Simms Has High Praise For Carl Bradford

Bleacher Report's Chris Simms has some very flattering things to say about the Packers' 4th Round Pick

My co-worker over at my day job, Chris Simms, has some high praise for the Packers' 4th round pick out of Arizona State. Thought I'd share it with you guys.

That's nice and all, but I'll need to see Chris Simms' full resume with at least two professional references before I can take his opinion seriously.

Carl Bradford was my favorite Packers pick in the draft with Abbrederis my 2nd favorite. Both really good value in the 4th and 5th rounds respectively.

Bradford I can see having the same kind of impact in the next few years as Mike Daniels has. Intense guy with great first step quickness and relentless pursuit.

I know a lot of fans think hes destined for ILB but I would give him every opportunity to stay at OLB if/until it becomes obvious that's not where he belongs.

Agree with Clay Zombo about giving him a shot at OLB first. Although a little shorter than you would draw up for the position at 6'1", he has the 3-4 OLB build (252lbs).

For such a solid guy he has real loose hips and with practice should be able to cover for a second or two. He seems to have the quick-twitch first step and a variety of moves.

Also worth bearing in mind that OLB is what Carl himself would probably choose to play. It is what he is used to and what he does well. OLBs in the 3-4 are a sexy position to play and good pass rushers can make a mint of money, which he will be aware of.

If he has a quick first step that is great because Mathews is the only one on the d that does. Perry couldn't catch a cold with his first step. Teams ran at him all day for big gains as he just stood them frozen in time.
