#PackersDaily: Packers secondary cooking with gas

Aaron chats with Packers fans worldwide the day after the team made Jaire Alexander the highest paid corner in the league.

Earlier today, I held my Packers chat over on our YouTube channel talking all things Green and Gold.

"Packers secondary cooking with gas"...

NOW, that is a statement I can definitely get BEHIND. 😁

Thanks Nags for sharing your insight, it truly is appreciated. I have listened to your opinions and love the green/gold running through your veins. 👌💪👍

Having a good secondary is a great but the pass rush is still more important. No secondary can cover forever. This signing opens up some money I am hoping they can use to bring in a pass rusher. I think Jadeveon Clowney could make this defense a top 3 unit. He can still rush the passer, 9.5 sacks and 19 hits last year, great against the run and would allow Barry to line up Preston and Walker anywhere along the line. That would give this D a scary front 7 that couuld rotate in lots of players and get pressure with 4 rushers.

I wonder if Douglas plays a little FS this year. He's proven to be more of the ball hawk type and is a good tackler.

I'd still sign King so they could. Before he signs with the Giants.

On a related side note: My favorite UDFA this year is Raleigh Texada (pronounced Tehada).
He had almost the exact same Pro-Day stats as Jaire Alexander (other than a slightly slower (.4) 3-cone) Exact same size, speed, vert, bench, etc. and he has a very similar feisty play style.
It will be interesting to see how he does; if nothing else, he seems like he'd be a good ST gunner.

I wouldn't compare him to Jaire, but in terms of athletic ability or potential he has the 3rd highest (RAS) of all the CB on the team. Nice size, speed and bring a lot of experience covering top notch WR in the Big 12. 4th in Baylor history in most games played. Definitely brings a lot to the table. Should be fun to watch the depth battle behind our top 3 CB.
