Geez Nadz, you were a little rough on Aaron Rogers. God knows I'm not the biggest A.R. fan and I call him out when needed but I think the sideline was the bigger issue tonight esp in the second half. Yes there seemed like a disconnect between him and Matt in the second half but to hang it all on Rogers is a little tough.

The Good:
The Goat screws up and comes up short. We win a squeeker in a great game to watch.
Defense is making steady fearsome progress thanks to play-makers that are beginning to standout, have to mention Campbell, Clark and Gary. I sensed Brady was not feeling his normal comfort. To that point he had only one 3rd down conversion in the entire 1st half. D line did very well containing, holding their lanes and bringing the heat. Nice to see Romeo getting a few thrown his way and getting his first NFL/Packer touchdown.

The Bad:
The second half. First half we were winning 3rd downs 11 to 7
by the final gun we lost that hill 19 to 14.
What happened to A. Jones? On top of the end zone fumble he only had 24 yards rushing and he and Dillon only combined for 53.

The Ugly:
Our coaching staff got rolled in the 2nd half. Losing J. Alexander with a groin injury. Tampa came out second half with adjustments to our play, We did not stay ahead of it. As good as the defense is getting there is still plenty to tighten up in linebackers and secondary. It's now very clear on tape and teams will exploit.

All in all, happy for the win, the blood and color has returned to my knuckles...
Go Pack !

In the end it came down to the ILB match ups. Campbell and Walker made more plays than White and David in the gladiator competition. If jones doesn't take the big smack, Tampa never would have threatened again.

Good, offense for the 1st 3 series.

Bad, offense for the rest of the game.

Ugly, prevent defense on the last drive.

Good: The first half offense, missing two important receivers, scored more points than the Bucs' previous two opponents combined in whole games.

Bad: So the offense hit a wall in the second half; did anybody realistically think we were going to waltz down the field vs. the Bucs all game long? Which leads us back to:

Good: The organization invested heavily in the defense just for situations like this. Now that last Bucs drive could have been defended better, but ultimately we got the job done in the end.

Ugly: No ugly. Contentment should be the order of the day.

Good: Win

Bad: Long running theme of bad to no adjustments as the game goes on. Packers hardly ever seem to put teams away with any real authority. If it happens, it's more the other team imploding than the Packers consistently driving home points. Young season, but this has been going on for YEARS.

Ugly: See Bad. It allows for chance to get refs involved in changing outcome, which came close to happening. Never give refs end of game chances to ruin the outcome. They love the power to do so. Laugh and/or scoff if you want to, then think.

Good: Our D held at the end.
Bad: Our D let the Bucs score when the game was on the line.
Ugly: Not 'adjusting' on offense to the Bucs' 'adjustments' on D. They found a way to freeze us and we did not have a response.

Happy: Bakhtiari, Jenkins, Doubs, early Offense, Clark, Reed, Gary, Campbell, O'Donnell, Ford, Nixon. No happy: 2nd half Offense, Alexander, Myers?, too many TB short completions (Alexander being absent?). For ONCE we came out on top after the other team came back at the end. A win on the road (especially over a contender and a Brady) is cause for celebration.

The good: first half Aaron Rodgers, Romeo Doubs, D-Bakh's return and superb play, special teams and of course the defense.

The bad: second half Aaron Rodgers, the game plan and trying to force the run game while simultaneously getting away from the quick passes that were carving up the Bucs defense on the first two drives, the running game.

The ugly: the ridiculous penalties that GB was getting flagged for in the second half while TB was allowed to do everything and anything to Rashan Gary with nary a flag in sight, the injuries with Alexander and Myers being the most notable, the turnovers yet again with 5 through 3 games after having less than 15 all last year and finally the complete derailment of the team after a turnover in a close game. What is it with these guys that once a fumble happens they fall apart? We've seen it so many times before, including last year's playoff loss against SF and numerous other games as well. They need to find out how to hold onto the ball, especially when in prime scoring position. That game would've been great up 21-3.

Abandoning the run is why the offense fell apart in the 2nd half. Even tho the run game wasnt producing in the 1st half, the Bucs still respected it which kept the middle of the field open and led to a littany of easy completions in the 1st half. Once they abandoned the run in the 2nd half, those windows closed and the offense went nowhere. This team has to run the ball for 4 quarters whether its working or not because the entire playbook feeds off of the threat of the run. Those plays stop working when you dont even try to run the ball.

