Com on Man the D was stellar and won this game for us while our O struggled to get into the endzone. Here are the D play series till the game was out of reach towards the end of the 3rd quarter 29-10.
8 plays 75 yds - TD
2 plays -3 yds - Safety
3 plays -5 yds - punt
2 plays 0 yds - INT
3 plays 46 yds + 15 yd questionable roughing on Savage - FG
END of first half

8 plays - punt
6 plays - Defense beat them on 4th down
END of 3rd quarter

At this point the score was 29-10 and I would say the D did a marvelous job to allow the O to get the job done. Sure, we all would’ve liked to see them shut them down in the 4th, but when it mattered most the D provided the path for the O to get onto track and make this a convincing win.

Better list than Nagler's - LOL! Though I'm not sure you get to pick 4 players in the good column and 2 things for the bad.

You do know Lionesses are inherently more lethal and capable than their male counterparts, right?

With all due respect for Davante, had a hell of a game, are you kidding me. Rodger's Show starts the discussion of good this week ,unless there is of course, a great category. The Horn is definitely always on the Ugly list, but can we just once not be hindered a whole game without losing a key defensive player, the biggest ugly ,the injury to Clark. Especially against the purple guys. Was very much looking forward to seeing him against them, all game long.

Good- lafleurs offense being run beautifully by aaron. Mvs shaking it off. Rodgers spreading the wealth with no hesitation and making seemingly the right decision every damn play. The bad- savage looked a bit lost in coverage a few times. Dean lowry. The 2 point conversions. If im the lions i go for 2 every time next week till we do somethin. The ugly- lane taylor and kenny clark going down. Lane was lookin like a clear billy turner upgrade.

The good... A win at Minnesota on opening day

The bad... not smashing Dillon into the end zone around the goal line

The ugly... 4th Quarter D... and Clark and Taylor's (and Patrick's) injuries

Should we sign Snacks Harrison and Veldheer for depth/ insurance?

Go Pack!

I absolutely could not believe the Packers didn't try Dillon.

The team already has a big nose tackle on the PS. Mack is cheaper than snacks and Wagner is cheaper than Valdheer.

Are you going to volunteer to pay Snacks and Vendheers salaries? Packers don't have much cap space. Maybe could get one of them done, but not likely both.

The Good...Lazard and Ervin picking up right where the left off.

The bad...the call on Savage was bad...he went in with his shoulder and head up....they called a 15 yrd penalty
More bad...About 5 non call holdings on Z Smith. Whomever was handling him...from the Vikings were holding him tons.
The ugly
Injuries...with Clark its a hamstring...hopefully he recovers quickly.

The Good: Time of possession. ADAMS, ADAMS, ADAMS- 14 times. DEGUARA: the block that wiped out two Vikings on Lazards run- the guy is a stud. Petine’s call and execution by Alexander on the crushing of Cousins for the safety. Game balls: Rodgers, Adams, the whole offensive line (Rodgers uni doesn’t even have to go to the cleaners), , AND Flores’s masterful game plan.

The Bad: Maddening inconsistency of MVS, giving up too many TDS when the game should have been in lock down mode. Injuries- hoping Clark and Lanes injuries aren’t to bad.

All in all, beating the Vikings in Minnesota...Well... just made my year! GO PACK!

According to Ja it wasn't a called play. In fact, again according to Ja, he misread the play as a run. When he found himself in no man's land there was noting to do but continue on and sure enough, he got home.

What was impressive is, being he got there so fast, I believe Ja did it without hesitation, that’s great, quick decision making. If he hesitates it may have been a big play the other way based on their receivers getting open on Ja’s side.

The bad outshines the good , giving up 34 points and several 2 point conversions takes some of the shine off Rodgers who played like we expect him too .

The good - Spreading the wealth by a well balanced attack, especially in the passing game.

The bad - The defense, especially the 4th quarter.

The ugly - Injuries

The Defense gave up 10 pts thru 3 qtrs. What happened in the 4th was largely inconsequential, since the Packers were up by 3 scores. I get everyone wants to see them shut out the opponent playing w/ desperation, but between the viqueens having desperation and surging and a defense playing prevent and soft zones, the 4th qtrs was to some degree to be expected. Judge the Defense when the game was still in doubt, not when it was for all intents and purposes over!

Rodgers should have been in the good. This was one of his finest games in years. He had 12 incompletions out of 44 passes and I know of 3 drops and 1 sideline bobble in those 12. I don't remember one time that he was at risk for an interception. This was vintage Arod. It looks like he has cut back on his back foot throwing and that is a good sign for this year.

A few additional thoughts:

Time of possession: 40:37 to 18:44 in favor of GB. Seriously, just let that settle for a minute.

Yes, Davante was good today. He was being "covered" (*cough, cough*) by the NFL equivalent of a blind, three-legged kitten, but yeah, he was good. Even so, I'll wait to see how he fares against people who are qualified to play the cornerback position. The Vikes have a real problem there, and Adams obviously exposed it. But don't expect ARod to be throwing the ball 44 times every week, or for Adams to catch 14.

Injuries are the biggest story this morning. Not even close. If the news is bad for Clark and the O line, then game 1 was a net loss, even if the team won.

Man, if MVS could just catch a football.... Here are some of the WRs that the Packers were supposed to draft, according to TV and internet talking heads. OK, this isn't really fair, I know that, but if people are really going to argue about "what did you do to WIN RIGHT NOW" then let's see how "right now" looks after one game. Heck, let's even include the ones picked before the Packers were on the board.

