Packers Question of the Day: Favorite Favre Moment

From his miracle touchdown to Greg Jennings on the first play of overtime against the Broncos in 2007 to his rainbow of a throw across the field to Sterling Sharpe to beat the Lions in 1994. Brett Favre's career has been filled with moments that just make you stare in awe, throw/punch the nearest object or just thank your lucky stars that this man played in Green Bay for 16 seasons.

What was your favorite Favre moment?

November 21, 2010. Aaron Rodgers slaughtered the Favre led Vikings in Minnesota 31-3. Threw four TDs and had 301 yards passing. Favre: 17-38, 0 TDS and a pick.

Favre/Sterger and the 'lil Lorenzo' picture.

More seriously, the clearest memory I have is in the Superbowl, when a Pats player led with the crown of his helmet, coming from low down, up under Brett's helmet grille to try and uppercut Brett on the chin. Brett leaned right back at the last moment, avoiding a vicious and intentional attempt to knock him out of the game.

Favre throwing 5 TDs against the Bears on an ankle that 99.9% of people would not be able to walk on never mind play NFL football. He gave us everything he had every time he stepped on the field, injured or not. Thanks, Since '61

My favorite game as well. Favorite play, was that crazy shovel pass for a TD when he miraculously escaped a sure sack. Forget the game tho. He gave his all, it's true but the NFC title game against the Giants was the exception to the rule. IMO.

For me there is 1A and 1B for my favorite moments of Favre.

First was the Superbowl. Running across the field was amazing.
Second was the game after his dad died. He was on fire in that game.

In December of 1994 in the last game played in Milwaukee Favre dives into the end zone to give Milwaukee fans something to remember:http://archive.jsonline.com/images.ashx?file=favredive-file.jpg&resize=

That was the one I was going to mention. That, and the pass to Kitrick Taylor in September of 92. I remember both like they happened yesterday.

I have 2 memorable moments:
i was the oakland game as previously mentioned after his Dad passed.

The other was the vindication game when he through the interception in the NFC Championship while playing for the Vikings to lose the game for them.....

Funny, I was going to mention that INT against the Saints too. After years of watching him throw INTs in the playoffs, it was awesome to see his revenge fueled year go down the tubes with an INT due to a poor mental decision.

In no particular order:

- The run into the end zone against Atlanta in Milwaukee.
- A pick 6 in two consecutive games on screen plays.
- "Rocket balls" as Holmgren called them.
- The bomb to Sharpe in Detroit. His first pass to himself.
- The pass to beat Bengals in his first game with pack.
- The bomb in Denver in OT on monday night football?

The top one is probably the pass to Andre Rison in the superbowl, then there is the one to Freeman in the superbowl.

1999.....4th down at the 23yrd line with the clock running down Favre zings a laser tracer to Carey Bradford up the seam to beat the Vikings with 12 seconds left on the clock!

The entire drive was great. See below. Comeback drive begins at 3:04.. Man,I hate the Vikes!

With all the great Favre moments, perhaps the most memorable for me was the Halloween Monsoon Monday night game in Chicago in the ugly throwbacks and 40 mph wind with heavy rain. I remember the long rambling TD run...

Never forget that game. Favre running down the right sidelines with a convoy in front of him for a scrambling TD. Hammered the Bears.
Poetic justice for all the beat-downs in the 90's.

While I want to say the pick vs the Saints, I gotta go with the OT bomb to Jennings. I was upperdeck at Mile High, and from there could see the whole play unfold- Jennings streaking, ball dropping... Unreal. Had to be cool while leaving so I didn't rub their noses in it.

It was kinda like watching Michael Jordan play. You just knew that at some point in the game, he was going to do something that made your jaw drop.

Unfortunately, it wasn't always something good...

But I've gotta say, that first game against the Bungles. IIRC, he had something like 3 picks and 4 fumbles in that game, then after the TD he forgot that he was the holder for the XP.

I also enjoyed his downfield blocking, and when some defensive lineman cleaned his clock he'd jump up and pat the guy on the helmet, "good hit, buddy".

I remember one play against the Lions where he was running down field blocking for Dorsey Levens and taking out a DB or LB with an actual block.

I saw several of those plays over the years. Each time, I remember thinking, or saying, this is a football player whose position is QB, not a QB trying to play football.

For me, it had to be the Oakland game on Monday. After that game I started thinking about my father and it brought tears to my eyes.
On a side note, although it didn't involve Favre. I also remember the game Aaron Rodgers came in for mop up duty or Favre had his bell rung, forget which it was. It was one of Aaron's first snaps as a pro and he broke his ankle. I remember thinking, and this is going to be Favre's replacement, boy are we screwed.

Everybody has a right to their own opinion but IMO Favre was mostly responsible for the Packers turnaround in the 90's. He never won anything for Minnesota so no harm no foul. Thompson couldn't have handled that situation any worse, especially when he offered him $25 million NOT TO PLAY.

The Packers were right to move on, it was time! But after the his season with the Jets who really thought he wasn't coming back and playing for Minnesota. I'd have wanted to to the exact same thing.

Ted Thompson was the reason Favre went to Minnesota, Thompson and Thompson alone. Personally I don't understand all the ill feelings towards the man people have still. At the moment sure. But not now, not after what he did for GB

Definitely the interception he threw in the Viking-Saints game. Living here among the Minny fans wearing their purple No. 4 jerseys with big smirks on their faces all season long I told them that at some point he would do a bone-headed play that would tear out their hearts. After that play, voila, no more No. 4 jerseys.

The last pass Brett Favre ever threw in a playoff game -- an interception to Tracy Porter to cost the Vikings a chance at their first Super Bowl trip since 1977. I loved that he was able to destroy their hopes and dreams of a chance of finally getting a Lombardi trophy.
