Thanks much Bob for keeping the bones of Lambeau Field intact. As much as the players, Lambeau Field still amazes...thanks for the redevelopment but allowing the field and bleachers to still whisper all the games played there, all the moments. Thanks for being comfortable with hiring good people to help move your vision along. And, the pinnacle of a successful season. He added modern technology without sacrificing past history and appeared to truly spread praises around to all. He did things behind the scenes that we (the public) would probably never learn of if not for someone else acknowledging his efforts. Seems like a class act...and, I honestly never thought I would see the day the Packers would play in a Super Bowl, much less win one (or two). Great reminder Aaron...I am always thinking of Reggie White, Favre, Coach Holmgren, Ron Wolf, Desmond Howard, Sean Jones, Rison, etc...but, forgetting to thank and acknowledge Mr. Harlan. Something tells me, he is okay with that...

I met Bob Harlan in the Rock Bottom in Des Moines Iowa. He was waiting in line for a table on a friday night and i was in the bar. He had a GBP vest on and i went up to him and asked if he was a Packer fan, he said yes and i said, you know - you look a lot like Bob Harlan, he said that's because i am.

I spoke with him and his lovely wife Madeleine while they waited in line and we had a great conversation. I had the opportunity to sincerely thank him for all he had done for my favorite NFL team and he was extremely gracious. He4 said that he answered his own phone calls and that if i ever got up to Green bay to call him and he would give me a personal tour of Lambeau Field.

I was in the bar that night celebrating my new job in California and I was leaving in a week, so i never got to go to Green bay and call Bob for my tour. That's all right, the gesture was all i needed.

Bob Harlan is a true gentleman and a class act. I am very proud to root for the franchise that gave him the opportunity to pursue his dreams in sports management. He did a great job for the Packers in so many ways.

Thanks, Aaron this is spot on. I attended my first game at Lambeau in 1993. It was the Reggie White game where he sacked John Elway on back to back games to beat the Denver Broncos. I can tell you that even then Lambeau was great “inside”. The history was special. However, the exterior was corrugated green steel or whatever. I had been to plenty of Stadiums and well it needed work. If I remember correctly the Packers Hall of Fame was on Lombardi Avenue down away from Lambeau. Much smaller than today.

I didn’t get back to Lambeau until 2010. The difference is AMAZING. The HOF is pretty spectacular. I go every year and visit the HOF every time. I see something and learn something new each time. I have been on the Stadium Tour 10 times. The visit to Lambeau is a highlight each year. I have been to games in Miami, New York, LA, Dallas, San Diego (yes the Chargers were real) and can honestly say Lambeau is the best fan experience in the NFL.

Thanks Bob Harlan. I only wish that I could leave something so great when I die.

The impact Bob Harlan had on the Packers cannot be overstated. He absolutely changed the trajectory of the entire organization. My wife and I had a chance to meet him at an event at Lambeau Field years ago and he was so down to earth and approachable. Just a wonderful guy!

Out is 3 year, $72.5M with $10.2M dead. So, $24.17M AAV.
Year 4 he gets $19.765M in cash, but none is guaranteed.
Year 5 he gets $45M (!!!!) in cash, none guaranteed, $50.1M cap number.

So, technically 5 years, 140.4M, $52.5M fully guaranteed and $72M virtually guaranteed. He had a year left on his contract that paid him $20M, so agents will say 4 years, $120M, or 30M/year. Makes him the highest paid WR in my eyes, and in the eyes of agents.

Bob Harlan was the consummate President and CEO. He set the organizations mission and strategy goals...gave direction to his direct reports, then got out the way and let them...especially Wolf...do their jobs.

He was what I call a "Level 5 leader". Humble, even keeled, friendly personality, and worked hard to get the right people on the bus AND in the right seats. Best of all, in the face of adversity, he carried on like someone walking in a driving rain, determined to get to his destination. He just hunched over and continued along the planned path.

Great points in video. Hard to believe they had to sweat out passing the sales tax referendum for the stadium rebuild. People questioning the $$ value of the Packers to the City, when the next biggest attraction was to tour a plant that makes toilet paper.
