost too much down the road in dead money. Like Amos still being owed $8 million even though he won't be on the team. It sure seems we are handcuffed and can't sign anyone. I too was against resigning Rodgers last year when we had the golden chance to move on and get stronger, quicker, with the players and picks. A bad contract that affects so many things, players, and all future business decisions.

How cheap would Marvin Harrison or Julio Jones be to sign? If we are looking for an experienced WR to mentor our young studs would either of them be worth signing @ minimum. Its not like they would play a ton of snaps anyway. Do they still have enough left in the tank to help us? I don't know their injury histories but they would have to be better than Sammy Watkins. Corey Davis doesn't seem like a viable option.

So I took 30 min out of my day to listen to suggestions of bringing in Joe Flacco and Cameron Brate, what a waste. How about Irv Smith Jr at Te, a young better receiving option than Brate. Matt Ryan is versed in the offense unlike Flacco or Rudolph and can actually still play a little in a pinch. I get the packers can’t spent a lot of $ at that position but to really dismiss as an option without knowing the cost is ridiculous. Any is just suggesting camp bodies, we need a whole podcast for that?

This is pretty funny. Maybe the major Packers websites read our posts after all and then write their articles using our ideas. I just got home after being away for 9 hours and started checking Acme, Packers Wire, Lombardi, and Cheesehead hoping that since I was away from cell service that maybe we had completed the Rodgers trade. Oh well maybe tomm. Dairyland Express was the last one I looked at and I laughed at two front pages articles. The first one was there are 3 bargain WR left that we can afford. I guess they will play for $99.95, the old Earl Sheib car painting ad. Anyway one of the 3 was Marvin Harrison who just happens to be the cheap WR I suggested 9 hours ago. Maybe they are running out of original ideas. It can't be because I am intelligent.

The other article thinks it is really important that Green Bay trades back to gain more picks so we can fill more holes that we have plenty of. I am a firm believer that unless you have a Super Bowl capable roster already, trade back for more swings of the bat. Its not rocket science and I state it in every post I make and a bunch of you other guys think the same way. Someone always wants to trade back up and part with valuable picks in the 2nd,3rd, and 4th rounds when there is so much CHEAPER, still great talent available. In his scenario he suggested a trade back with Seattle from 15 to 20 and we get at least a 3rd rounder back. I would ask for another late pick because the team trading up really wants a certain player and will pay up. An extra 7th here would let us draft kicker Moody from Michigan or the TE from Clemson OR ? Filling a hole for kicker and his kickoffs are in the endzone. Mason has been a great kicker but the leg is weaker.

I would even consider trading back a 2nd time in this trade scenario, for more picks. We can still get a top 4 TE between picks 28 and 45. Some team is going to trade up in the 1st to pick Hendon Hooker-QB Tennessee. He will be the next QB after the 4 big guys are gone. The same could happen with Bijan Robinson. Someone has fallen in love with him and will give up 2 or 3 picks to get him.

After missing out on trading Rodgers for the Golden Bonanza of picks and players last year, this is our chance to score big and start the rebuild since we are finally moving on from the Diva. Our biggest needs are TE and Safety. We don't need to waste # 15 on those, its not a good value, but what about if we were picking Washington, Kinkaid, Mayer or Battle, Johnson, or Branch @ 33 with 5 or 6 more picks in the first three rounds. Reload/rebuild is in full swing then. Maybe more if the Rodgers deal gets done. 2nd round picks are lower salaries than 1st round picks and we don't have much money as everyone knows by now. You can pay three 2nd round picks less than what you will pay someone picked @ #15 and they will start too.

Maybe someone from the Green Bay FO will read some of our posts and realize they aren't the only ones that have ideas. Like asking for Ruckert and Mims in the Rodgers trade. 2 more holes filled.
Thats a different article.
