Never seen anything like it. At a minimum there were 7 FIGHTS that broke out separately that looked no differently than Elgton last week vs. CIN.
All 7 fights were well within the first 40 minutes of practice, TOPS!!! 2 of them in PUNT TEAMS!!! Insanity.
Each and every one. Wow!!! Brawls. The Patriots started most, if not all of them, acting like a bunch of freaking beotches.
Stunned that the Patriots could call that BS a “practice.” Just got home. Really hoping no Packers players were hurt. Belichick can go fuck himself. His stink is all over this.
Kraft took one hell of a cheap shot (it happened right in front of me at the 30 yd line, 2nd row. ) after a reception on the near sideline - and it reminded me immediately of Sapp’s hit on Clifton - by some little douchebottle wearing #2. We saw THREE that were way worse. All by Patriots players. Belichick had all their names off their jerseys.
LIGHT THOSE punk MFs UP, Saturday, Packers.
LIGHT. THEM. UP.

I'm still wondering how these joint practices are not really stupid as far as being dangerous to players.
Furthermore, to have joint practices with a team we're playing in a preseason game a day or two afterward seems idiotic.
***
The preseason games don't count, but they're games.
It's all set up like a game, and it has the feel and excitement of a game, and there are the literal and figurative boundaries of a game.
It's familiar to the players. The players know how to act in games, plus there's a plenitude of fans watching, in the stadium and on television, to keep them honest.
On the other hand, how does a player deal with a joint practice? Play hard, but not too hard? Don't offend anyone? Take any dirty tricks with gentle good humor?
I don't get it.
As much as I bring this up, I don't remember ever getting a satisfactory answer.
***
Now, I'm getting pissed off!
I'm hoping to see LaFleur show some real anger at any injustices done to his players today.
I'm hoping to see him man up!

The only proper response is to beat the living piss out of them on Saturday.

That's where LaFleur has to step up in rallying the troops in a passionate way that is still under control.
He has to call out the wrongs of the other team today, and call on his players to kick ass on Saturday. (Maybe the game gets moved to being televised on the NFL Channel, as a result.)
Also, he has to say, as far as joint practices, never again!
LaFleur has to say he has learned never to put his players in this unfairly restrained and vulnerable position ever again with another team.
He has to set a tone for the Packers, not of bullying, but of intelligent ferocity.

P.S. Thanks, greengold, for your great service of truly reporting another act of unsportsmanship by the Patriots, which seems to tarnish their entire legacy as supposed champions, and to deflate many, if not all, of their accomplishments.
As far as I can tell, Belichick and Brady don't come close in stature to Lombardi and Starr.

They’ll never come close, because they lack character. Lombardi & Starr exuded character.

Properly.
And soundly.
This will be a test for all our guys, but especially #7.

Switch, I have no answers for you. I'm guessing you've never gotten an answer because nobody else can answer the question either. I mean I can understand and appreciate the concept of more playing time to face a defense other than your own.
My sport was hockey. We "played a hockey game" instead of having a gang fight. I never lost. Usually the five of us against 15.
I'll never understand punching somebody wearing a helmet. Or pads, for that matter. When I read fights are commonplace at joint practices I couldn't believe it.

