Packers Sign DL Treyvon Hester

Fourth-year DL added to roster

The Green Bay Packers have signed DL Treyvon Hester.

The fourth-year DL out of Toledo was drafted in the 7th round by the Oakland Raiders and has since played for the Philadephia Eagles, and the Washington Redskins.

He has played in 41 career games and has logged 40 total tackles, 4 TFL, 2 sacks, and one FR and FF each. He is also the one who tipped Cody Parkey's infamous FG known as the 'Double Doink' that sent the Eagles to the NFC Championship Game.

I have been perplexed by the amount of inaction regarding the defensive line.

Yeah, I was really hoping more drafting of DL and ILB than getting more WR's.

Don’t know anything about him but we sure need some good run stuffers. Whether he is that, I can’t say. My concern is that this will be his fourth team in a short period of time. That is troubling.

Just watched a video on YouTube from 2018 season. Eagle guys Mike Quick and Ike Reese did a film breakdown of Trayvon Hester. They seemed to like his run stopping ability and thought he had some value creating pressure. Looks to me at 6 feet 2 that he is a little undersized with good effort. Worth a watch. Certainly not a huge move but maybe he earns some time and pushes some others.

I really don’t think they are worried about you being in awe. What does it hurt?

The only thing I can think of is that he appears to be an upgrade to Montravius Adams

Awesome - a guy who is a DL - also an elite punt and kick returner! Way to go Gutie!

Oh for goodness’ sake. In Gute's last presser he laid out the teams vision going forward. There have been no surprises coming out of 1265. Not even the drafting of Love, as Gute has very clear that drafting or picking up a cornerstone QB is priority number 1 for this organization. Of course signing DL was high on the teams todo, as Pettine made clear in his preseason presser how thin they were up front. Classic Packer GM move, wait for the cuts, scan the lists and sign for value.

My guess is that Gute is going to pickup a better DT sooner or later. He will be an experienced free agent pickup at an affordable, fair price. He HAS to shore up the run defense with someone better or suffer some more painful losses.

Finally we have found an elite WR to help Aaron Rodgers guide the Pack to the Super Bowl this season! Oh, wait....

In case anyone forgot, Raheem Mostert & the Niners ran right thru our pathetic DLine for almost 300 yards.
We need DTs like Howard Green, Ryan Pickett & Gilbert Brown.
The Cowgirls added Gerald McCoy and Dontari Poe. This is our version.
