Excellent: The statement victory, D game plan, D play calling
Good: AJ, Winfree, OL, Lawry, Campbell, Douglas, Gary
Bad: Tonyan injury, zebras, Taylor
Ugly: State Farm turf

I know that everyone will winning about time & clock management, especially at the end of the half, but take in consideration that Packers might thinking about bad turf and possible injuries if they push to hard...

Also it was done like that to prevent possible turn over at the end of the half, as it is obvious that young WR are not at the same page with AR, what might produce unwilling event.

You're putting Winfree in the good category? He dropped two passes and fumbled the ball after breaking a tackle on a likely touchdown pass. That's not deserving of "good." Slide him down.

He got us yards having never been targeted in a game previously and without practice time too. I’d say he played above expectations for the most part.

Which begs the question, why wasn't Malik Taylor utilized more. He has literally cought touchdown passes from Aaron Rodgers and he was one of the best receivers in the preseason but they expected a practice squad receiver who was elevated only two days ago to outperform him. Bad coaching decision.

Doofapotamus and Houndog,

1. objection (Winfree) - Winfree was second by targets and third by yards on the team after Aaron Jones and was targeted 6 times, with 4 catches for 30 yards (67%catch rate). Randall Cobb was third by targets and fifth by yards with 3 catches (2 was TD) for 15 yards (60% catch rate). Fumbles happened, but it is important that he did not have fumble for loss. Also, Randall Cobb is seasoned veteran, while this was first official game for Packers (forget last year 2 or 3 showing for be just body on the team) and his first official catches. That I also take in consideration.

2. objection (Aaron Jones) - AJ was much better in the running game than Jones in this game, so I just believe when I mention AJ I do not need to mention A.J. Randall Cobb - see above.

Thank you!

Not a good performance.

if Winfree was 2nd most in targets, it means he was open when others were not. He was spoken about highly in the off season, but got hurt. To expect him to come in and be perfect is unrealistic and expecting too much.

dekan51, I didn't have any expectations for Winfree to be perfect.
I said what I meant and meant what I said, and nothing else:

He's not ready to play starter-level NFL football.

Good: an improbable win
Bad: very bad:
1st and goal from the 3 settle for fg
1st and goal from the 1 turn over on downs with the game on the line
Ugly: the continued total lack of respect for time outs
This is a very flawed team and eventually the piper will be paid

That’s funny. Regardless of how good this team will appear in hind sight, beating a hot team at home without:
- 2 top corners,
- our best lineman,
- our starting C,
and with a wide receiving corps with one experienced receiver (a vet who played about as many snaps as Hopkins) plus:
- 2 off the PS this season WRs on the perimeters,
one of whom had never been targeted in a game,
- A guy who hadn’t been able to practice or be with the team for 3 weeks (Taylor),
- a very green rookie who has hardly been used on O.
- an Hback just off IR this week.

Yes, not blowing an unbeaten team off the field, away, and on a short week, last night is really a telling indication of how poor this team and organization are. For once I deeply lament the lack of a sarcasm font.

Stic, this isn't a "Very flawed team", it's a very INJURED team.

Packers just defeated the 7-0 Cardinals, whose offense is #4 in the league in points scored and whose defense is #3 in the league in points allowed.. at their house. In prime time.

...without 11 starters, including their top 2 DBs, top 3 WRs, Top Edge rusher, Starting LT and C..

seriously.. GTFOWTHS.

Stic.
You make good points. No one is happy with the red zone/inside the 5 production, most certainly MLF. Dont get me wrong, MLF's game plan was excellent, but we need to do better inside the red zone. Some wasnt on his play calling, but on execution. As for time outs. Again, 100% true. We need to clean that up, so if AR needs to use one, like 3rd and goal from the 1, he can, but we really need them at end o game, and to be able to call a challenge before the 2 min warning.

The Good: Rasul Douglas, and the defense as a whole (mostly). Have to give a small mention to ST, they got a turnover. Who would have thunk!
The Bad: Not using Dillon at the 1st and Goal. So what if 7 or 9 bigs are in the way. Trust Q'Zilla to hammer his way in.
The Ugly: Injuries, on both sides. Plus the zebras and NY. They are making bad calls as well as changing calls to change the outcome of the game, just to make it more interesting to the casual fan and to support the legalized gambling.

