While I agree the pass/run balance should feature the run a bit more, I'm not sure all those carries should go to Jones.

It is obvious to everyone and their sister that Jones is the one getting the most yards per carry, so you have to ask the question WHY does MM not play him more. It just isn't enough to call him stubborn (the most often-quoted reason), coaches are always looking for the best matchups in a game.

Jamaal Williams is more assignment-sure in pass protection and might be able to handle a heavier workload, while Ty Montgomery has the best hands (being an ex-WR), so it makes sense to use them all.

While I'd like to see more runs, it isn't clear to me that MM is more to blame than AR. I just don't know how many times the play call is changed in the huddle.

PS I can't see the authors name (Ed Wood) without thinking of the infamously awful film (Plan 9 From Outer Space) by the director with the same name.

Richard Sherman did not dispute the call , he said he can't make mistakes like that at critical times in a game , he is a stand up guy.

I suggest, with signings approaching the October 30th deadline, we try to sign two or three, one year contracts, to rotational edge rushers. Rodgers can not beat teams by the pass only as we become very ONE DIMENSIONAL. We need balance with the run game to keep defenses guessing. But, as based on the past since 2010, MM refuses to use our backs correctly or at all. Genius MM? Not! Every fan and broadcasters see this, but MM doesn't. GET RID OF MM. You'll definitely see this after the Ram and Patriot games. MM will not have them ready, wont change gameplan because we'll fall behind by 17 points, and he will revert and then depend on Rodgers arm to bail us out; which will make us one dimensional and defense will pin their ears back! Although from a fantasy football perspective, I'd love it if Aaron Jones was the lead back and getting 75% of the carries but he has not displayed consistency in the pass game which is a problem. What evidence is there that supports Aaron Jones should be the "work horse" RB? Again, if he's not consistent in the pass game, he's not a 3-down back, thus not my "work horse" RB. I'm not looking for a 50/50 run/pass ratio...

Ed, I have a long time timeline of reading your work and enjoying your perspective as a fellow Cheezehead. I respect your football acumen and your overall Packer knowledge. However after reading this, I think you need to reconsider something. You flat out named Aaron Rodgers as the best Packer qb in history. Hold up. Pump the breaks bubba. We are living in the Rodgers era of now so it is easy to drink that kool aid. Make no mistake about it I am the biggest 12 fan there is. Even though I’ve watched every meaningful snap of his entire pro career, I remain in awe of the things Aaron Rodgers does on the football field game in and game out. BUT! That being said, you need to rethink that statement. Obviously nobody has played the quarterback position at a higher level than Aaron Rodgers. I think anyone who’s subjected him to the eye test would agree. But that statement means more than just play on the field. This franchise is so unique, so storied, and so downright incredible that your average franchise analysis just doesn’t always apply the same to us as it does the other 31 teams. What Brett Favre meant to this team, this franchise, and this fan base, can NOT be undervalued. As time wears on we are oh so soon to forget but number four saved this franchise. If it wasn’t for his career and the critical timing of which it began, it is not far fetched in the slightest to say there would no longer be a team in Green Bay. And the amazing feats of arm strength we regularly witness from Aaron Rodgers is something that also happened routinely with Brett Favre. Make no mistake Brett Favre wielded a throwing arm that was an all timer. We have grown numb to this because first arm in history that is comparable was literally his immediate predecessor. My how lucky we have been. I, like anyone else, am soaking in this Rodgers years and enjoying every moment. But I will NEVER forget what Brett Favre did for me or this Franchise. #GOAT
