Packers Appear Poised to Unveil New Alternate Jersey

Connecting the dots, it looks as if the Packers will reveal a new uniform next season.

Details have yet to be revealed, but thanks to some sleuthing by Paul Lukas of Uni-Watch.com, the Green Bay Packers look to unveil an alternate third uniform for the 2015 season.

By way of the 2015 Nike/NFL youth catalog, the Packers are one of four teams with alternate jerseys yet to be revealed.

The timing would appear to be appropriate, coming off a game against the Philadelphia Eagles in which the Packers didn't publicize they would be wearing their 1920s era Amce Packing Company throwback uniforms until the week of the game.

That marked a shift from previous seasons when the wearing of the recent throwback uniforms was known well ahead of time. The Packers appear ready to move onto a new marketing initiative, which—of course—means a new revenue stream from sales of a new-look uniform.

What's perhaps interesting is that an alternate jersey doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a throwback to another era. It could be a new color scheme.

The highlighter yellow uniforms worn by the Seattle Seahawks in recent seasons would be an exteme example, although it doesn't seem likely that a tradition-rich team like the Packers would take a similar approach.

Whatever the Packers decide to do, there are no shortage of fan suggestions:

Like the one Evan mentioned. Mukti stripe and old logo are perfect.