Good: Douglas he certainly has that swagger about him, unlike our friend KK (injured) AJ Dillon, Aaron Jones played tough, DLine and yes i say it Rashan Gary who I have been down on seems to be getting it.
Spec. Teams ok?

Bad, couple of drops WR, missed tackles injuries

Ugly Gold zone offense, they didn't stop Dillon the whole night the only one that did was MLF why wasn't he in the game on goal line. 3 times they got stopped. and yes another time management debacle. Call the play get them out of the huddle make adjustments and go stop trying to be so cute out there. Too much ass grabbing after plays, posing chest pounding etc you are supposed to be making plays. As Jim Brown used to act like you've been there. I am going to get pounded by the pink hats because I seem never to be happy
great teams don't make these mistakes.

I don't come on this site often, but when I do, I can always count on Aaron Nagler dwelling on the negative. Focusing on the poor time-outs in the game, well I'll take that any day if we can continue to get to exceptional play calling and winning execution in the clutch. Instead of griping about a few lost time outs--which in no way impacted the game--how about talking about the grittiness of the over-all team effort, including our 37 year old QB who stood up and took a bone rattling hit to deliver the first TD pass to Cobb? Nah. Let's drone on about time outs some more...

It’s not the fault of players who haven’t played with him that they aren’t in sync with Rodgers anymore than it is his. There were no actual practices this week due to Covid and the short week. In such circumstances, the vet probably needs to make allowances. Rodgers didn’t and his audibles were mostly the problem. Hard to tell if they were worth making onbalance or if the loss of time outs was a better price to pay. Just an inevitable side effect of playing with players that have had no time with the QB.

Bure, not only that, what if AZ scored quickly with 30 - 40 seconds left? Would AR been able to drive the whole field and get a TD without a timeout? Very, very unlikely, so YES those TO's are valuable and they need to quit wasting them. You can use the excuse of new players, but this happens all the time. We were fortunate when AR drove the team to a victory with 37 seconds without a TO to get a FG attempt that our great Crosby kicked for the win.

The good - Dillon and Jones combining for 137 yards rushing and controlling the time of possession. The team effort and finding a way to win when the top 3 receivers were out. The defense forcing turnovers. A total team effort win. Randall Cobb and Rasul Douglas.

The bad - Poor clock management and poor red zone offense. First and goal from the 1 and turn over on downs. Obtaining a 10 point lead and allowing the Cardinals to keep coming back.

The ugly - Injuries on both sides and officiating.

Very Bad: I find it totally amazing that there are so many so called Packers fans on here that want Rodgers to fail no matter how detrimental it would be to the team. This includes you Nagler, you must still be on your knees kneeling. RDS is so sad, reminds me of another group of people. Lack of experience caused the majority of the incompletions and also was the reason the time outs had to be used. Troy even said the same, did you even watch the damn game? Of course not, just pin it on Rodgers.

no one want AR to fail but he is no god. Never was. Make mistakes and this game was not a good one by him.
Funny how some guy want to give AR all the glory if we win and no blame if we loose.

He had more weapons over his carrer than any other top 10 QB, but he is kind of strange with his "trust" stuff and forcing the ball to his favorits even they have no seperation. And thats just one thing and there are much more. His playoff modus was always a little bit in doubt besides the one magical run.

You should watch the games man, AR is way more human than some try to paint him.

The young WR have mostly tons of seperation but he did not see them or misses them a lot in the last 10 years.

AR is now a good QB and a complicated fella. Nothing more but nothing less either.

The Good:
*Against all odds, pulling off an incredible upset and taking down an undefeated team!
*MLF was nothing short of genius on the game he called,
*We won on every stat (short of Passing yards).
*D played a great game, (except for the final Cards drive. That was hard to watch.) Other than that set of downs they did pretty damn good. Even caused some turnovers that we capitalized on and they showed true Grit and hot pursuit. WTG Defense !
*Aaron Jones was a beast and his 110 yards does not tell the story. Right behind Jones is A.J Dillion with season high 16 carries for 78 yards and a very good contribution.
*Big Dog’s one-handed amazing TD catch even though it got over turned. I really wish he would have got another to make up for it.
*R. Douglas gets the game ball for that winning INT. Making that game ball taste even sweeter, Douglas, was on the Cardinals' practice squad at the beginning of the month, we picked him up and signed him to the active roster 22 days ago.

