Packers send update to season ticket holders on 2020 season

Seating will be extremely limited and face coverings will be required, if fans are allowed to attend games at all.

With only a few weeks until players are supposed to report for training camp, the Packers have begun the process of informing season ticket holders what to expect if the NFL allows fans to attend games this fall amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.

#Packers update season ticket holders on preparations for the 2020 season.  https://t.co/rJliqt5x86

From the team:

At this time, the team is preparing to have fans in attendance with new policies and safety measures to allow for appropriate social distancing, which will require the stadium's seating capacity to be significantly reduced. Face coverings also will be required, and other necessary precautions will be in place. As a result, the special experience to which fans are accustomed at Lambeau Field will look and feel very different.

Because of the reduced capacity should fans be able to attend games, the organization cannot guarantee that ticket holders in the general bowl and club seats will be able to reserve tickets. Due to the reduced capacity, the team is also eliminating the Green and Gold package designations, as well as suspending the Brown County Ticket Drawing program, for this season. Brown County residents who paid for tickets through the program this year will be automatically refunded. Suite holders will receive specific information separately relating to their suite.

While preparations continue and the full plan has not yet been finalized, the letter asked season ticket holders to begin considering their options for this season. In the near future, season ticket holders will be asked to complete a questionnaire asking if they want to "opt in" to be included in the process for a chance to reserve tickets this year. Those that opt in will be asked additional questions and given further instructions; this opportunity is exclusive to season ticket holders at this time.

We are really riding a lot on some of these businesses being open already. Two weeks after the 4th of July we should have another decent benchmark about how this covid tracks. Till then I want to start perfecting panoramic photos of people eating hot dogs, and brats! We still need to have goals people.

As a lifelong Packers fan that's been Green package ticket holder since 2005-ish with those same tickets being in my family since before I was born, it sort of pains me that I'm likely going to go with the opt out and just roll the money over to next year. It's not that I don't want to go to any games this season, I just don't want to have to worry about the hassle of not knowing how many games I'm even eligible to go to, how the refund or rollover process works for the rest of my normal tickets that I'm not getting, and where are my seats are going to be because I doubt they're going to be in my normal spot.

You make some excellent points. I have two Green Package tickets which are on/about lined up with the 46 and 47 yard line which of course have been in our family since Lambeau opened. I too would not relish receiving tickets in the corner of the bowl in early December and that's it for the season. I'm stuck in California, so there is a lot of planning involved in attending a game. At present, I only make it back for three or fewer games per year.

However, I do believe that a clarification in the near future by the Packers organization will alleviate much of the anxiety felt by many/most of the current season ticket holders. At that point, we will be able to make a more informed decision regarding the opt in/out notice.

I’m not watching games if there is a season I will watch the re plays maybe and I’m not getting the Sunday ticket either , the NFL is playing the black national anthem before games and allowing BLM patches on their jerseys, this is too political now , count me out.

I read your statement and wanted to verify it before commenting. It appears to be a fact and I find it disgusting and yet another example of the NFL knuckling under. I fly from California to Wisconsin to attend Packers games at significant expense to be entertained and I do not find kneeling down during our National Anthem by anyone fortunate enough to be wearing the Green and Gold uniform of the Green Bay Packers entertaining.

If BLM actually cared about Black lives (they don't), they'd be in cities like Chicago on the front lines. Trying to keep Blacks from taking the lives of other Blacks. Maybe keep them from taking the lives of 3 yr. old and 13 year old African Americans. One in a car seat and the other watching TV in her living room. There was talk of maybe having the names of Black people killed by police, put on their jerseys. THAT'LL BE IT FOR ME!!! How about the names of people, many who were black, that lost their small businesses due to the mindless looting and burning by the BLM folks. Or maybe the names of those beaten or killed at the hands of the BLM crusaders when they were expressing their "rage" over the treatment of Black people.

BLM is founded in Communism, you can verify that as well. It's all out there. My concerns are around the amount of stupidity it takes to even consider backing a communist movement within the United States. If the Black Community doesn't like a Constitutional Free America, they'll lose their minds under real communism! There would be masses of dead protesters and huge volumes more under "reeducation" in what are effectively prisoner of war camps. That's not going to be any Picnic. All Americans need to realize what this really is, if not mostly the Black Community. BLM is Communism with a happy face moniker attached to it. There aren't going to be any happy faces behind a communist movement in the United States of America. Just saying.. Go research it.

If I can opt out and get a full credit towards 2021, I'm all over that.. Simplifies a lot for my family. I bet ticket prices for 2021 will skyrocket.
