Some ambitious person will take the job. It's inevitable.

But based on the top of this organization's track record on staffing special teams, why would anyone want to?

I sure hope the commitment to special teams has finally changed, but history says otherwise. Please prove my fears wrong.

Well GB looks like they are finally fed up with Special Teams costing them games every year. Getting rid of a poor coach should have happened years ago. A pro football teams' main goal should be to strengthen weakness every year to try to achieve the ultimate goal, winning a Super Bowl. We have tried sometimes to improve weaker position groups through Free Agency & the Draft. But better players are only a part of improving.

Having good coaches who won't accept poor play and can motivate players is really important. GB has ignored this team weakness for too long. On top of poor coaching, and firing Bisaccia was warranted after the 2024 season, we wouldn't have a Nate Hobbs contract problem now if Bisaccia was gone last year. Hobbs says he turned down more money to come to GB because of his relationship with Bisaccia. It's like a bad parting gift in the toilet.

Good news: We have a great punter, so no action needed there. The kicker was not a strength last year, but he was the year before, so we almost have to keep him and he does have a new contract.

We badly need a KR who is a weapon that will make good decisions but will give our offense a lift with better field position. Since we are low on draft capitol, drafting Kayden Wetgen-Iowa, the best KR in college is a non-starter. A better move would be sign a cheap FA KR for the same money, Andy has suggested Skyy Moore and he fits the criteria. And gives a bonus in having great hands as a WR. This is an easy big upgrade.

Yes, we missed FGs last year and it cost us games, but our kickoff & punt coverage teams are a weak spot that should be addressed. The same with our kick return teams, it does no good to have a better returner if we get a block in the back penalty every time. These 2 units could improve by having a special teams "Demon" that continually makes positive plays that change momentum. The Super Bowl teams had them and it showed by allowing no game changing plays. The reason I wanted Isaiah Simmons the last 2 years was he has such talent and I thought GB could unlock it. Simmons has never been on a really good team but has flashed at times. But one thing he consistently brought was great special teams play. He didn't show enough @ LB and we cut him. It would have been worth a vet minimum contract to have a ST "Demon', and his positional versatility.

Hire the top assistant STs coach from the team with the best STs last year. That coach should have the right mindset and skills to fix STs once & for all.

I just read where GB is thinking about promoting Bisaccia's assistant STs coach. They can't be serious. Reward someone that was teaching the bad ST play? There are probably 5 top assistant STs coaches that would be better than our guy, he should be shown the door too.

I would go get a guy from high school that has good fundamentals on coaching and special teams.

A guy that treats them like they’re in high school. Shut up and listen to me type of guy

And a guy that’s says Run it again