No, they very clearly were determined to stick with the run. It wasn't working, as they crowded the box every play and the Packers were gaining 1-2 yards per run, causing 3rd and long every time. Their first few third downs were 3rd and short and easy to convert.

GOOD: a road win, especially against TB
BAD: lack of offensive coaching adjustments in H2. I still think LaFleur lost too much brainpower (coaches) in the off season
UGLY: the B-S roughing the punter call. The TB blocker tossed the Packer into the punter

The Good: Defense, ST, Romeo Doubs (end of the list)
The Bad: Offense, after fumble to the rest of the game. Injuries, Play calling in the second half (no running game in the 2nd half)
The Ugly: Refs (so many no call holding penalties on Gary and the rest of the D line, ridiculous call on roughing the punter, call on Amos as PI while it was holding), Aaron Charles Rodgers who played 2nd half as rookie - lot of missed passes, holding the ball to long, bad field scanning (there were several plays when he had at least one open WR, he still forced the throw to the covered one, interception was his bad throw, etc.)

The good - Romeo Doubs, Allen Lazard, De'Vondre Campbell, and seeing David Bakhtiara back in the
game again.

The bad - Wasting time outs to avoid delay of game penalties. Poor effort after the lost fumble.

The ugly - Penalties at critical times. Inability to take a commanding lead and put the game away. The
phantom roughing the kicker call. He was blocked into the punter.

The Good

Romeo Doubs catch every pass thrown at him
8 receptions for 73 yards and 1 TD which is
allot better than being targeted for 10 passes
and catching 5 passes for only 36 yards and 1 TD
Just Ask Devonte Adams.

The Bad Will not comment as a win is a win You
should not apolagize for a Win The Minnesota Vikings
of the 70's never did with all their ugly wins during this era

The Good: Romeo Doubs and the special teams.

The Bad: The Bucs last scoring drive. Way too easy. If not for the two point stop we’d all be putting this in the UGLY category.

The Ugly: 2nd Half offense. I think the offense is a work in progress. I do think it improves as the season moves along. Yesterday, however, they could have put this game away but just didn’t.

The bad: Rodgers and the offense 2nd 1/2.
The ugly: Winfree! Can't get separation. He's a vet. There should have been- No collision.

Good: Defense for 58 minutes.
Bad: Aaron Jones. He shines against crap teams but comes up small in big games.
Ugly: MLF’s impersonation of an NFL coach. When he is on the road and can’t do his arm flap he has no idea what to do.

Rodgers led him full speed into Vita Vea in motion straight at him. I don’t think Rodgers saw Vea, just that he had a step in the LB. That’s not a throw that should have been made.

The Good? Special teams. Not flawless but solid. Helped us win field position battle. The downed punt at the 1 was just awesome. Kudos to Coach B.
The Bad? Ground game. A week after we ran all over da Bears, we tally SIXTY EIGHT YARDS on TWENTY FOUR CARRIES! If we run ball and keep clock moving, we don't have to win a nail-biter. (Not that I'm complaining about that.) Sound like a broken record, but.... Run the Damned Ball!
The Ugly? As mentioned above, inability of Offense to get back on track after turnovers. Ok, we could have gone up 21-3. But we didn't. That's no excuse for the O to DISAPPEAR after the 8 minute mark of Quarter 2.
Sheesh!
But a win's a win.
Bring on Pats. I actually like beating Bellijerk more than Tom Terrific.

LaFleur and Rodgers need to face up to the reality of this roster. Unless and until they do, they invite that kind of impotence. It starts with who is on the field and then who you weight calls towards and how often.

Any team that allows overstocked boxes that often without punishment needs to look very hard at who it had out there and how they were used. The running game did its job of pulling players down. We did nothing to capitalize on that. That led to the runs getting shorter and killed short passes. We can not go out there again with only one guy with speed and an unwillingness to throw more than 8 yards.

Toure needed to play in the absence of Watson. If he doesn’t make the catch we lose nothing since others didn’t or didn’t get a first down. If he does, they have to either risk a game breaking play or back off the line and rush. That reinvigorates the run, opens up the medium field for passes. If a Toure or Doubs catches a 20 yarder, we probably ice the game with a field goal at least.

The depressing thing is we know this. We’ve been there before. We just don’t learn. I don’t care if it’s Rodgers or LaFleur. It’s LaFleur’s job to make sure these things don’t recur. He’s on The sidelines with a support team. He’s not taking hits. It’s his job to ensure we learn and adapt, whatever it takes. A coach that can’t do that exacerbates our weaknesses and is a liability.

