RIP Max McGee

Max McGee died yesterday afternoon.

We here at CheeseheadTV.com would like to send our heartfelt condolences to Denise McGee and the rest of the extended McGee family.

While he was well known as a wide receiver for Lombardi's Packers, my generation grew up listening to Max on the radio as the color commentator on the Packer Radio Network. He was a joy to listen to, and was absolutely at his best the year the Packers won the Super Bowl, giddy as a kid the entire season.

He brought joy to millions of Packer fans. He will be missed.

(An annoying aside - would it be too much to ask for the NFL to put up something on their website? As of 11:55 AM EST, the day after McGee passed, there is not one mention of it on NFL.com. Shameful. The man did score the first ever touchdown in a Super Bowl after all...)