Glad to hear you say that "losing" a practice in decisive fashion can be a good thing. Seeing yourself on film doing your best and failing is a GREAT way to improve. I'll just add one caveat to that: IF everybody showed up to play and did their best. If they were beat up or otherwise low energy on arrival it's too easy to make excuses.
Tucker Kraft at 6'5 259# getting stunned by a DB upon making a catch and turning around? No man, this is the NFL. You were told this would be gentle? CTFB!
JL10 getting pressured on a blitz (again by DBs) going to #33 who makes a nice gain out of it? YES! Whether you call it a check down, dink and dunk, or metriculating your way down the field this is what JL10 HAS to be able to do before anything else works. Compare that to Bart Starr always being cool under pressure and knowing where to go with the ball if you like, this is at least one of Jordan's strengths if not his best asset. HELL YES we want him to be the best Packer ever!! Combine this with everything he learned from AR12 (cough hard count cough free play) which stood on the shoulders of #4 and ... no pressure, just be the best you can be. And bring home at least 5 Lombardis, lol
Tay#13 making the play of the day? Raise your hand if you're not surprised, many here have been his fans for a while. I wasn't an early adopter as compared to some others on the roster, but his ascent has been undeniable and doing it under difficult situations matters. A LOT! I love to see our player's hard work paying off.
Bakh and KC#97 back on the field :)
I agree that #34Owens has been the best S re: assignment sure and sound tackling from what I've seen. He's dropped off the radar lately and if that's because others are improving that's fine, but it's good to hear he's still at it.
Agree that our run game, including TE / FB and WRs on sweeps and such should be more than half of our offense, at least early in the season. Unless our O line simply can't deliver, in which case JL10 has a very long season. (which might get cut short) One solid pass connection and an opposing defense can't just focus on run stop. Great strategy to focus heavily on pass plays in practice, give the youts every chance to get comfortable. As long as everybody knows how to run block.
Sounds like the team is still well on its way, sorry I couldn't make it today but glad for everybody who got to see it live.

DEFENSELESS RECEIVER HEAD HUNTED. This AFTER FIGHT #5…
FUCK BILL BELICHICK.
It was a PRACTICE WITH AGREED UPON RULES. SST, I know you had no I’ll intents but your statement is really a gross mischaracterization. Just divergent. Nothing less than a defenseless receiver cheap shot. I yelled out twice to #2 that was cheap!
I’ve played, and been to countless practices these last 20 years.
From a quick assessment standpoint overall, this was little more than the D being ahead of the O in TC - only the Defense is a well seasoned Bill Belichick #1 D.
My wife & I had a great day meeting TGR, hanging out, watching practice, and sharing burgers & beverages together at Kroll’s afterwards. He’s one fantastic gentleman, with a great eye for the game. I’m grateful we had a chance to meet up.

Thank you for the additional info. I was going off of the info I had, which said nothing about a cheap shot. This is starting to make more sense!
I take it you're referring to the Kraft hit; what'd our guys do? Hockey players strip off our own gloves first, I'd be inclined to rip his helmet off, with or without the head, then tangle his arms up in his jersey. I take it nothing went that far, but it sounds like refs did nothing?

I should have clarified: as a spectator in the stands I would have NO inclination to do anything other than cheer and jeer. GG & I might have gotten a chant going, against #2.
As a player, anyone on my team taking physical abuse in clear violation of rules? Oh hell no! I'd "take exception" to that, and in a major way that makes sure everyone knows all about it. If refs do nothing, and the league does nothing later in review, this is back to schoolyard stuff where defending yourself and your own team is all you've got. That very much defeats the purpose of having a professional league.
This adds fuel to the fire re: Bakh's contention that player safety is just a pretense of the NFL. Very disturbing!

Wicks is all of that. 100%. Saw DuBose make some plays too. Watson is a boss in red zone.
Just had a thought. Bakhtiari with the full padded practice today? Was it an audition for Belichick? Put it past him to agree with the Packers to outbid NYJ to keep him away from those Jets he loves to screw?
I’ll be interested to see if that might play out. They did just sign Zeke Elliott. They want to run him between the Tackles with that OL?

Submitted for your consideration: Brady Poppinga tells the story of when he started the biggest fight in 2009 training camp by laying out teammate Kregg Lumpkin after LB coach, HOFer Kevin Greene, fired his LBs up and encouraged them to "light somebody up."
Start at the 34 minute mark (caution Aaron Rodgers sighting).

Seems to be a commonality here, just like 200 kids who show up at a Nordstroms to rob it: fights stop practices, fights cancel practices, lets have some fights and go get showered and go home, no sense in getting hurt and missing those contract incentives.
I'm not naive enough to think these millionaires want to really hurt themselves in practice. Its all show.

Maybe the departed franchise QB had a point in not thinking joint practices are a great idea. Yes, you get somebody else to face, somebody else to hit, etc. But a nobody trying to make a team can try to do that by taking out an opponent's knee. We don't need any possibility of that.