It starts with ditching the comfort personnel and going with talent on this roster. Why, because we have one healthy full time receiver in Lazard who isn’t a rookie, a nice cameo option. In Cobb and nothing much except Doubs yesterday. Not activating Toure was unforgivable and allied them to shut down any perceived threat by just focusing on Doubs. To compound that, Rodgers ignited him when he was open at times as well, when they did run him beyond ten yards.

This team needs a cold dose if reality on O. Sadly our HC isn’t in touch with it or isn’t able to convert that into on field reality. Probably both. We are winning on talent when we do, despite not using it optimally or smartly. Nothing changes at the top. I don’t think it ever will. LaFleur is an empty vessel. That void gas cost us twice and there are no signs that it’s filling. He’s a dead weight that hinders not helps. The coach who couldn’t win with Rodgers or the coach that couldn’t help Rodgers help himself. A bad pairing.

You say you dont care if its Rodgers or Lafleur but then spend the last paragraph blaming only Lafleur lol. I agree with most of your points, especially when it comes to repeated mistakes, but I just dont believe much of the blame should fall on Lafleur. For long stretches of games, this offense still mimics the late mccarthy era spread offense. Thats Rodgers' scheme, not Lafleur's. Its clear Lafleur has very little operational control over this offense and i dont know what he can actually do about it besides outright benching Rodgers which would likely earn Lafleur his walking papers. Long story short, were stuck with this for better or for worse cuz its clear Rodgers isnt going to budge.

Don't you think it's unfair to pick on MLF just because he can't make adjustments? It's not fair the other teams change during a game. This is only his fourth year as a head coach. Let's give him another ten years to adjust to the speed of the game.

Couldnt agree more. I watch Rodgers and its obvious this is his offense and he can call whatever play he wants. That's the problem you spoke of, LeFleur gave into this as part of his re signing.
Rodgers is worried about three things that are causing his regression IMO.
1. His pass percentage ratio must stay intact as the best ever for the HOF. His short passes that can be caught protect that.
2. He is worried at his age about the pass rush and getting buried so he is looking for the out of quick slant, again short passes to save his ass.
3. When he see's neither option 1 or 2 will work, he calls a run.
Its like he isn't playing to win, he is playing to be Rodgers and survive if that makes any sense.

In the Vikes game he threw two passes greater then 20 yards and I dont think he had many more then that yesterday. Defenses are playing accordingly.

The Good: A win is a win in the NFL; Doubs, ST's, D, two great bookend T's moving forward.
The Bad: Jones fumbles at the worst times, but we need him to be great. Need to use TE's more.
The Ugly: Coaches don't seem to have the ability to adjust on both O & D, or at least takes too long. Just seem to go deep when we really need to move the chains.

Good: We played a Bears team with no QB to speak of. Win
We played a talented team missing two major pieces that would have shredded out pass d. WIN
Bad: Rodgers seems happy with himself completing lots of short passes. He is aware it doesnt matter the length of the pass just that its caught that they base your percentage on. He was like 27 of 35 for 225 yards. That is pathetic for a HOF trying to win for his team.
Ugly: The absolute inability of either HC of D coach being able to adjust to the situation. Its like we got one plan and thats all we practice is one plan. IMO its why we tend to keep or bring back players "who know the system".

A few days ago the smart money* had this game projected as low scoring, close, and decided late by a good defensive play. This is exactly how it played out.

By the third quarter it was pretty clear that the Pack's three good drives were the exceptions to the flow of the game. Neither team had a corps of reliable receivers, and both QBs were working hard prior to every snap as they tried to find the least bad option against two good defenses playing well.

The good: both defenses and their coordinators.

The bad: turnovers.

The next Tampa game will be completely different from this one. The teams will have some receivers, the QBs will throw down field, and it'll be higher scoring.

*-- By 'smart money' I mean my prediction in the CHTV comments last week. Hold your applause.

Have you noticed - that after 3 games:
Nobody is pointing fingers at special teams?
Nobody is questioning Crosby's age or ability?
No major screwups on ST
Amari Rodgers has been solid.
The gunners actually do their jobs

WELL DONE !

To be fair,

have you noticed they seem to be hesitant to lean on crosby so far this year when it comes to FG attempts? Only WAS has fewer attempts (they haven't attempted a FG!)

Packers have trotted out Crosby only twice in 2022.

I'm concerned they are worried about wear and tear after his procedure. Not the most secure feeling entering a league year without your place kicker 100%.
