Wednesday is July 15th, the last day for teams to sign franchised players to long term deals. If they are not inked, even with a trade the players is just a one-year rental at the franchise tag price.

Some players out there on the tag are Dak Prescot, Chris Jones (hasn't signed his tag), Shaquil Barrett, Bud Dupree, AJ Green (hasn't signed his tag), Anthony Harris (MN), Derrick Henry, Hunter Henry, Matt Judon, Yannick Ngakoue (hasn't signed his tag), Justin Simmons, Brandon Scherff, Joe Thuney (NE), and Leonard Williams.

Not signing the tag just means the player can't be fined for not showing up at TC.

Chris Jones signed for 4 years and $80M with $5M available in incentives for sacks. He got no signing bonus but did well on the guarantee with something like $57M guaranteed over the first three years but the cash flow is good for KC.

He is easy to trade since he won't have a lot of dead money through a signing bonus. Future guaranteed money can be traded to the acquiring team.
