OK, Kyle and AndyM you got the easy gig, being the first ones to talk about the Thursday night game.

But, as people like to point out, it's what you DO with the opportunity that counts, and I really did enjoy your takes on the game, while not having seen it myself yet (I followed it by just listening in on the comments here and on 'Football's Future', from 2-4am, in England).

As long as you call it as (almost) neutral observers, without playing favourites too much (or the reverse), you'll both get my vote.

Definitely a hot take here on Gilbert. Gilbert is no starter at this point. Matthews and Perry are very good players. I can't believe how Packer nation is treating them. Sure, they have some injury issues, but as players on the field, they are very, very good. Perry was 8th in sacks in 2016 even with his injuries.

I agree with the guest from the other day that expectations for Gilbert should be tempered, but he is showing growth. Last year, he just had an outside move. This year, he has combined an inside move with an outside move. So he is better than last year and growing.

" Perry was 8th in sacks in 2016 even with his injuries."

Just about everyone knows I'm not a Perry fan since him being drafted and I will admit that he makes a play now and then. But this sack total stuff has got to stop as it being a major factor for defense of his over all contributions. Look at when his sacks are compiled and one would see nearly all on in garbage time in a loss or win but hardly ever as a game changing play. There are sacks and then " There are SACKs...Perry's are never in the... ' There are SACKs.'

Just about everone knows I'm a fan of Perry's talent on the field. So let me do my job here real quick.

Other teams in the NFL have defenses that play during "Garbage time".
Still, despite injury, etc, only 7 players had more sacks than Perry in 2016, and he was 15th among OLBs (out of 64 starting oLBS) last season.

Also, for what it's worth, Perry completely changes how teams try to run against the Packers as well.

He's a very good OLB. He has a staying healthy problem. That is all.