The Bad:
(With a win like this ya can’t really call too much bad, more like “Not so good”)
Top of the list, Winfree seemed to choke.
Not using Dillon in those RedZone "Inches to goal" plays, comon Matt trust him.
Stokes got burned too many times.
Tonyan and Hill both go down.
Hate to say this but again Aaron Rogers did not have a stellar air game. A funny moment when A. R. complained of a horse-collar IN THE MIDDLE OF THE PLAY….. What ??? Can’t make this stuff up. LOLOL.

The Ugly:
Again the officiating. The first down call on the final drive of AZ's was BULL, Packers TD overturned that should not have been, Murry’s knee was down in the endzone and should have been a safety. Did anyone else see that ? So many missed calls, more than a few others I'm sure you can recall.
Goal to go twice and can’t get it in? Wow. That could have really hurt In a very big way, what has happened to our RedZone Magic?

*********
What an exciting game to watch, JUST WOW ! K.C. can’t be too excited to have our boys roll into town. After you watch this game then you think of our hurt stars and starters coming back…. TITLE TOWN HAS IT’S SPINE AND THINGS WILL GET EVEN MORE EXCITING.

The Good...

Obviously Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon. Many of us said at the beginning of the year this running game could be special and Thursday Night was a perfect example just how good they can be. The O-Line was pretty damn good against a defense that was playing really well.

The Packers Defense was just excellent. I thought Murry would take off and run at will and the Packers game plan AND front didn't let him get going. Gary in particular was a BEAST! Jerry Gray and Kirk Oliviadotti. The Packers defense was up in Murry's face in a hurry much of the night and the all out blitz on the Douglass pick was an EXCELLENT call.

7-1 and a Mini-Bye week!!

The Bad...Red Zone play calling. MLF doesn't learn from those two FAILED Red Zone trips, first after the ST fumble recovery (3 straight incompletions FROM THE 3) and then on their last drive when the "Dagger" was there for the taking, it WILL cost the Packers a game. Sometimes football is really simple...Just RUN the ball!!

The UGLY... The Refs... Even Mike Pereia couldn't see any evidence (And there wasn't) there was NO WAY that Jones TD should have been overturned.
The use of timeouts... OMG, are you kidding me?

I'm more worked up about the goal line play calling than I am about clock management. You've been winning with smash mouth football all game long. You are utterly dominating time of possession, and their D has to be gassed. You are on the one foot line with a chance to ice the game. 1) AJ Dillon, who is both the hot hand and the big body, is not even on the field, and 2) you do NOT hand the ball to your other stud running back, Aaron Jones, but 3) you apparently decide, "Oh, let me just lob something in a Cobbward direction," even though the dude is covered and ain't gonna catch it no matter what. For crying out loud, RUN THE #$%&%#^ BALL!!!!

99.9% of the time I hate it when people bitch about play calling, but this time.... I think I still want to throw a beer through my TV screen.

Man o man do I hear you marpeg1...

On that final drive the Packers went 12 plays for 74 yards using up 7:22 of the clock. They took over the ball with 10:45 left in the 4th quarter and then back to back penalties put the ball at the one with 4:46 left. I KEPT waiting for Dillon to come in the game, especially when the Refs just ROYALLY screwed GB on that TD reversal.

It was tough to watch 3 straight incompletions in the failed 2nd quarter red zone trip so I'd figure MLF would put in his 6' 2", 250 pound RB to try and get in the end zone. When that didn't happen I REWATCHED that series over and over in absolute wonderment. Common Matt, you have the absolute best coaching record through 40 games in NFL HISTORY. These "Brain Farts" have got to stop!

