The way Gutt picks a top ten pick will do nothing for us. He two first and his second from last year are contributing little.

Good - one game closer to forcing management to do something
Bad - AR. If he had any honor, he would sit himself down after today's performance.
Ugly - Season is officially over even if not mathematically. I wish I could say it was fun. At least in the 70/80's we didn't expect much. The team letdown here is overwhelming.

Will MLF have the guts to start Love? If they don't do it soon, it will be another bit of management malpractice.
Maybe MLF should be calling more QB runs?
I'm wondering what the other players are thinking of him. It's not hard to imagine that the team is growing tired of him not throwing the ball well after blaming others. Recall the time in The Longest Yard when Reynolds throws the game and the players just let the D in. It's not hard to think that others aren't going to risk their bodies to protect him.

"At least in the 70/80's we didn't expect much" (very true ...never thought about it this way). Now we expect to get in the playoffs every year and are disappointed when we don't reach the super bowl. I don't agree with the season being over but I gave you a thumbs up anyway.

Yup, the only thing worse than a wasted season is not using the irrelevant remaining games to evaluate your future plan at QB. Having a top 10 pick means you have to figure out what you have in Love

I have a serious question—is it poor draft picks or poor development responsible for bad play? Probably a combination is my guess.

I for years have questioned Gutey's drafts. When the professional people give you an D. It's Bad. ( Love, Dillion, DeGuara. ) Who's left from Gutey's first draft, besides Alexander? His last draft has the makings of his best.
And he's No TT, as he wastes draft capitol. He's better at FAs; and that has made up for the busts.

The player regression (or lack of development) is the thing that sticks out to me. What's happening to these players once they get into the Packers system?? Darnell Savage's play is becoming a liability (too many business decisions).

Defensively I think that the Packers are really missing Mike Smith's LB coaching too. Rashan Gary is now making the same mistakes that Clay Matthews used to (being suckered into rushing outside - and freeing up the 5-gap inside for QB runs).

The Bad > Aaron Rodgers and the play calling - run the dam ball outside if there are 8 people in the box

The Good: Aidan Hutchinson. At this point, the Packers could use a receiver like him....Kerby Joseph--told you he was good.

The Bad: Did we forget to mention Savage on the Mitchell TD? Also, nice tip by P. Smith on a first quarter Goff pass, but then he collided with Gary, who was about to make the INT.

The Ugly: AR boiling over with frustration on multiple occasions; goal line and red zone offense, as usual--need a couple of maulers on the OL.

The Uglier: The season is barely halfway over and we're already on the skids with seemingly no way up.

The Disappointed: Echoing the sentiments of many other fans, can we get "Gut Reactions" back to print?

The good:
- The defense for the most part, holding the lions (#1 offense at home) to less than 300 yards and 15 points.
- Toure had another solid showing today despite only having 2 catches, a few inches more lead on that pass into the end zone and it's a TD and a few more inches on that rollout late could've been a big play.
-Pass protection was pretty good, all things considered.

The bad:
- More dropped balls, specifically Lazard dropping 3 by my count.
- Running game was anemic today. Hard to believe, even with all of the injuries against that front 4.
- Pass rush. Without Gary, no one stands a chance of getting home. Our front 4 is simply not good enough. They did get pressure today, but no one could get home. They also had to blitz routinely to throw Goff out of rhythm, leaving guys wide open.

The ugly:
- Injuries. Man, today was almost laughable. I just hope everyone is okay. There is still a looooong way to go to get to the by week.
- For the second week in a row, Christian Watson left the game due to an injury. Romeo Doubs made it 1 play in and is likely down for awhile with an ankle injury. The receivers are simply just not enough and it's sad to see this is what the team has to work with. Few could've predicted it would've been this bad before the draft and FA.
- Aaron Rodgers. He simply was not on the same page with anyone today and threw balls he rightfully shouldn't have. It's perplexing to imagine what he saw on some of those plays.
- Sammy Watkins. For being the most senior member of the receiving core, Watkins was absolutely lost today. Whether that was on Rodgers or him, he had one catch for 9 yards on 5 targets. It's becoming painfully obvious he is not part of the best group we can get on the field.
- 4 first downs off of penalties for the lions. A lot of stupid plays but that one by Enegbare just doesn't happen anywhere else. Watching the play live I knew he was gonna get flagged, but after watching the replay and watching Goff turn what would've been a perfect sack into a roughing the passer simply by rotating 90° to the right, simply genius. Never seen that happen before.
- The Packers should change their name to Series Of Unfortunate Events. They couldn't do anything right today. In a game of inches, they were always consistently 6" short.
- Darnell Savage needs to be sent packing. His coverage abilities are staggeringly awful. What was he thinking on that last touchdown???
- Turnovers. 3 interceptions and 2 fumbles on the last drive that we were lucky were not recovered. Simply baffling, the Packers haven't been this terrible in the turnover margin since the Favre days.

