The NFL Owners Meeting got underway on Sunday and continues Monday with the expected announcement of compensatory draft picks, according to Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com.

Compensatory draft picks are awarded for the net loss of unrestricted free agents the previous season, and the Packers are likely to receive at least two due to the departartures of wide receiver James Jones to the Oakland Radiers and center Evan Dietrich-Smith to the Tampa Bay Buccanners.

The Packers signed two notable free agents last season between Julius Peppers and Letroy Guion, but because each of them were released by their previous clubs, they do not count in the draft pick formula.

It's expected the losses of Jones and Dietrich-Smith will result in the addition of a pair of sixth round picks, according to OvertheCap.com.

Packers fans can also cross their fingers for one additional seventh round selection from the loss of offensive lineman Marshall Newhouse, who signed with the Cincinnati Bengals. OvertheCap.com projects the Packers to receive one of the final compensatory selections, but it's quite possible Newhouse didn't meet the cutoff point of the NFL's formula for handing out picks, which they don't make public.

There will also be discussion of possible rule changes at the NFL owners meetings, taking place in Arizona on Monday.

Meanwhile, back in Wisconsin, Packers linebacker Sam Barrington will make an appearance in the community Monday evening when he attends the Sister Bay Lions Club Youth Night, per the team's official website.

Barrington will be at the Sister Bay Bowl in Sister Bay, Wis. at 6:30 p.m. CT.
