Don't think they have the money to do what the Bucs did. The 2021defense is most likely going to have to roll with the players they have. They should have three supplemental draft picks. It'll be interesting to see what they do with them. That's likely to be the only source of acquisition this year.

When will the league copy something that the Packers do?

The Packers will COPY the Bucs by investing in Inside Linebackers, trading draft picks for players (Gronk & JPP), adding talented players with checkered pasts (Suh & Antonio Brown) and going ALL IN to win now rather than always keeping 1 eye on being competitive in the future (2020 1st and 4th round picks spent on Jordan Love) only when the entire front office has been cleansed of anything remotely related to the Ted Thompson era.

That includes Gutey, Russ Ball, and Mark Murphy.

Until then, expect more of the same.

Riding Aaron Rodgers to domination of the pathetic NFC North and playoff defeats short of the Super Bowl.

We do what we do and will not change our ways to copy the Bucs.

I'm happy you brought up a question that people should be asking: Why does another white retread with a track record of failure, get a third opportunity in one of the relatively few NFL leadership positions?
I support Goodell’s and the NFLPA’s goal of rewarding minority coaches for developing players and contributing to their teams’ successes. I’m also an old white guy who worked almost forty years for a major corporation and saw how organizations benefit when leaders understand and reflect the employees they lead.
Why does Joe Barry earn the chance to handle responsibilities after failing on two previous occasions? Yes. he is more experienced than other candidates but is the number of years coaching NFL football really important when the Packer’s first choice, Jim Leonhard, spent no time in that role? More importantly, years of experience should mean little if a person has produced more failure than success.
No one on CHTV can answer these questions or know why a successful minority position coach, like Ejro Evero, was by-passed; however, I believe the NFL and media must ask the Packers to provide information on how their selection process was implemented in the spirit of the league’s desire to provide head coaching and coordinator opportunities for successful minority candidates.

What amazes me is how the argument is always about the non-hiring of a minority, and how the failures of the many minority hires is always ignored.

I know, I know, I'm a racist will be the tone in replies, but I care not about making quotas but making successes. The problem IMHO, is that many believe because the league is now 75% or more black players, coaching at every level should co-inside with that just because. Is it a culture change where it's the Black NFL or is it about ability. Are whites ultimately to be banned from football sooner than later in the NFL, to satisfy an inequality in sports that isn't there.

When a team is up for sale, and if a black person attempts to purchase it and is denied though qualified, then you can scream inequality, but as of now, the quota system or mandate has been filled, and ability needs to be adhered to.

Byron Leftwich isn't ready for a HC job as Brady has made him look better than Winston, and most would acknowledge this as true, but won't, because he's just another arrow in the quiver of the inequality rants, and they're afraid to be called racist.

Heck, why don't they demand Michael Vick be interviewed or given a coaching job, regardless of the fact upon his own admittance, he never studied defenses tape, but he's a black man, so he deserves it.

It's a tough world and nepotism plays a huge role, but if anybody believes that a black dominant league at every level will not birth its own nepotism, you're are in the running for the most ignorant award, because the lower will always resemble those who they ousted from the top. It's human nature. It's called power.

I'm not afraid and couldn't care less what you think of me, I know who and what I am.

I, too, am mystified about the DC hiring. OF course, I'm biased, because I was stunned that we released Pettine in the first place.

But I'm an old guy, and one thing that hasn't changed in 50 years is that WHO you know is more important than WHAT you know. Obviously, the Packer brass.....LaFleur, Gutekunst, Murphy......knew this guy enough that there was a comfort level with hiring him. Go ahead and call it a "good old boys" network, but a lot of the world works that way. I'm not saying it's right and I'm not saying it's fair, but it is what it is........

If the defense takes a step back, when we're so close to the Super Bowl, the knives are going to be out. This is a big gamble, IMO. Gutekunst has two years left on his deal.

Overall Tampa Bay was the best team last night. The officials made some horrible calls against the Chiefs but that isn't the reason why the Chiefs lost. TB was much better in the trenches.. They pushed the Chiefs O+D lines around all night. And Brady IMO was not the MVP.. TB defense should get the honors they were very physical and strong. The Chiefs like the Packers do not match up well against them. TB was the best team last night Congrats to them. Defense wins Super Bowls... The Officials were the only blemish in the game. GO PACK GO...!!!!!