I hate to say it, but the season officially ended today. Today was an absolutely must-win game and they couldn't do it. They couldn't do much of anything. This isn't their year and it's painfully obvious. Still love GB but these games are getting harder and harder to watch.

Oh well. On to the next one.

Good: The defense. Especially with Alexander, Douglas and Nixon as CB. Bench Stokes

Bad: Lafleur. Why didn't they use Jones on the goaline series. And how could they not use him more often.

UGLY: Rodgers. The three interceptions was bad. But the short throws in the second half were killers. And the final four plays with available time outs were absolutely terrible. Rodgers has no excuse. He lost the game pure and simple.

FUGLY:

Detroit Rookies, 3 Rookies and, a Practice Squad call-up, owning and eating the Packer’s lunch all day long.

Joseph Kerby, Rookie Safety, 2 interceptions;

Aidan Hutchinson, Rookie DL, 1 interception;

James Mitchell, Rookie TE, w i d e - open for a touchdown - I think I was closer to Mitchell than any GB defender and I was at home;

Shane Zylstra, a 2nd year player just called up from the Practice Squad for this game, Touchdown!

All those 1st round GB defensive picks, especially in the defensive backfield, couldn’t prevent Two Touchdowns by a rookie and a just-up practice squad guy.

And FUGLIER yet were the numerous injuries - win or loose - hate to see guys injured!

The Good - Defense gave us a chance with key 3rd and 4th down plays.

The Bad - Our final 4 plays. Did it seem that we were in total panic mode? The play clock was always at 0 when we snapped the ball, there was no thought of playing/threatening a run even though we had 2 timeouts. The throws were either nowhere near our receivers or into tight coverage. Why can't we scheme anyone open or at least take small high percentage chunks instead of always trying for the low percentage home run shot?

The Ugly - Under throws resulting in 3 turnovers in scoring position. Kudos to the Lions for making the play, but those were all poorly thrown balls.

The Good ?????

The Bad: Our offense including Aaron Rodgers is getting worse every week. Our coaching is clueless.

The Ugly: Our management team. As I've posted numerous times in the past, "Can we really expect that the management team which created this mess can actually get us out of it?" As of today the answer is a definite NO.

Even though he is coming as a Cowboy at least it will be nice to Mike McCarthy again. Thanks, Since '61

Good - 12 realizing he probably should have left some money on the table to field a competitive team.

Bad - handing gute a top 10 pick with a dozen holes to fill.

Ugly - the talent level that Jordan Love will be surrounded with for several years before being released and declared a bust. I feel sick for the guy and hope he gets a Jimmy G second chance.

The Good- TB12 doing what AR12 should have done (Jaire had OOB penalty that could have gotten them off the field).
The Bad- AR12 looking like he has no idea of what he is trying to accomplish pre-snap
The Ugly- Embarrassing ourselves against a 1-6 team; Sammy Watkins showing why his career was squandered. No easy passes/WR beating DBs off the line.

For appearances, Watkins jettisoned. Let all injured heal up.
Accept the draft pick gracefully (Cowboys, Titans, Eagles, bears, rams, Dophins, Vikings, lions) = probable 6-11 (best 9-8).

Focusing on the offense, Gute didn't know Watson and Bakhtiari would be this injured-- but he/MLF should've known Lazard not a #1, Cobb not a #2 (despite GM Rodgers saying so) and Deguara hasn't progressed/Tyler Davis would be disappointment after all the hype).

Still, would rather keep both Gute/MLF--LGP

The O line pass protection was pretty good but the LIons the past two weeks pass rush has been awful but I'll give our guys one.
Bad: Not stopping the run and pass rush non existant. Even Goof had time to pass.
Ugly: That pass off the helmit of the lions. Larry, Moe and Curly would have been proud of that one.

Last year we were bemoaning how many games we would loose without Aaron Rogers.

A.Rogers play was, quite simply, atrocious. I could not imagine that his play would ever reach this level.

I don't think LeFlur had anything to do with the atrocious plays in the red zone that resulted in ZERO points.

Injuries seem to always take their tole in Detroit, But this time seem excessive.

I think it maybe time to give Aaron a week or so off to visit his tanteric wizzard guru to reattach his brain to the rest of his ageing body and ouchy thumb. After all, what can it hurt now?