Henry Ruggs - 2 rushes, 11 yards; 3 catches 55
Ceedee Lamb 5-59
Jalen Reagor 1 for 55
Justin Jefferson 2 for 26
Tee Higgins - zip
Michael Pittman - 2 for 10 yards
Laviska Shenault - 2 rushes, 10 yards; 3 catches 37 and 1 TD
Van Jefferson - 1 for 31
Denzel Mims - DNP
MVS - 4 for 96 1 TD

So if we are really looking to "win right now," then MVS 1 - stud WR draft picks 0.

Imagine if MVS ever learns how to catch a football....

Let this settle....they scored 34 points in that 18:44 TOP. Not to mention they were 3/3 on 2pt. conversions. That's some scary bad defense. Hope it's not a trend.

Hard to draw a conclusion of D abilities when playing in a soft prevent D, especially without KC. Your right thou, it would be nice to at least make them take time of the clock while they go down an score.

Good: The OL, not allowing a sack and few pressures despite the shuffling as a result of injuries.

Bad: The interior DL being gashed by runs. I expect some new faces being worked into the rotation.

Ugly: Points allowed.

The Good...The Packers WHOLE offense. Hey folks, the Packers had 522 total yards of offense on the road without the benefit of anything that resembles a TC or preseason. Davante Adams is a BEAST!

Aaron Rodgers doesn't look like he can't do it to me anymore...Not even close!!

Rodgers continuing to go back to MVS...Hopefully this starts to pay off and we get to a point where alligator arms and MVS don't belong un the same sentence.

The Packers defense through the first 3 quarters. What that was in the 4th quarter is inexcusable. I mean that was even a "Prevent Defense" IMO because you still have to give the opposing offense SOME resistance playing a prevent don't you?

The Bad... 1st and goal at the 1 yard line...WHERE was the 248 lbs. RB taken in the 2nd round with thighs like tree trunks? STOP with the fancy crap MLF...Sometimes it's better to put fancy on the shelf and just smash the hell out of your opponent. Dillon right there would have accomplished that, I have NO DOUBT.

Injuries... Kenny Clark walked off without a limp (Just watched him walk off the field again). There was maybe a very small hitch to his step but no limp. Hopefully that's a good sign.

Greg Jennings as an announcer...#UGH!!

The Ugly... The FG drive they gave up at the end of the first half. There was 14 seconds left when MVS caught that TD pass from Rodgers...14 SECONDS!! Are you F'ing kidding me Pettine! Granted that penalty on Savage was BS, he hit him with forearm and shoulder but still. Without the penalty, they still were in FG distance. That just can't happen if your a real contender.

(Bonus Category) The SUPER SWEET...The 49ers got BEAT at home by the Cardinals!!!

I think the Cards will surprise some people this year. Kyler Murry to DeAndre Hopkins > Jimmy Carappolo to George Kittle. Carappolo always looks OK on the stat page and not so good on the football field. I like Seattle to win that division.

Oh and the Cowboys lost too.

Oooh, and so did that Tom Brady team. The Mighty Gronkster had 2 catches for 11 yards. Look for the Saints to win that division.

Did Nagler kneel?

Good: Aaron Charles Rodgers & Davante Adams combo, can't get any better. Rest of the offense and execution. I will give MVS a 1/2 good for hanging in there and making some key plays, but he needs to clean up those drops. 1st Quarter defense.

Bad: To slow getting plays to huddle. Run blocking especially at the goal line. Not using Dillon at the goal line. MVS drops. 2nd and 3rd Quarter defense

Ugly: Injuries. 4th Quarter defense.

I'm adding a GREAT category.
Great - Rodgers execution of this offense.
Good - Two times the time of possession. That's a serious butt kicking.
Bad - Injuries. Cross your fingers and check waiver wire and practice squads.
Ugly - Goal line offense and defense.

I am not sure of Aaron’s criticism of the coaching staff’s use of Elton Jenkins? I rewatched the early part of the game and Jenkins did a fine job at RT. Then when the injuries occurred they put him back inside. He did a fine job. He’s a versatile and very good o lineman. Maybe the staff was more comfortable with Taylor and Jenkins then with Jenkins and Wagner? Wagner missed time because of injury. Seems like this is nitpicking.

I'm gonna add "Ugly for no Reason" Greg Jennings as an analyst. Fox sports is better than that. He was bad back when he started, understandable. That he hasn't improved and maybe even regressed is on fox for not helping him develop or just moving on.
Loved him as a Packer though, an absolute gamer. GPG

Vikings defense looks like an achilles heel to me. No pass rush and no secondary is a bad combo.

Our defense may not be as bad as the Vikings but they did not look good yesterday. Given our huge TOP advantage yesterday I can't believe the problem was they ran out of gas in the 4th Q. Instead, I think Pettine switched gears and once again, we proved we can't play that way. Please don't do it again.

Lions gave away a victory twice yesterday. Lions will have smoke coming out of their ears this week. So should Packers' defense.

Can Packer offense be consistent from week to week with big TOP advantage and mistake free play? Cross your fingers.

It will take a month for everything to settle down and for each team's identity to become apparent although things don't look good for the Vikings defense.

If Pack can go 4-0 or even 3-1 during that time, while becoming more consistent on defense, GB will be tough to catch in the division.

Losing Griffin & Hunter seemed to kill their pass rush. Gnadokoue was not much of a factor yet. Yes, Packer OTs did their job as did the rest of the OL. I will stand by my preliminary conclusion (for now) that Viking D is in big trouble.

After an offseason of countless whiny posts from annoying Vikings fans, I've realized that the-

Good: The Packers beat the Vikings in their shiny new stadium easily, in control the whole game.

Bad: The Packers didn't beat the Vikings by 20 points.

Ugly: The Packers didn't beat the Vikings by 30 points.

We can nitpick about mistakes here and there and where they need to improve, but the bottom line that life is good right now to be a Packers fan.
