Schefter admits Rodgers and his camp not the source of any of the leaks, was not even breaking news but an "accumulation of information" he'd heard over the off-season that he decided to call breaking news on the day of the draft. Hmm. ESPN and football/sports media in general, folks. It's almost like Rodgers would not want a giant dramastorm to happen right as he was going to be out in public with his teammates on day one of the NFL Draft. It's almost like Rodgers says the mainstream media is garbage and he prefers to kill them with indifference by refusing to engage for a reason.

Well it excuses Rodgers from the draft day stink bomb. However it does not excuse Schefter as a muck-racking, low-brow, tawdry sensationalist. And it does not mitigate the acute conflict between Packers and Rodgers. There is still miles to go.

Yeah, not denying that there's tension - there has to be. But there's a HUGE gulf between "RODGERS WILL NOT RETURN TO THE PACKERS", "RODGERS TOLD FREE AGENTS HE WOULDN'T BE ON THE TEAM IN 2021", "RODGERS THINKS HE'S MICHAEL JORDAN", etc., and whatever these guys are talking about behind closed doors. John Kuhn also apparently talked to Rodgers in the past few days and he says it's 75% chance Rodgers will stay. Well, okay then - sounds pretty freaking different from no chance that he returns.

If you believe it. It’s at odds with his prior claims and with what followed from others. Frankly, I see this as more a reflection of the need to walk it back being expressed by his sources when the reaction proved not as expected. Sources are critical to Schefter. He will do what is necessary to retain their trust.

Thanks for the sanity exhibited here, Aaron.

You're right the Packers have immense chess pieces on O. Add Josiah Deguara to that mix too. What a player. I think he will surprise many, as will Amari Rodgers, who I do think will start in the slot Day 1.

On defense, I'm really getting more and more excited about our STs. Great point on playing your best players on STs. Deon Sanders was an ELECTRIC returner during his time in ATL, DAL and SF. We have long suffered from having a true talent void in the PR/KR spots, until now.

I see Uphoff with the potential to be the Day 1 KR, and Amari Rodgers to be the Day 1 PR. I know they are both rookies, but I believe they are better than anyone we currently have on the roster to handle those jobs. Malik Taylor did OK as a KR... but I like the rookies there. We'll see what happens during TC.

Uphoff/Rodgers would be a good infusion of talent on both units. Add in the Shemar Jean-Charles pick, who is insanely intelligent in the game, and has a real love for ST play, along with Isaiah McDuffy, whose selection in R6 screams STs marauder, and I can see ST coach Maurice Drayton will have some improved talents to work with.

Add Eric Stokes as a punt/FG blocker? HELL YEAH!!!!

Aaron, your hat and headset adjustment. You won the day with that one. Thanks for the laughs. Cheers!

Packers are in a shit storm. Their draft was ok, only ok. Their counterparts ll ranked A scores with very good players on both sides the ball who can start now and not a developmental players.
Throw in the Pack new 4 months ago they needed to find a third QB somewhere down the road and failed to do so shows a lack of organization and group think.
Murphy is supposed to be in charge but ferrets out things to Gutt who IMO is a POS when it comes to evaluating talent.
The Packers deserve this and sometimes the fans do to for being on board with this BS.

Please. 28-8 in two seasons and into the NFC championship games and they don't know talent?

Take a look at the All-Pros and Pro Bowlers on both sides of the ball then tell me the Packers don't know talent.

Really? Lets see you post this in a year, as I think 3-5 draft picks will contribute and a couple of starters. Drafts are rated in 2-3 years, not the week after the draft before any games have been played. Fans would have lost it had Green Bay drafted a 3rd string QB. They will pick up one or two before training camp and it will only be for the summer. Gute is a POS on talent? How do you explain: Dillon, Keke, Savage, Alexander, Jenkins, Runyan, Martin, Gary, MVS, Z Smith, Amos. C,mon Man!

Is Randall Cobb coming out with such strong praise for Amari Rodgers laying a smoke screen for Aaron Rodgers to back down and say, "Oh, I love what the Packers did with the draft this year."

All I see regularly from many fans is fear of the unknown. I’m 100% confident this year’s 2021 team is going to rock, and will surprise many.

Embrace adversity, always. It is an opportunity for growth.

Agree - this year's team will "rock" - with or without Rodgers

Dickey was going to take out a full page ad decrying the Rich Campbell pick. Then he went to mini camp and saw him throw.