The good Big Dog big paw snaring the pass in the end zone. Holy Hanna that would have been the offensive play of the year. Of course the interception at the end. The running game. The whole Packer defense. Gutey picking up quality experienced players to plug in. LF!

The ugly was the injuries. Keke with the concussion, and Hill and Tonyan with knees. Tonyan is vital to the Packers success even though he hasn't been utilized much this year. Hill is quietly one of my rookie favorites and I wish him the best. I also do not feel Rodgers played as good of a game as I had hoped and it did not have much to do with inexperienced WRs.

The problem with G, B and U is that after a huge (if improbable) win, two out of three categories are negative.

G: How hard both Jones and Dillon ran the ball, Cobb's effort on the first TD, Rodgers's all-around leadership (people who think he played poorly don't have a clue) and willing an undermanned team to victory, Bojo's first punt was massive, RASUL, an opportunistic D, Campbell, pressure on Murray and not letting him run wild, L&L playing well again.

B: I don't...
U: want to complain.

The Good:
Awesome Game Plan for a team without its most potent weapons. Focused on the run to set up just enough passing. Great job by LaFleur and the entire staff.

The Bad:
Special teams. Penalties. Amari Rodgers fumble that could have been game changing had not GB recovered. The look on the ST Coach Drayton when a holding call negated a return. I just feel like Packers haven’t figured it out yet and might hurt us in a big spot if they don’t.

The Ugly:
I want the NFL to show us the specific angle showing that Aaron Jones DIDN’T cross the Goal Line. TD was the call on the field. So that was the bar. I saw not one single replay that should have changed that call. This is why replay is a joke. You start assuming and guessing on plays and it is maddening. Looking for something not there.

Good - Aaron Rodgers post-game interview. He was simply ecstatic, gushing about HiS team. The post-season is going to be an incredible soap opera, will he?... won't he?...

Bad - Sure you can single out goal-line fail, time management, a few drops, a few completions against Stokes, but why? They were playing the undefeated consensus-best team in football and dominated most of the game, and came away with a well-deserved victory. Maybe one of the gutsiest, best-managed games in Packer history. Bad?... hell no!

Ugly - only the injuries

Good: A win when many thought we would't win. Rasul Douglas! From AZ practice squad to GBP Legend! Lowry continues to shine. Jerry Gray running the defense! Our run game was effective in beating down the AZ defensive line. A road win and a mini bye!

Bad: Clock management and terrible use of our timeouts. Players not lining up where they are supposed to. Not using the running game inside the 5 yard line.

Ugly: Injuries to Tonyan and Hill. Hill's was preventable, too, as he did not have to run the ball out of the end zone. Hope the AZ player, who ran into Hill is okay. I hate injuries.

The Good: Against all odds a big TEAM Win! Moving the chains, won the TOP stat, running the ball. All the Packer Backers in the stands for an away home game advantage.

Good: Aaron Rodgers for executing the game plan with receivers he never played with before. Aj Dillon, OL,
A. Jones, Gary, Lowry, Campbell, Douglas, Overall defensive effort.

The Bad: Winfree, dropped passes and fumble. Amari Rodgers, Deguara. Red Zone play calling, WTF. Hill running KO out of end zone, poor decision.

The Ugly: Getting plays in late and causing TOs. Officiating and injuries.

I believe, based on the way the Played last evening, that if we had Adams and Lazard, this game would not have been close at all. We probably would have scored 35+ on AZ.

Good: Packers overcame adversity, executed a makeshift plan and made it work. Bravo. I gave them no chance to win based on how Ariz was playing but they took it too them.
Bad: That dam pass defensive scheme. ariz went from the 1 yard line to the 50 in two plays because the prevent allowed it but your also allowing them to tie a game your ahead in. Duh! The only reason, these guys lack speed to cover man on man plane ans simple so this d is the only one they can use since circa Capers.
Ugli: goal line play calling not using Dillon to pound it.
Stokes pass coverage skills. Its obvious QB's are targeting him when they need a big play. They've seen the tapes and read pre season how he was unable to cover deep (Adams) and was easlily beat.
Either he doesnt get and cant be coached or the coaches dont know how to train him. Looks like King 2.0
Maybe this is why they kept King, they knew something?
