Packers Calendar: Clay Matthews' Game Day Prognostication

The Packers linebacker's practice status will be released on the injury report on Friday.

Even though the Green Bay Packers don't hold a full-scale practice on Friday—they do hold a walk-through—they will still release an injury report, including game-day prognostications.

A trio of linebackers—Clay Matthews (groin), Nick Perry (wrist) and Brad Jones (quadriceps)—have been limited practice participants all week, so it will be worth noting whether they can improve to "full" on Friday.

On top of that, the game-day status projections will be released, meaning they'll be listed as either out, doubtful, questionable or probable, which could give a better indication of whether or not they'll play.

Matthews may have said "I'll be out there" to ESPN.com and other outlets on Thursday, but until he's actually suited up and playing, there are a population that will still be skeptical.

As late as Wednesday this week, Matthews was observed as limping in the locker room by reporter Ryan Wood of the Green Bay Press-Gazette.

Head coach Mike McCarthy will hold a press conference with reporters starting at 11:30 a.m. CT, to be streamed live on Packers.com.

Earlier in the day, McCarthy will have an exclusive interview with 101.1 FM WIXX in Green Bay, which airs at 7:50 a.m. CT and will be streamed live on WIXX.com.

Right here at Cheesehead TV, Jason Hirschhorn of AcmePackingCompany.com will be our guest on Railbird Central, helping to preview the game against the Chicago Bears. He'll join us live at 8:30 a.m. CT with the show podcasted later in the morning.
