Should the Packers sign Kenny Clark to a contract extension?

The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reports that the Packers are looking to sign Kenny Clark to a contract extension, which would be a rare move for a club that rarely hands out third contracts. Aaron and Billy discuss on the latest Carry the G Radio The Podcast.

Dumb Question, He is dedicated, shows leadership, can dominate , best we have... Just keep giving him plays off like last year so hes fresh for playoffs he does have some mileage. 3yr deal plus option ...

Kick his butt outa there, he's rubbish.
Seriously though, he's still 28 and has been rock, staying relatively healthy at a position where many don't.

Depends on the money, more so the guaranteed money and length of the deal. I could definitely be wrong, but I see him as a player who just wakes up one day an no longer has it..at all. I'd start looking for/drafting his replacement very soon.

yes, you could definitely be wrong. Almost definitely. You make a total subjective conclusion when all the evidence is that Clark has been reliable, dedicated and had very little help on the line to divert protection. But who knows, every now and then an intuitive guess plays out accordingly. See if you can be a GM somewhere.

The contract extension numbers for Clark will be huge, better make sure he can live up to his production in the contract.

Otherwise, draft his replacement.

Core player at a key position, He can still play at a high level, and the good DTs can play effectively into their mid 30's. Packers will try to ink an extension.

If he's willing to take a pay cut and extend his contract another 2 years to lower the cap hit then yes do it but if not they have Wyatt, Ford & Slaton waiting in the wings to take over and I'm sure Gutekunst will draft at least one more this year and sign another 2 as UDFA's so while it's nice having Kenny he's not a must sign type of player!

Slaton has had 8 pressures in 3 years and will probably see his snaps cut by ⅓ to ½ this year. You can't have a run stuffer with no pass rush on the field much in a 4-3.

I don't think that any Packer has fulfilled their contract more than K.C. For years he led the NFL in being double-teamed and was still disruptive. His durability is remarkable - considering the miles on his odometer (I love former wrestlers in the trenches). Yet he's only 28 - with the likelihood of another good 2 years ahead of him. Which is why I believe that the Packers will sign him to an extension this off-season. Furthermore - playing in a 4-3 scheme under Hafley may be kinder to him -which could unleash more of his innate abilities.

This keeps on coming up. It shouldn't.
Seems the word is he's gone too.

No. It will be another Bahktiari situation where they’re paying big money to an aging, injured player who is in the training room most of the season. Trade him and go young and cheaper .
