They're primarily zone, but run many plays with power concepts.

I think I'd like to see some 2 tight end sets with Rich Rod and Cook. Not only does it allow you to execute power run plays, it puts enormous pressure on the middle of the field which in turn leaves Nelson on the perimeter with less focus.

West Coast Offense would be pretty cool. Get some high percentage passing, hitting deep with pump fakes when CBs come up to cover the slants.

I bet even Janis could figure out how to run a slant.

Help protect that D with some ball control offense.

Remember how good Edgar Bennet and Dorsey Levens looked in those screen plays, draws and traps? I bet Lacy would look even better.

Jared Cook and Ty Montgomery are the sort of flex-tools to make the Packers offense both very interesting and very difficult to defend.

Suppose GB's skill players on the field are Nelson, Cobb, RR, Cook and Montgomery. As a defense, if you play dime personnel, watch the Packers switch to Ace (12) formation and run the ball via 2TE sets with Montgomery as a halfback. Most CBs contending with TEs (even those that block as "well" as RR and Cook) will be at a disadvantage. OTOH, play nickel and watch AR motion Ty out of the backfield to match up on a LB in empty set.

Montgomery on backfield screens would also be fun to watch. I know he's listed as a receiver, but he's got the build and talent to operate as a gadget-guy in the backfield even more than Cobb does.

Honestly, I don't know that the Packers need to get "cute" with their offense this year. If they can have even a mild level of injury luck, there are so many skill position players with move-the-ball skills the offense should be nightmarish even without lots of creativity. If key players go down again, crossers and stack sets would be nice, but those don't seem to be things McCarthy likes.

The flea flicker and get the running backs involved in the screen play more.

The Packers need to get better on 3rd downs, 4th and short yardage and goal line offense. Maybe now that they have Cook they can utilize play action and/or rollouts to hit Cook or R.Rodgers in a 2 TE set, whichever one of them gets open. They also need to diversify their formations in those short yardage situations. Last season they looked very predictable when they lined up for short yardage and goal line. Also, maybe Crockett can emerge as a 3rd down threat for either quick hitters and/or quick passes out of the backfield. I would expect that he can get to the LOS faster than Lacy and pickup some first downs. Either way we need more speed and diverse plays in our short yardage offense. Thanks, Since '61

A jet sweep series with a single RB and Cobb and Montgomery in double slots could take advantage of their respective talents. Run it from shotgun with the motion in front of the QB like some spread teams in college do. This would compliment a lot of what they already do from this set.

Assuming the O Line gets and stays healthy, a short yardage package with Tretter and Spriggs as double TE's. If the defense sells out they're athletic enough to throw the ball to.

I would like to see more slants. And I would also like to see some end arounds and why don't we have plays for Cobb to throw the ball being that he played QB some?

1. I'd like to see the Cobra formation not only used as booster when the Offense is in a funk

2. I'm not a fan of bunch formations, but if the lack of separation continue to show then I'm all for it.

3. 5-Wide (of course we'd have to be healthy)

4. I'd like to see more PA with Rodgers under the Center. I understand Shotgun has its advantages (Pass Pro and QB vision), but PA should be more effective when the QB is under Center (especially with a RB like Lacy, who's more threatening with a head of steam then "just getting getting started").

5.Players that are getting meaningful snaps that may be limited in some part(s) of their game should have tailored plays. We've seen it with Cobb and Montgomery (Cobra/Bunch/). How about we help out Adams/Janis?

Would like to see some type of power running game that the Pack could use in the 4th qtr when they have the lead. A 3 TE line-up (maybe use Tretter as the 3rd TE) that pounds the ball, but could float Rodgers and Cook to the flat for an easy completion.

I liked 11's fluid movement in the family night scrimmage, but he looks like he needs 10-15 pounds and strength to beat the jam he's sure to see. If he can't get off the LOS he won't be able to flash that speed. It's a stretch to suggest he's going to be the number 3 this year, even with the way 17 can't seem to catch a cold on a consistent basis.

I would like to see a Rb catch the ball down the field. Dorsey Levens was so important to the west coast offense. Who do we have that can do that? STILL To Slow at RB!

Cobb held for PAT's and FG's in college and should do the same now. That would open up several trick play options - just more ways to score and gets the punter off the field as the holder.

The other option they should throw in is for the two middle linebackers to sometimes line up over the center on passing downs to blitz - fake blitz and freeze the interior pass blockers from helping block our outside rushers

If Adams is slow, then including him in rub routes and bunch formations should help. Janis, Montgomery and Adams in a bunch could be interesting with Jordy on his own on the opposite side (plenty of size/strength there).

If Davis makes the 53, then a bunch of Janis/Davis/Adams (again with Jordy on the other side) would force the opposition to respect deep speed, which gives Adams a chance to succeed underneath. It would be nice to see Montgomery and Adams running a criss-cross rub (though they will get called on it, if too blatent).

I'd also like to see how Ripkowski is with the dumpoff pass, especially right after they have burned a defense deep.

I want to see more two back, power I or offset I packages. Too many of our runs are single back sets out of the gun. I believe our short yardage struggles are a culmination of a lack of reps with live bullets firing on the other end. Our redzone offense has been an eyesore consitently as well, especially as we get inside the 10 yard line. They need to emply personnel packaging commensurate with their position on the field and exercise more creativity and less predictability in short yardage/short field situations.

Occasionally No-Huddle with Cobb and Montgomery being moved between backfield, slot, and Y
Red zone: more 4 Wideouts
